The Developments Of Jean Piaget s Cognitive And Social...
Cognitive and social development, as maturation progresses, is momentously crucial in the first few
years of a child s life. It is a broad spectrum of aspects and ideas on how children mature cognitively.
This process occurs in stages and each subsequent stage plays a vital part on the later stages. In fact,
the theorists believed that this development is an active process which can be moulded in accordance
with the quality of care and nurturing that the child experienced in these critical years of their life.
Furthermore, a child s cognitive development is greatly influenced by biological and environmental
factors such as maturation, learning opportunities, play, as well as family and society.
The significance of human development from birth to adulthood manifests greatly on the concept of
knowing the factors that affect their cognitive and social development. These sets of data determine
the foundation of one s behaviour and personality which sets them out to become a productive
member of the society. If too controlled or criticised, it can affect the child s creativity, self esteem and
ability to make appropriate decisions that can be life altering. Thus, striking a healthy balance between
encouragement and discipline from the carer is essential.
Jean Piaget, one of the well established name in psychology, conceived that children actively gain
knowledge through manipulation and interaction with objects around them. Piaget founded four
developmental stages in children s

Osama Bin Laden Influences
Influence Dead or Alive
¨Your security is not in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al Qaida. Your security is in your own hands¨
These words not spoken by Dr. King, or other human right activist, rather this quote was verbalized by
the Emir himself, Osama Bin Laden. Influence is all around, rather it be good or bad. According to
Webster, having influence is the ability ¨ to affect or alter by indirect or intangible means.¨ Osama was
the mastermind behind many terror attacks on America, but what made Osama Bin Laden so
influential among his islamic peers? Osama gained influence by his work as a military officer and use

The Effects Of Water Pollution
Pollution is a term applied to any environmental state or manifestation which is harmful or unpleasant
to life, resulting from failure to achieve or maintain control over the chemical, physical or biological
consequences or side effects of human scientific, industrial and social habits (Feugo, 2008; Anderson
et al., 2005). From another perspective, water pollution refers to any physical, biological or chemical
change in water quality that adversely affects living organisms and makes water unsuitable for desired
uses as a result of anthropogenic activities (Cunningham and Saigo, 2003; Anderson et al., 2005).
Many human activities from water supply and sanitation to transport, mining and the chemical
industry have the potential to pollute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dye doped, surface functionalized silica nanoparticles (SiNP) and surface functionalized magnetic
nanocomposites (MNCs) were proposed as materials that can be applied in order to reduce the time
taken to get results as well as to make the processes less complex and portable. The aim of this study
was to synthesize and characterize surface functionalized dye doped SiNPs and surface functionalized
MNCs for detection and pre concentration of in water (Mahlangu, 2016), Yi et al., (2011) and

of faecal coli form and Escherichia coli bacteria concentrations discharged as treated effluent and from
nonpoint sources into the Santa Cruz River and surrounding tributaries. The objectives were to (1)
assess the quality in the upper Santa Cruz Watershed in terms of faecal coli form and E. coli by

Drug Testing Satire
More muscles, more money? The bigger you are, the bigger the lies? Drug testing in sports is a
significant issue, even though people don t take it as serious as they should. This happens because
players in sports either don t have knowledge about steroids, or they feel the need to make themselves
look bigger. The problem is when they do take this drug, the players get away with it, and become
better than everyone else. That s why I think drug testing should alter their way of testing to make the
games even.
It all starts when players use the performance enhancing drugs and pass the drug test. When the others
get word about this, some of them might take that shot and take the performance enhancing drug too.
This is how it spreads between athletes

Emotional Analysis Of Ernest Hemingway s A Clean,...
In his short story A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Ernest Hemingway, uses his usual style of elegant, yet
unembellished, prose to depict one late night interaction between an old man, a young waiter, and an
older waiter. The story takes place at a café in Madrid, during the era following the Lost Generation
and is apparent, given the contrasting perspectives of the characters. The part of the story where the
young waiter refills the old man s brandy with an agitated demeanor and the old man desires nothing
more than to drink continuously, as he does on a nightly basis, illuminates the broader concerns of the
of the story. This passage, although centered around the story s supporting characters, unveils the idea
of nothingness before the reader s introduction to the word nada. Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted
Place, is a revelation to the elaborate complexity of emotional fulfillment versus the existential crisis
of spiritual and emotional emptiness, between the young and the old, throughout this particular
generational gap. Throughout the passage, we see the young waiter go through a wide range of
emotions, beginning with him feeling irritated, which becomes perceivable after his initial statement: a
terse What do you want? directed at the old man (153). He then becomes condescending, telling the
old man that he will be drunk if he continues drinking, knowing that he cannot hear him and that
getting drunk is, evidently, the old man s intentions (154). Next, he tells

New York Coaches Case Study
The New York Jets are actively pursuing free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins. With four quarterbacks
expected to go early in the 2018 NFL Draft, here s why Gang Green should not waste their time
signing him.
At the start of the 2018 season, quarterback Kirk Cousins will be 30 years of age. The average career
span of an NFL quarterback with at least one Pro Bowl appearance is 11.7 years as provided by
Statista. Cousins would enter his seventh pro season in 2018. Which would give him five more
seasons left in his NFL career, according to the study.
Some of the past great quarterbacks declined in play at the age of 37. As a study by the Boston Globe
showed. Players such as Dan Marino, John Elway, and Brett Favre all declined in play. Except for the
great Tom Brady, who is still on top of his game at 40. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objective the New York Jets would want if they signed Cousins, would be to win their second
Super Bowl championship. The one goal that has neglected the organization since 1968.
After the career year that former Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had in which he led a team full of
high priced veteran players one game away from making the NFL playoffs back in 2015, things weren
t ever the same. The organization recognized that going all out and spending every penny the team had
left in cap space was not the way to success and committed themselves to rebuilding reconstructing
with youth.
In an article written by Eric Allen of NewYorkJets.com, owner Woody Johnson stated the following in
regards to this:
If you want to go to the promise land, you have to go in a certain direction. I think what we have done

Analysis Of Canadian Politician Ron Johnson
Pricing is actually a pretty simple and straight forward thing. Customers will not pay literally a penny
more than the true value of the product (Johnson, R. n.d.). The introductory citation by Canadian
Politician Ron Johnson lays the foundation for this case assignment. A case assignment composed of
proposals to numerous companies pertaining to their pricing strategy. For products created by their
individual organizations. Let s kickoff this case assignment by exploring possible strategies, for a
company that recently developed a new 3D television.
3D television:
A company has produced a state of the art 3D television that contains unique features, that is different
from other 3D televisions currently in the market. This company acquired a patent on a new
technology that doesn t involve the end user to put on 3D glasses to enjoy the effect and display of this
contemporary television. Due, to the patent and superior technology this company will revel in the
advantage it will gain over other companies for at least a year or two. So, it would be prudent that this
company heeds the following advice, in protecting their interest concerning the pricing strategy for
this advanced 3D television.
Consider your overall marketing goals, such as penetrating new markets with new products, or
maintaining a higher market share with existing products compared to your closest competitors (Paley,
N. 2006). Since, technology is constantly developing and manufacturers are always

