The Physics Of Natural Space
Time Sensitive Architecture
IN RESEARCH OF NATURAL SPACE
I could only hear my heart beating; the time seemed to stop when I was riding in the wave tube.
Furthermore, I experienced the dynamic space when my body was being enclosed by the wave. I
began noticing the dynamic relationship between my body, the wave, space, and time after I started
surfing and interacted with nature.
The wave changed every second with the ocean s perpetual motion. My consciousness of time was
piqued, the sunlight reflecting and penetrating the ripples in the water s surface (Figure 1), as I rode
through the tube. The enclosing space of the tube merged with the different dimensions of light and
dynamic movement. Pure nature (water and sunlight) and the movement of wave fabricated Time
Sensitive Space. In architecture, natural building materials continue to deteriorate and change every
second by environment, as I observed the wave changing with sunlight and dynamic movement. The
rate of deterioration is decided by the material characteristics, the regional environment and the
division of building materials. Firstly, the rate of deterioration is mostly decided by the material
characteristics, especially organic natural material. Secondly, the materials were influenced by the
regional climate such as, oxidation, fading and corruption. Thirdly, the division of building materials
affects the deterioration rate in the architecture by more contact area reacting with oxygen and
moisture.

The Apology By Socrates, The Inquisitive Catalyst
Socrates, the Inquisitive Catalyst
The Apology in The Trials of Socrates is a translation of the defense Socrates makes at the trial where
he is charged with not believing in the gods recognized by the state, inventing new beliefs and modes
of thinking, and corrupting the youth of Athens. Socrates speech is more him trying to defend his logic
rather than an actual apology in our understanding of the word.
So, Socrates attempts to defend himself and his actions rather than actually apologize for it. He
explains that he has no experience with the law courts and that he will instead speak in an honest and
straight forward manner. He believes that his arrogant wisdom was conceived when a prophecy by an
oracle claimed that he was the wisest of all men. Knowing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It may be against the law, but they are fighting for what they believe in and are spreading the message
of what is actually the just action in the scenario. Like Socrates, they are putting the perseverance of
the greater good in front of their own lives. For example, in 2013, the World War II memorials were
closed off due to the government shutdown, which enraged veterans everywhere. The government was
viewed as doing this only to make a statement concerning legislation funds, but in turn cost millions
of
American workers their pay. These protests shot up everywhere to bring to light the selfishness and
unjust reasons for the shutdown. It may not have been legal, but people marched down to the
memorials and protested this action because they believe in what is just, and that you cannot shut
down what is not yours to begin with just to make a statement. The protesters acted as a gadfly of their
own in that they tried to open up the eyes of the government to see the harm and anger they are
causing by taking advantage of basic equal rights of the American

Symptoms And Treatment Of Chronic Pain
Pain is one of the most recurrent nursing diagnosis and the most common problem for which patients
in the clinical setting seek the most help. In a common perspective, pain can refer to distressful,
unpleasant, and a painful feeling. Pain is a critical problem in the health care system and it affects
more people than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined. Chronic pain can begin with an injury
or a problem such as a problem in the lower back. Also, it can be related to headaches, back pain, joint
pain, nerve pain, or other local symptoms. There are millions of people who suffer from chronic pain
every year which effects the emotional and financial stability of the patient and their families.
Definition of Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is based on the view that acute pain signals damage tissue, whereas chronic pain results
from central and peripheral sensitization in which pain is constant after nociceptive inputs have
weakened. Defining chronic pain by duration does not indicate whether long lasting pain is clinically
significant. Some people that may have low back pain can have normal lives. Patients with unrelieved
chronic pain problems often results in the inability to work which can lead the patients unable to pay
for their health insurance (AAPM Facts and Figures on Pain, 2011). Chronic pain is known as pain
that is persisting. There are pain signals that keep firing in the nervous system for two or more
months. Another source states that the pain must last more than

The Sports And Entertainment Organization
As an Executive in the Monumental Sports and Entertainment organization, I have been tasked with
the responsibility to analyze the upcoming culmination of our broadcasting contract with CSN Mid
Atlantic. Currently, we have a partnership with CSN for the broadcasts of the Washington Capitals and
Washington Wizards games. The Capitals contract is coming to an end after the 2016/2017 season and
the Wizards contract is not until after the 2020/2021 season. With all the specifics of the current
partnership in the favor of CSN s (Steinberg, 2014), our organization has reached out with them to talk
about restructuring our deal, but had no luck as of date.
Monumental Sports and Entertainment is an enterprise that showcases both sports organizations, the
Verizon Center venue along with multiple other ones. Monumental has also started a broadcasting
network which is relatively new. The Network utilizes the internet to distribute its content and
provides fans with all news in DC sports. It currently does not broadcast Wizards or Capitals games.
We have explored the option of broadcasting the games in house and through Monumental Network.
Majority owner of Monumental and both teams, Ted Leonsis expects that Monumental Network could
one day broadcast Caps and Wizards games, in addition to other local programming. Leonsis would
like to wait until Monumental is a little but more profitable because he is dealing with player
contracts, the Verizon Center venue and labor costs in his

