elaborate system of underground tunnels. This island also served as an early warning station for allied

Jerry Goldsmith is a well known name when it comes to the musical world. As an American composer

Queer Theory is the best approach by which to examine Angels in America because using Queer
Theory allows us to see/ illuminates the difference between socially constructed gender and sexual
acts based on sexual identity. Queer theory argues that gender is a cultural construct, that the social
norms of men being masculine and women being feminine were manipulated as a culture to be seen as
normal. In Angel in America, Roy Cohn is an attorney with power in his work place; he expresses a

The recreation of The Spilt Avocado Painting I viewed online is what I chose to recreate because the
image captured my eye due to the shadows that appear from the top light within the painting. While
looking at the painting you can see yourself staring in the direction the reflecting shadows from the
top light. The sources of the light coming from the left of the avocado forces the shadow to overlap on
top of the other slice, which ultimately draws the observer s attention to the colour of the avocado.
Although you might notice the colour of the avocado at first, the shadows indicate a calming mood
due to the placement of the light. Additionally, the shadow is showing the direction of light, which is

Having to use an actual avocado to model and remake of this painting had its challenges. In addition, I
also did not have a blue surface to lay the avocados on to capture the same light reflection off the wall.
However, I did manage to capture most of the paintings elements in my picture recreation by the
placement of my desk lamp and by having my picture based on a white sheet of paper. I used a desk
lamp to be able to recreate the painting light sources through the direction I placed the light to create
the same shadows from the painting. The challenging part about using a desk lamp was trying to
figure out the right distance I needed to direct the light at the avocados to achieve the same shadows.
In addition, to the challenging things with the process of remaking the painting was to attain the same
position of the avocado to be able to capture the right colour intensity that displays the right
distribution of the avocado. Lastly, from all obstacles I was faced with while recreating The Split
Avocado Painting was not being able to find a blue surface to achieve the right calming