Sky Cathedral Presence
Survey of World Art
By
Vyacheslav Borts
The sculptress Louise Nevelson was a towering figure of American modernism. Born in 1899, she
came to prominence in the late 50s, gaining renown for monochromatic structures built out of
discarded wood. Critic Arthur C. Danto wrote, There could be no better word for how Nevelson
composed her work than bricolage a French term that means making do with what is at hand. (Danto
2007) Her pieces evolved and expanded in size across the latter 20th century, moving from smaller
pieces to wall sized ones, and the plays of volume therein, between light and mass, generated
comparisons to numerous different movements. The following paper will examine these ... Show more

The poignancy of this girl s untimely death and the instant of life the Grave Stele captures are both
magnified by the weight and constancy of the marble. By contrast, Nevelson achieves something like
suppleness in Sky Cathedral by her use of multiple layers and multiple new spaces that emerge from
different vantage points. From the Attic Greek to the Augustan age brings one to the Imperial
Procession, located on the North frieze of the Ara Pacis Augustae (Fig. 4). The first two sculptures put
into conversation with Sky Cathedral were mortuary, but the Imperial Procession is celebratory. The
first two are both smaller than four feet, but the Procession is life sized, so its visual force is thus
magnified. Finally, the individuals therein are not idealized types, in contrast to earlier Greek modes
of statuary they naturalistic depictions of many actual people in the line of the Caesars. The Ara Pacis
took four years to build, due to its desired scale and quality, and that scale points to a salient evolution
from the Greeks to the Romans. Riegl claimed this vector went from what he call[ed] the haptic
objectivism of the Greeks the delineation of the clarity of the object through an appeal to and a
stimulation of the tactile associations of the viewer to the optical objectivism of Roman art, in which

Introduction. Section 8 Housing Was The First Subsidized
Introduction
Section 8 housing was the first subsidized tenant based housing program in the U.S. The program was
established under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. It differed from the known
public housing program by allowing recipients to obtain housing from the private market as opposed
to government owned housing. Later after merging two aspects of the section 8, certificates and
vouchers, section 8 housing program became known as the Housing Choice Voucher program (HCV).
Housing Choice Voucher Program is the largest form of federal housing assistance in the U.S. and it is
administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The HCV program

components, Section 8 project based assistance for existing, newly constructed or rehabilitated

as a demonstration program by Congress in 1984. The program, then, was formally authorized as a
program in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987. Conversion to the HCV program
from the rental voucher and rental certificate programs started on October 1st in 1999. All certificate

The Rise Of Pop Art
In the 1940s the United States and the allies were in the midst of a deadly war against their Nazi
German counterparts, World War II officially ended in 1945 and the Allies were victorious. In the
early 1950s the post war economic boom in both the United States of America and Great Britain, gave
the people optimism and money to spend as the super markets were filled with all kinds of consumer
goods . The economy was good and people were happy.
Capitalizing on the post war economic boom of the 1950s were advertisers. Advertising persuaded
many, it told people what was popular, what was good, and what to buy. Advertising and glossy
magazines were found everywhere, in the street, the highway, and even at the comfort of your own
house as you opened the newspaper. This mass marketing phenomenon was incorporated with the rise
of Pop Art. It paved the way for iconic artist such as Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns .
With the rise of this bona fide American phenomenon also brought critics. Critics asked and wondered
how a can of soup or a soft drink could be considered art. Pop artist, Andy Warhol responded by
stating, Art is what you can get away with. What made pop art popular? It was brash, transient, witty,
hostile, young, mass produced, and most importantly it was low cost .
Pop art was the new art movement of the 1950s and 1960s, it was the successor of the art movement
of a decade earlier. In the 1940s abstract expressionism was all the rage in the United States, it was

The Importance Of Reasoning In Critical Thinking
Society today requires individuals to develop skills to make informed, thought driven decisions, rather
than quick hasty decisions, in many situations both personally and professionally. Decisions like these
are made based on critical thinking skills that are not inherited but developed through many years of
training both of the mind and of one s thought processes. Understanding how thinking occurs and
analyzing the thought processes are steps that critical thinkers use on a daily basis (Paul Elder, 2012).
In addition, according to Celuch Slama (2000), critical thinking is essential to lifelong learning and is
developed through improved reasoning and communication skills.
Oftentimes, reasoning and thinking are used interchangeably; however, reasoning represents the
higher order thinking skills (Paul Elder, 2012). Accordingly, thinking can be conscious or
unconscious; however, reasoning is always conscious and requires logic (Difference Between
Thinking and Reasoning, 2016). Understanding the eight elements of reasoning associated with
developing intellectual traits, is important for critical thinking (Paul Elder, 2012). Reasoning always
has a purpose which in turn is the goal or objective of the thought (Paul Elder, 2012). Developing a
budget for Christmas shopping to prevent overspending is an example of reasoning with a purpose.
Questioning or trying to figure out a problem is another element of reasoning (Celuch Slama, 1999).
Asking ourselves questions,

Characteristics Of Malignant Hyperthermia ( Mh )
Abstract
Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a genetically inherited, pharmacogenic disorder involving a severe
malfunction within the skeletal muscles, causing them to be stuck in a contracted state. It is found to
be triggered in susceptible patients by the administration of certain anesthetic agents during and after
surgical procedures. It may also be activated by the use of other drugs, such as muscle relaxants and
triggered by other circumstances such as stress, trauma, and even exercising. Not only are the muscles
normal physiology affected, but abnormalities of the whole body occur disrupting its natural
homeostasis. If it is not treated immediately, it can be fatal. Susceptibility is found in patients who
have had a known family history of MH. In order for a medical professional or a patient to be
prepared to handle MH one must understand how it affects the normal physiology of the body, what
signs to look for, and how it can be diagnosed, treated, and prevented. There is no cure for MH, but
there are specific drugs and precautionary measures that are used to prevent and treat it when a patient
is susceptible.
A Brief Overview of Malignant Hyperthermia
Malignant Hyperthermia is a life threatening, genetic disorder that involves the skeletal muscles. It
commonly occurs intraoperatively and postoperatively when inhalant agents such as halothane,
enflurane, and isoflurane are used, as well as some muscle relaxants such as succinylcholine and
curare. It

Along with the other hundreds of thousands workers in Packington, I experience the gruesome

my life were going favorably well until the painting factory I worked for pressured their workers to

Once the supply of cans were running low, the factory reopened, but my wages were noticeably lower.

animals, but with the union, workers can one day be treated appropriately. One way in which the
union will improve workers lives is by giving benefits, which means a worker take a day off of work

much time off as they needed, without their position being replaced. Furthermore, the union will

Symbolism Of Humankind In Lord Of The Flies By William...
Humankind is an imperfect species with many flaws. Author William Golding shows these in the
novel Lord of the Flies. It is shown through a group of schoolboys crashing on an island without any
adults. Without the rules and constraints of civilization the children show humanity s true nature and
raw instinct. The imperfections of man are shown through symbols in the novel such as the scar on the
island, the beast, and the schoolboys who crashed onto the island.
The first symbol that is used in the novel was the scar on the island. The scar was where the plane
crash landed, leaving a destructive mark on the island. He looked up and down the scar. And this is
what the tube done. This quote explains that the scar was made by the fuselage crashing and ripping
into the earth leaving a giant gash on the island. The scar symbolizes mankind s destruction and how
humans can destroy nature just by entering it. The island was untouched and resembled paradise, at
the same time in the outside world a gruesome war was occurring. The carnage and havoc that reigned
over society is also evident on the island. There was a clean slate for them to build a society without
violence, but it did not happen because of destruction being a natural tendency of mankind. The scar
foreshadowed the destruction the island. During the children s stay, the island suffered through the
children s wrath. The children slaughtered pigs, picked the bushes dry of fruit, and also started forest
fires. What

Two Cheers For Anarchism
In this essay I will reflect upon James Scott s Two Cheers for Anarchism , exploring both the novel
and the concept of anarchism. Firstly, I will explain why I chose to focus upon Two Cheers for
Anarchism arguing that many of merits of the book result from the unusual style which Scott adopted.
Subsequently, I will justify the fragmented framework I have adopted from the book for this essay and
highlight how this style allows me to reflect much more effectively upon both the book and the
concept of anarchism. This will compromise the first section of my essay. The second fragmented
section will bring into consideration many themes from the book from the nature of historical
interpretation to queries about human nature and democracy. In lieu of a conclusion ... Show more

Furthermore, I will attempt to identify any underlying themes within the fragments and try to say why
these themes are so innate to writing about anarchism.
What makes James Scott s book persuasive, entertaining and distinctive is, in my view, the method he
employed when writing Two Cheers for Anarchism . Instead of adopting what could be called the
traditional western ideal for an argument, a premise by premise account leading the reader to a
conclusion with which no rational human could disagree. Scott adopts a much more personalised and
fragmented approach which allows him to flit from argument to argument in a manner more in tune
with the capricious nature of human thought and attention span. This personalised fragmented style
simultaneously allows Scott to engage the reader with anecdotes and avoid the characteristic dryness
of so many books which are intended to be an introduction to a political ideology. The persuasive
power of Two Cheers for Anarchism however does not arise merely from the reader friendly

The Iraq And Iran War
The Iraq and Iran war in 1980 through 1988 started on September 22, 1980, which resulted in an 8
year war, 500,000 casualties, $600 billion debt accumulated, and many more factors. The Iraq and Iran
war strained Iraq s political, and social life. Also put Iraq s economy into severe conditions. The 1980,
8 year war between Iraq and Iran was fueled by many factors including border disputes (geographical
and economical), and Iraq s new dictator Saddam Hussein (political). Saddam Hussein feared that the
new Iranian leadership would threaten Iraq s Sunni Shia, and the minimal access to the Persian Gulf.
The war was multifaceted and had many religious schisms, political differences, border disputes,
ethnic disputes and a very personal fight between Saddam Hussein and Ayatollah Khomeini. Iraq
launched the war in effort to strengthen the rising power in Iraq, and to replace Iran as the dominant
Persian Gulf State. The most important factor to this war was the fight over the Shatt al Arab
waterway. The fight over the waterway goes all the way back into the 7th century. Having said that,
Iraq s leader, Saddam Hussein had large aspirations which included expanding his country, and
become the leading nation in the Middle East. Becoming the leading nation in the Middle East
required accomplishing the attack on Iran, gaining more oil fields, the Shatt Al Arab (a waterway) and
getting more power and land. Furthermore, in the months that lead up to the start of the war, Iraq was

The meeting that was held was titled as The Parking and Transportation Commission. I was glad the
topic was on this because I felt keeping our society safe is the most important. So the City Council
would do its best to make sure that there would not be hassle while driving on the road way. They try
their best to prevent traffic and parking problems. Obviously there is still going to be traffic on the
freeways, but they try their best to cause fewer problems for people in the society. The members that
were in the meeting would give suggestions or feedback, and recommendations to other board
members. Everyone had their own point of view about the Parking and Transportation issue. The
Directive was taking a look at the transportation ecological impact reports, future transportation
expansion strategies, and school crossing guard sites. I feel like their thoughts were all good, however
in my opinion it is not a good idea to use all those recommendations regarding about the issue. The
reason for this is because then it would be too costly. I feel that it would be best to just take the best
recommendation and then use that as a strategy for traffic flow. In addition, I like the idea of how they

Disillusionment In Twelfth Night
Disappointment and disillusionment are both prominent themes presented by L.P Hartley in The Go
Between. Published in 1953 although set at the beginning of the 20th century, The Go Between
demonstrates how a young boys deceived and clouded perception of life leads to a disillusioned old
man, who can t recover from the distressing events of the first summer of 1900. In Shakespeare s
Twelfth Night disappointment is exhibited through many characters whom experience the torments of
a love that is not reciprocated. Furthermore, Thomas Hardy explores similar themes in his poetry via
the use of specific literary techniques, such as metaphors, and pathetic fallacy to demonstrate how the
disillusionment of the speakers past has led to a disappointed ... Show more content on

The speakers misconceptions of another woman s feelings towards himself first emerge when he
believes that her gloom within at the lack of [him] seemed matching [his] at the lack of her , the
repetition of lack in both lines shows that the speaker wants to relate to the woman, as well as wanting
the woman to relate to him. Hardy s use of the expression seemed is a foregrounding technique to
imply to the reader that nothing is as it seems due to the speaker s disillusionment regarding the
unreciprocated feelings between himself and the woman. Disappointment surfaces when the speaker
notices that there was glee within. rather than gloom ; the utilisation of the caesura represents the
speakers moment of realisation thus the moment that his illusions of the woman transform into sheer
disappointment at the fact that he is now going to be alone . The cause of the speaker s disappointment
is similar to Leo s in The Go Between as he foolishly believes Marian has feelings for him, until he

Attributes Of God Within Classical Christian Theism
Chapter 2 Attributes of God in Classical Christian Theism
We continue our study of the history of God by looking at His attributes from a number of different
viewpoints. We will first examine the view of Classical Theism, then the view of Freewill Theism, and
finally that of Open Theism. We begin by defining Classical Theism, also called traditional theism or
Augustinian theism.
In a section entitled, The Classical Christian Concept of God, Francis Beckwith gives a short
definition of Classical Theism in See the God s Fall, 59 60:
Classical theism is the theism that has been believed in by most theists in Western civilization. In
particular, classical theism holds that God is (1) personal and disembodied, (2) the creator and
sustainer of all things, (3) omnipotent, (4) omniscient, (5) omniscient, (6) immutable and eternal, (7)
perfectly good and the source of all moral values, (8) necessary, (9) the only God, (10) infinite, (11)
sovereign over all things, and (12) knowable but incomprehensible. .
In this paper, we will discuss only 5 of these attributes: omnipotence, immutability, impassibility,
timelessness and omniscience. Gregory Boyd summarizes these 5 attributes in his book Is God to
Blame? (pp 42 43)
First, many theologians have assumed that if God is all powerful, omnipotent, which the Bible clearly
teaches (e.g., 1Chron 29:11; Jer 32:17; Mt 19:26; Rev 1:8; 19:6), that nothing in his creation can ever
thwart his will. At the very least, it is reasoned, God

September 11 Attacks and World Trade Center
Watching the movie 102 minutes for the second time opened my eyes to the tragedy of 9/11 more than
it did the first time. Being only six years old at the time of the incident, I didn t truly understand the
magnitude of the disaster until years later. The quality of the movie made it very clear to me just how
painful being around the World Trade Center buildings during the attack was, not only for the people
in the buildings that were hit, but for the people around as well. The feeling of helplessness that the
bystanders must have felt in addition to the feeling of fear must have been unbearable. Seeing the
footage of the attack in such clear video made it feel as though it was like a
Hollywood movie rather than a real traumatic event ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second I think that people weren t necessarily sure that what they saw was a real event. Sure, it clearly
happened, but the events seemed fictional because of their magnitude. I know that even though I saw
footage of the attacks, it still seems surreal. The magnitude of the attack makes it seem like something
that no one would expect to actually happen to us. Overall I think that those who did not turn off their
cameras did something positive because we would not see so much about the attacks or ever forget
them with this much visual coverage of it.
I think that the events of 9/11 made a huge impact on those around that survived. In my opinion, I
think that I would have felt so unbearable helpless in a situation like this. I have an altruistic sense of
being so not being able to help those around me makes me feel like I failed my life s goal of helping
others even though I feel that I might be in danger.
102 Minutes differs from other documentations because it is a mix of many different people s
perspectives and real experiences. It shows the true, raw emotions of the attacks rather than just
demonstrating the factual event. I think that 102 Minutes was more effective that other movies made
about 9/11 because it showed everyone the real events, not Hollywood altered, not hiding and bias, it
showed the real hurt that not only New York, but the country

Noninfective Fluid Occur In The Middle Ear
The middle ear, which can be referred to as the Tympanic membrane, is responsible for transmitting
sound waves from the outer ear into the inner ear. It accomplishes this by using three bones which are
called the auditory ossicles. The three bones involved are the Malleus, the incus and stapes. These
bones connect the tympanic membrane (eardrum) to the oval window of the inner ear. Each bone has a
special function in the transmission of vibrations that will be discussed below. Although, the middle
ear is usually good at maintaining balance and free from organisms; it can also be infected from other
factors and complications. The middle ear can be easily infected when foreign matter enters the canal
or the Eustachian tube, which connects to the nasopharynx. This can also lead to ear infections even if
the patient has sinus infection or any upper respiratory infection that can contribute. Since the
nasopharynx connects to the middle ear, drainage and bacteria can invade the middle ear ... Show

West Coast Fashions, Inc (WCF) was a large business, which dealt with men s and women s apparel.
One of their segments was Mercury Athletic Footwear. WCF wanted to dispose off this segment. They
just wanted to divest because they wanted to focus more on their core business and move it up to the
elite class.
John Liedtke was the Business Development Head at that time in Active Gear Inc. He had a clear idea
that acquiring Mercury will shoot up AGI s revenues for sure. It would also ensure an expansion of the
key business. In order to get a clearer picture on the acquisition, he needed to compare and analyze the

and the average compound rate from 2004 2006 was of 29%, therefore the forecasted item should be

can be modified towards the expected 29% growth.
Men s Casual
Women s Athletic
This segmented shows a growth rate of 2,50% from 2007 2011. According to the information provided
in the case, the sales of this business line should be declining at 6,25% per year not increasing.
Therefore its sales should decrease in this percentage not increase as projected per Liedtke.
Liedtke projected for this business segment, an average growth rate 7,98% (2007 2001). The case
indicates a growth from 2004 2005 of 13,5% per year . Therefore this can be somewhat a conservative
growth projection. Since this has been solid growth, this could be increased to maintain the 13, 5%
sales growth in the upcoming years
Women s Casual
Lietdke s projection assumed that this business line was going to disappear by the end of 2007 this is

The Pantheon Research Paper
The Architectural Significance of the Pantheon
The Pantheon is a magnificent temple that was built during ancient roman times and still stands today.
The design of the Pantheon and the significance of it are directly related to a sun dial and
understanding the way the sun works with the structure. It was originally built by Agrippa around 27
BC but was partially destroyed by a fire. During Hadrian s reign, he rebuilt the Pantheon enhancing its
architecture along with its meaning. This temple was dedicated to all the Gods of Rome and used as a
place to worship them. Hadrian also held judicial court in the temple at times. The Pantheon became a
church specifically, a station church, where the pope would hold special masses during Lent, the ...

One reason for this is the walls of the Pantheon reach up to 20ft thick making it impossible for
windows. The specific construction of the Pantheon also made it impossible for light to enter at the
entrance when the front doors opened. No direct sunlight can enter from the door in the course of the
whole year, owing to the northward orientation of the entrance doorway (Hannah). This was unusual
for roman temples, as they normally were set to face the south so the sun could illuminate the temples
year round. One explanation of the northern orientation is that the project of the building was to some
extent inspired by a particular type of sundial, which captured the sunlight within a shadowy interior
(Harris). With the Romans giving great significance to the sun and the detailed position and
measurements made in building the Pantheon, researchers have made many findings to give reason
that the Pantheon was some form of a sun dial or astronomical instrument. At the autumn equinox
[September 22n d], the spot of sunlight touches the interior springing of the upper hemisphere. Then at
winter solstice [December 22nd] the spot of sunlight moves up to a maximum height in the roof over
the entrance. Thereafter, it moves down, touching again the base of the dome at the spring equinox
[March 21st]. From the summer solstice [June 21st] the beam turns back , re crossing the entrance
between the end of August and the

Firstly, access to medical care. Years ago medical care in the 19th century was not very good. The
hospitals were very basic, many beds in a large room (ward) there were very rarely curtains around the
beds for privacy because in those days clothes were short and extra material would be made into
clothing. Also, they may not have been very clean, they were hygienic to work in but for people that
were very ill they may of made that person more poorly. Clinics were similar; they had the basic bed
to check patients on and the small amount of medicines. Not all the time did they have the correct
suitable medication for patients. So some patients may have had to suffer for longer than what they
should off because it was hard to get medication that was going to cure

Issues Presented for Provisionary Inclusion
Sex Offender Registration Act (SORNA) The Adam Walsh act has several other provisions including
Title I, the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act or ( SORNA ). Under this portion SORNA
established a new federal sex offender registration framework and SORNA made two major changes
to federal sex offender registration policy (Morse, 2009). This portion of the act is currently in
question for the following reasons:
1. Subsection (1) provides registration requires persons convicted of a sex crime under either federal
or state law to register.
2. Section 16913provides that a sex offender must register and keep the registration current in each
jurisdiction where he or she resides, is an employee, or is a student. (Morse, 2009).
Two provisions of the act violate principles of federalism:
1. A provision providing for the civil commitment of sexually violent predators, and a provision
creating a new federal failure to register crime for federal sex offenders.
2. Section 4248 authorizes the

Essay on Sir John Reith
Sir John Reith Sir John Reith was the first Director General of the BBC, and he had particularly strong
views on broadcasting as having a cultural and moral responsibility as a means of educating and
informing the masses. He once famously stated
It is occasionally indicated to us that we are apparently setting out to give the public what we think
they need and not what they want but few know what they want and very few what they need. In any
case it is better to overestimate the mentality of the public than to underestimate it. He who prides

The idea of the BBC as a public service meant that the provision should be public goods rather than a
private commodity (Curran, 2000). The funding of the service was based upon the license fee and their
agreement with parliament, and this was decided when it was felt that advertising could limit the
number of programmes they would be able to broadcast. They maintained the view that our
responsibility is to carry into the greatest possible number of homes, everything that is best in every
department of human knowledge, endeavour, or achievement (cited in Smith, 1998).
That the BBC kept a firm degree of independence from the government was always at the forefront of
Reith s aims, and the fact that it also gained a reputation for its impartiality meant that it came to be,
and to some extent, still is a respected institution throughout the world. Nowadays, the BBC still pride
themselves on being free of commercial interests and political bias (2002).
During his reign on the BBC throne, Reith came under much criticism on his views of overestimating
the mentality of the public, and providing a service that contained the matters that he thought should
be most important to society. He was often accused of being elitist in his approach to programming
policy. Many of the working class began to feel alienated by the

Authentically Portrayed Women in Literature Essay
Leo Tolstoy s Anna Karenina; Margaret Mitchell s Gone with the Wind; Tennessee Williams A

common. However, looking closer, one concept unites these three works of art. At the center of each
story stands a woman an authentically portrayed woman. A woman with strengths, flaws, desires,
memories, hopes, and dreams. Tolstoy s Anna Karenina, Mitchell s Scarlett O Hara, and Williams
Blanche DuBois are beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated women: strong yet fragile, brazen yet subtle,
carnal yet pure. Surviving literature that depicts women in such a realistic and moving fashion is still

Indeed, the two sisters believed that the beautiful pure freedom of a woman was infinitely more
wonderful than any sexual love (Lawrence, Lady 1994 7). The author maintains this stance on women
s independence, but he tweaks it slightly over the course of the story. Connie marries Clifford
Chatterley, an aristocrat and owner of the estate Wragby Hall, who is paralyzed from the waist down
because of a war injury, rendering him impotent. Clifford devotes himself to his work writing and
Connie remains ignored. A Sleeping Beauty, she has not awakened to life (Squires in Lawrence, Lady

first ignited in an erotic encounter, when she spies on Mellors bathing naked. In Sons and Lovers,
Mrs. Gertrude Morel s personality is a near polar opposite to Connie s. Whereas Connie is earthy,
sensual, and physical, Mrs. Morel is proud, unyielding, and intellectual (Murfin 34). She is associated
with control, consciousness, coolness, and colors suggesting purity (Murfin 38). In a letter to a friend,
Lawrence himself wrote the simplest explanation of Mrs. Morel s role in the novel: The son loves the

showed that 37% of video games are violent, this percentage was the highest among all types of

On the other hand, regarding supporting playing video games, statistics which was made between
1995 and 2008 showed that the rate of crimes committed by teenagers decreased by 71.9%. Moreover,
the arrest rate for all crimes declined 49.3%.
However, the popularity of violent video games around the world in this period increased by four
times. Thus, we can deduce that violent video games do not affect the crime rate as thought.
Furthermore, in 2004, the United States Secret Service made a review about aggression and attacks in

other hand, the other students were interested in other violent types of media such as violent movies

The War Measures Act During The September Crisis
Pierre Trudeau is one of Canada s most renowned Prime Ministers. He was in office April 20, 1968, to
June 4, 1979, and later on March 3, 1980, to June 30, 1984,.¹ An event that Pierre Trudeau is well
known for is the enactment of the War Measures Act during the October Crisis. This decision to
invoke the War Measures Act during the October Crisis has led to a great deal of controversy on
whether the act was justified. The October Crisis was a series of events in October 1970, these events
began with the kidnappings of James Cross and later Pierre Laporte by the group known as the FLQ
(Front de libération du Québec) the group s main goals were to create an independent Quebec.2 The
group resorted to terrorist acts in order to achieve those goals, this later led to Prime Minister Pierre
Trudeau invoking the War Measures Act. The War Measures Act was a federal statute adopted by
parliament during WWI and has been used 3 times; during WWI, WWII and during the October
Crisis. The act gives major power to the Canadian government to uphold security during times of great
distress.3 Pierre Trudeau was justified in enacting the War Measures Act during the October Crisis.
One reason that Pierre Trudeau was justified in invoking the War Measures Act is that the FLQ was
essentially a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths and injuries of countless people. Since
the group was formed in the early 1960 s, the terrorist group s acts had only worsened from mailbox

Personality Characteristics Of Personality Traits
In chapter one of the textbook, it describes how to define personality. There is no single definition of
the word personality. That is because it is used in so many different ways, and because one word
describing someone s personality can be interpreted many different ways. For example, if you describe
yourself as a happy person , that could mean something different to another person who also describes
themselves as happy . Your personality is an arrangement of personality traits that describe a
consistent style of emotion or behavior. Personality traits can be recognizable in various situations of a
person s life. A personality trait can be, shy or outgoing those words are describing a daily behavior
that, on average, is consistent with that individual. Personality is made up from all different parts
genetics, social class, family and peers. The textbook says, some psychologists view the influence of
peers on personality greater than the influence of family. (Cervone Pervin, 2013) This is why siblings
from the same family have different personalities. Peer groups socialize individuals; they create a
whole new set of rules for behavior. This can be seen especially in adolescence. Starting high school is

Why Is Democratic Accountability Important To The Government
When the government brings in private corporations and organizations to help them on specific tasks
it is important for the government and private company to be transparent about what they are doing,
why it is important, and how it will benefit the people whose money is being used to fund the
program. Not only will this procedure be useful to help gain support, but it will also help ensure that
the program stays in place and is not questioned as often. If a company and the government try to
conceal what they are doing people will become suspicious and assume the worst. If people begin to
make assumptions they will no longer trust the government system.
Another approach needed to ensure democratic accountability is rule setting. If the government

The Order of Things – What College Rankings Really Tell Us...
The Order of Things What College Rankings Really Tell Us by Malcolm Gladwell
The main argument of this article is that it doesn t matter who comes out first place in a certain
ranking, it all depends on who s doing the ranking and on what variables the ranking is taking place.
Malcolm Gladwell believes that a ranking can be heterogenous (diverse in content), as long as it doesn
t try to be too comprehensive (including all or nearly all aspects of something). He also believes that a
ranking can be comprehensive as long as it doesn t try to measure things that are heterogeneous. Also
even if the ranking is trying to be both heterogeneous and comprehensive at the same time, it ll only
work properly if the subjects being ranked are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It requires someone to make a surmise about the intentions of the deceased at the time and although in
some cases that is easy, in most cases there s ambiguity. Different coroners and different cultures vary
widely in the way that they choose to interpret that ambiguity. A suicide may be called a suicide, a
homocide, an accident, or left undetermined, depending on the culture the deceased followed. As a
result, nobody can truly know whether suicide rankings are real. This article explains in finite detail
how if the variables on which a certain ranking is based on is changed, the ranking itself will also
change especially if the ranking is both heterogenous and comprehensive as many variables are being
taken into account at once. Another aspect that can change rankings is who the rankings is done by as
everyone has their own opinions and thoughts and depending on what that specific person thinks or
feels about a certain subject will alter how they will rank a certain subject compared to somebody else.
For example if somebody was told to rank colleges based on their graduation rate performance , the
school with the highest graduation rate will be ranked as first. On the other hand if those same
colleges were ranked based on tuition fees, in this case the variable the ranking was based on has
changed, there is a possibilty the school ranked first for the highest graduation rate would be ranked

A Brief Note On The European School System
European School System
European systems are intricate structures that carefully lead students on the path that compliments
their strengths. With the European tracking system, referred to as university or academic/vocational
streaming, according to Chmielewski (2014), it is the students who are tracked, not their courses
(p.293). In this system, students do not take the same classes as their peers in other tracks. The
curriculum and classes depends on the track they are on. Also, a group of studies found that for
academic/vocational tracking countries socioeconomic status (SES) is highly predictive of track
placement (Chmielewski, 2014, p. 298). A contributing factor to this notion is that fact that this type of
tracking begins when students are much younger than with course by course tracking.
Luxembourg School System
In Luxembourg, the educational structure is an intricate system that begins with students attending
primary grade cycles 1 4. According to Shiveley s resource on Luxembourgian educational system
(2016b), each cycle lasts two years and students can be held back in cycle 1 3 depending on their
performance and maturity. Once students complete cycle four, around age 10 12, they move onto
orientation cycle that is similar to the U.S. equivalence of middle school. After this, they will advance
to secondary grade cycles. Within the orientation and secondary grade cycles, students are tracked and
take differing course loads depending on their academic performance.

iPhone 5C
Having an effective phone is almost a necessity in today s technologically advanced age. The iPhone
5c is the most valuable phone on the market today. It is more cost effective than its competitors,
cosmetically pleasing, and has more advance features. Because of that, the iPhone 5c appeals to a
substantial audience. iPhone 5c is more capable and unique than any other phone on the planet.
Apple introduced the original iPhone in 2007. According to Ritchie instantly obsoleting every other
smartphone on the market in every way that mattered The original iPhone while not being as advanced
2013 iPhones, it was still very advanced for its time. Over the next two years, the iPhone 3G and 3GS,
Apple increased functionality while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The iPhone 5c also has a new face time high definition camera; perfect for taking self portraits. It also
comes with iOS 7 pre installed. iOS 7 is designed to complement the iPhone 5c beautifully. The
wallpapers are colored matched to the exterior. If you have a blue iPhone 5c than your preset
wallpaper will match your exterior seamlessly. That attention to detail blurs the line of software and
hardware together. The iPhone 5c will feel familiar but feel new at the same time.
The iPhone 5c is more cost effective than other phones. The iPhone 5c is not as graduated or evolved
as the iPhone 5s. The difference shows in price. The 5c is around two hundred dollars less than the
iPhone 5s; which brings the 5c its own appeal. The iPhone 5s has a finger print scanner for security,
which is the only thing that iPhone 5c users will be missing. That makes the finger print scanner worth
two hundred dollars. In other words, the user is not missing much with buying the iPhone 5c. The
iPhone 5c is the best investment for a quick and capable phone.

Lord Capulet Fatherhood Quotes
Not every person is what they appear to be when you first meet them. The Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, beholds a tragic love story and a feud between two
families. During the time period in which the play took place, marriages were not an act of love, but
rather parents typically would choose the right husband for their daughter. However, as the head of the
Capulet household, Lord Capulet, has different intentions on marriage for his daughter, Juliet. In the
beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet is relaxed when it comes to fatherhood, but his attitude
gradually shifts to being more controlling, and eventually, he becomes cruel, forcing his daughter to
marry, which ends in tragedy for her and his family. Lord Capulet comes off relaxed in fatherhood in
the beginning of Romeo and Juliet. Early on in the play, a fight breaks out again between two wealthy
families, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is revealed during a party he decided to throw so his loving daughter Juliet could meet Paris.
While no Montagues were invited to this party held by the Capulets, Romeo, son of Lord Montague,
showed up. Juliet s cousin, Tybalt, notices Romeo at the party and tells Lord Capulet. Although Lord
Capulet holds Tybalt back from getting into a fight with Romeo, Tybalt doesn t listen and continues to
rant on how Romeo is a villain. Lord Capulet, now annoyed by Tybalt s disobedience, says He shall be
endured. What, goodman boy! I say, he shall. Go to. Am I the master here, or you? Go to. You ll not
endure him! ( I, V, 76 9). Lord Capulet s outburst towards Tybalt shows yet again that he has another
more controlling side to him. He makes sure that Tybalt knows that he is not the head of the Capulet
household, but instead Lord Capulet is. Lord Capulet has different attitudes and the play reveals that
he seemingly is becoming less relaxed and more controlling as the story continues to

  • 2. The Developments Of Jean Piaget s Cognitive And Social... Cognitive and social development, as maturation progresses, is momentously crucial in the first few years of a child s life. It is a broad spectrum of aspects and ideas on how children mature cognitively. This process occurs in stages and each subsequent stage plays a vital part on the later stages. In fact, the theorists believed that this development is an active process which can be moulded in accordance with the quality of care and nurturing that the child experienced in these critical years of their life. Furthermore, a child s cognitive development is greatly influenced by biological and environmental factors such as maturation, learning opportunities, play, as well as family and society. The significance of human development from birth to adulthood manifests greatly on the concept of knowing the factors that affect their cognitive and social development. These sets of data determine the foundation of one s behaviour and personality which sets them out to become a productive member of the society. If too controlled or criticised, it can affect the child s creativity, self esteem and ability to make appropriate decisions that can be life altering. Thus, striking a healthy balance between encouragement and discipline from the carer is essential. Jean Piaget, one of the well established name in psychology, conceived that children actively gain knowledge through manipulation and interaction with objects around them. Drug testing in sports is a significant issue, even though people don t take it as serious as they should. This happens because players in sports either don t have knowledge about steroids, or they feel the need to make themselves look bigger. The problem is when they do take this drug, the players get away with it, and become better than everyone else. That s why I think drug testing should alter their way of testing to make the games even. It all starts when players use the performance enhancing drugs and pass the drug test. In his short story A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Ernest Hemingway, uses his usual style of elegant, yet unembellished, prose to depict one late night interaction between an old man, a young waiter, and an older waiter. The story takes place at a café in Madrid, during the era following the Lost Generation and is apparent, given the contrasting perspectives of the characters. The part of the story where the young waiter refills the old man s brandy with an agitated demeanor and the old man desires nothing more than to drink continuously, as he does on a nightly basis, illuminates the broader concerns of the of the story. This passage, although centered around the story s supporting characters, unveils the idea of nothingness before the reader s introduction to the word nada. Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted Place, is a revelation to the elaborate complexity of emotional fulfillment versus the existential crisis of spiritual and emotional emptiness, between the young and the old, throughout this particular generational gap. Throughout the passage, we see the young waiter go through a wide range of emotions, beginning with him feeling irritated, which becomes perceivable after his initial statement: a terse What do you want? directed at the old man (153). He then becomes condescending, telling the old man that he will be drunk if he continues drinking, knowing that he cannot hear him and that getting drunk is, evidently, the old man s intentions (154). • 12. The Importance Of Reasoning In Critical Thinking Society today requires individuals to develop skills to make informed, thought driven decisions, rather than quick hasty decisions, in many situations both personally and professionally. Decisions like these are made based on critical thinking skills that are not inherited but developed through many years of training both of the mind and of one s thought processes. Understanding how thinking occurs and analyzing the thought processes are steps that critical thinkers use on a daily basis (Paul Elder, 2012). In addition, according to Celuch Slama (2000), critical thinking is essential to lifelong learning and is developed through improved reasoning and communication skills. Oftentimes, reasoning and thinking are used interchangeably; however, reasoning represents the higher order thinking skills (Paul Elder, 2012). Accordingly, thinking can be conscious or unconscious; however, reasoning is always conscious and requires logic (Difference Between Thinking and Reasoning, 2016). Understanding the eight elements of reasoning associated with developing intellectual traits, is important for critical thinking (Paul Elder, 2012). Reasoning always has a purpose which in turn is the goal or objective of the thought (Paul Elder, 2012). Developing a budget for Christmas shopping to prevent overspending is an example of reasoning with a purpose. Questioning or trying to figure out a problem is another element of reasoning (Celuch Slama, 1999). Asking ourselves questions, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Characteristics Of Malignant Hyperthermia ( Mh ) Abstract Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a genetically inherited, pharmacogenic disorder involving a severe malfunction within the skeletal muscles, causing them to be stuck in a contracted state. It is found to be triggered in susceptible patients by the administration of certain anesthetic agents during and after surgical procedures. It may also be activated by the use of other drugs, such as muscle relaxants and triggered by other circumstances such as stress, trauma, and even exercising. Not only are the muscles normal physiology affected, but abnormalities of the whole body occur disrupting its natural homeostasis. If it is not treated immediately, it can be fatal. Susceptibility is found in patients who have had a known family history of MH. In order for a medical professional or a patient to be prepared to handle MH one must understand how it affects the normal physiology of the body, what signs to look for, and how it can be diagnosed, treated, and prevented. There is no cure for MH, but there are specific drugs and precautionary measures that are used to prevent and treat it when a patient is susceptible. A Brief Overview of Malignant Hyperthermia Malignant Hyperthermia is a life threatening, genetic disorder that involves the skeletal muscles. It is shown through a group of schoolboys crashing on an island without any adults. Without the rules and constraints of civilization the children show humanity s true nature and raw instinct. The imperfections of man are shown through symbols in the novel such as the scar on the island, the beast, and the schoolboys who crashed onto the island. The first symbol that is used in the novel was the scar on the island. The scar was where the plane crash landed, leaving a destructive mark on the island. He looked up and down the scar. And this is what the tube done. This quote explains that the scar was made by the fuselage crashing and ripping into the earth leaving a giant gash on the island. The scar symbolizes mankind s destruction and how humans can destroy nature just by entering it. The island was untouched and resembled paradise, at the same time in the outside world a gruesome war was occurring. The carnage and havoc that reigned over society is also evident on the island. There was a clean slate for them to build a society without violence, but it did not happen because of destruction being a natural tendency of mankind. The Iraq and Iran war strained Iraq s political, and social life. Also put Iraq s economy into severe conditions. The speakers misconceptions of another woman s feelings towards himself first emerge when he believes that her gloom within at the lack of [him] seemed matching [his] at the lack of her , the repetition of lack in both lines shows that the speaker wants to relate to the woman, as well as wanting the woman to relate to him. Hardy s use of the expression seemed is a foregrounding technique to imply to the reader that nothing is as it seems due to the speaker s disillusionment regarding the unreciprocated feelings between himself and the woman. Disappointment surfaces when the speaker notices that there was glee within. rather than gloom ; the utilisation of the caesura represents the speakers moment of realisation thus the moment that his illusions of the woman transform into sheer disappointment at the fact that he is now going to be alone . • 23. Attributes Of God Within Classical Christian Theism Chapter 2 Attributes of God in Classical Christian Theism We continue our study of the history of God by looking at His attributes from a number of different viewpoints. We will first examine the view of Classical Theism, then the view of Freewill Theism, and finally that of Open Theism. We begin by defining Classical Theism, also called traditional theism or Augustinian theism. In a section entitled, The Classical Christian Concept of God, Francis Beckwith gives a short definition of Classical Theism in See the God s Fall, 59 60: Classical theism is the theism that has been believed in by most theists in Western civilization. In particular, classical theism holds that God is (1) personal and disembodied, (2) the creator and sustainer of all things, (3) omnipotent, (4) omniscient, (5) omniscient, (6) immutable and eternal, (7) perfectly good and the source of all moral values, (8) necessary, (9) the only God, (10) infinite, (11) sovereign over all things, and (12) knowable but incomprehensible. . In this paper, we will discuss only 5 of these attributes: omnipotence, immutability, impassibility, timelessness and omniscience. Gregory Boyd summarizes these 5 attributes in his book Is God to Blame? (pp 42 43) First, many theologians have assumed that if God is all powerful, omnipotent, which the Bible clearly teaches (e.g., 1Chron 29:11; Jer 32:17; Mt 19:26; Rev 1:8; 19:6), that nothing in his creation can ever thwart his will. Being only six years old at the time of the incident, I didn t truly understand the magnitude of the disaster until years later. The quality of the movie made it very clear to me just how painful being around the World Trade Center buildings during the attack was, not only for the people in the buildings that were hit, but for the people around as well. The feeling of helplessness that the bystanders must have felt in addition to the feeling of fear must have been unbearable. Second I think that people weren t necessarily sure that what they saw was a real event. Sure, it clearly happened, but the events seemed fictional because of their magnitude. I know that even though I saw footage of the attacks, it still seems surreal. The magnitude of the attack makes it seem like something that no one would expect to actually happen to us. Overall I think that those who did not turn off their cameras did something positive because we would not see so much about the attacks or ever forget them with this much visual coverage of it. I think that the events of 9/11 made a huge impact on those around that survived. In my opinion, I think that I would have felt so unbearable helpless in a situation like this. I have an altruistic sense of being so not being able to help those around me makes me feel like I failed my life s goal of helping others even though I feel that I might be in danger. 102 Minutes differs from other documentations because it is a mix of many different people s perspectives and real experiences. It shows the true, raw emotions of the attacks rather than just demonstrating the factual event. I think that 102 Minutes was more effective that other movies made about 9/11 because it showed everyone the real events, not Hollywood altered, not hiding and bias, it showed the real hurt that not only New York, but the country ... Noninfective Fluid Occur In The Middle Ear The middle ear, which can be referred to as the Tympanic membrane, is responsible for transmitting sound waves from the outer ear into the inner ear. It accomplishes this by using three bones which are called the auditory ossicles. The three bones involved are the Malleus, the incus and stapes. These bones connect the tympanic membrane (eardrum) to the oval window of the inner ear. Each bone has a special function in the transmission of vibrations that will be discussed below. Although, the middle ear is usually good at maintaining balance and free from organisms; it can also be infected from other factors and complications. The design of the Pantheon and the significance of it are directly related to a sun dial and understanding the way the sun works with the structure. It was originally built by Agrippa around 27 BC but was partially destroyed by a fire. During Hadrian s reign, he rebuilt the Pantheon enhancing its architecture along with its meaning. One reason for this is the walls of the Pantheon reach up to 20ft thick making it impossible for windows. The specific construction of the Pantheon also made it impossible for light to enter at the entrance when the front doors opened. No direct sunlight can enter from the door in the course of the whole year, owing to the northward orientation of the entrance doorway (Hannah). This was unusual for roman temples, as they normally were set to face the south so the sun could illuminate the temples year round. One explanation of the northern orientation is that the project of the building was to some extent inspired by a particular type of sundial, which captured the sunlight within a shadowy interior (Harris). With the Romans giving great significance to the sun and the detailed position and measurements made in building the Pantheon, researchers have made many findings to give reason that the Pantheon was some form of a sun dial or astronomical instrument. At the autumn equinox [September 22n d], the spot of sunlight touches the interior springing of the upper hemisphere. Then at winter solstice [December 22nd] the spot of sunlight moves up to a maximum height in the roof over the entrance. Thereafter, it moves down, touching again the base of the dome at the spring equinox [March 21st]. A suicide may be called a suicide, a homocide, an accident, or left undetermined, depending on the culture the deceased followed. As a result, nobody can truly know whether suicide rankings are real. This article explains in finite detail how if the variables on which a certain ranking is based on is changed, the ranking itself will also change especially if the ranking is both heterogenous and comprehensive as many variables are being taken into account at once. Another aspect that can change rankings is who the rankings is done by as everyone has their own opinions and thoughts and depending on what that specific person thinks or feels about a certain subject will alter how they will rank a certain subject compared to somebody else. For example if somebody was told to rank colleges based on their graduation rate performance , the school with the highest graduation rate will be ranked as first. • 43. A Brief Note On The European School System European School System European systems are intricate structures that carefully lead students on the path that compliments their strengths. With the European tracking system, referred to as university or academic/vocational streaming, according to Chmielewski (2014), it is the students who are tracked, not their courses (p.293). In this system, students do not take the same classes as their peers in other tracks. The curriculum and classes depends on the track they are on. Also, a group of studies found that for academic/vocational tracking countries socioeconomic status (SES) is highly predictive of track placement (Chmielewski, 2014, p. 298). A contributing factor to this notion is that fact that this type of tracking begins when students are much younger than with course by course tracking. Luxembourg School System In Luxembourg, the educational structure is an intricate system that begins with students attending primary grade cycles 1 4. According to Shiveley s resource on Luxembourgian educational system (2016b), each cycle lasts two years and students can be held back in cycle 1 3 depending on their performance and maturity. Once students complete cycle four, around age 10 12, they move onto orientation cycle that is similar to the U.S. equivalence of middle school. After this, they will advance to secondary grade cycles. Within the orientation and secondary grade cycles, students are tracked and take differing course loads depending on their academic performance. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