The Bublebee Sips Honeuy
The music of the Balinese concert recital music showed music from the village of Peliatan, Indonesia.
The concert had several performances including a full gamelan kebyar set, a performance of gamelan
kebyar with dancing performers, and a kecak performance with performers surrounding the singers.
These performances appeared to be for entertainment as the musicians are dressed in matching attire
and have arranged themselves so that can be seen by all those viewing. Also, the accompanying
dancers all had unique costumes, and are very willing to display their music to outsiders such as David
Attenborough and his film crew. The great variety in performances in the recital helps to display the
long enduring musical traditions of the Indonesian people.

involved the male performer joining in playing with the musicians at the end of the performance with

man called Mario and the female performer Mario and I Gusti Ngurah Raka helped create the female
role while the male role was danced by Anak Agunbangdi. The texture of the performance, like the
previous performance, was polyphonic as the different sections of instruments appeared to be playing
different melodies with each grouping s instruments. Also, there appeared to be little ornamentation
like the previous piece as each of the sections musicians played their distinct melodies together with a

Essay On Hate Crimes
The Stakeholders The Hate Crime Opponents The societal problem of hate crimes has many
stakeholders not only opposing hate crimes but also supporting them. Of the many stakeholders
opposing hate crimes, specifically those relating to a race bias, Black Lives Matter is the most
prominent one in the media. Black Lives Matter, which was founded on July 13, 2013, is an activist
community that strives to end the world of anti Blackness, where every Black person has the social,
economic, and political power to thrive (What We Believe). The Black Lives Matter movement has
recently been geared toward police brutality. Black Lives Matter believes that police intentionally treat
blacks differently and see them more as a threat than other races. They believe that the police inflict
violent behavior on blacks because of their skin color. The Black Lives Matter website says, We are
guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender
identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs,
immigration status, or location (What We Believe). A prominent stakeholder that opposes hate crimes
relating to a religion bias is Alliance Defending Freedom. Alliance Defending Freedom is a Christian
organization that fights to defend the religious freedoms guaranteed by the United States Constitution.

Humans Ought To Use Nature To Serve Their Own Needs Summary
In the essay Humans Ought to Use Nature to Serve Their Own Needs, Tibor R. Machan says humans
should use nature for their own wants and feel no guilt or shame about it. He feels that it is okay for
human beings to keep destroying the planet with pollution, and the toxic fumes and chemicals that we
pump into the air we breathe every day. Machan believes that because human beings are nature
themselves, we should be able to use nature however we please and indulge in activities just for our
own personal enjoyment and happiness. There are many environmental activists concerned with the
disappearing rain forests and scientists who study global warming who would be appalled at Tibor R.
Machan when he says he is grateful for all of the despoiling of our planet, not to mention everything
else he feels about exploiting nature just for fun activities. Imagine you are a scientist who studies
global warming and have seen the effects of human activity on the planet. You have studied and
watched the temperatures rising every year, the ice caps slowly melting causing sea levels to rise and
whole species becoming in fear of extinction. The evidence of global warming is staggering to you,
but still people deny it is even real, and then to read Tibor R. Machans short essay about how he is
actually grateful for the despoiling of our planet would be devastating. As a scientist who has seen the
damage the despoiling has caused, you would say that his views are completely wrong and probably

Quiet American Quotes
In The Quiet American, Phuong s character is seen but not heard. Unlike Adah, it is unknown if she
had a supportive father in her life. At the start of the novel, Phuong is introduced as Thomas Fowler s
lover; an English reporter living in Vietnam. I shut my eyes and she was again what she used to be:
she was the his of steam, the clink of a cup, she was a certain hour of the night and the promise of rest
(Greene 4). In this quote Phuong is being reduced to the sexual pleasure she once gave Thomas
Fowler. As a man, he had the power to subject her to such descriptions as she had no freedom to object
that sort of behavior. Being a woman, especially a colonized woman, Phuong experiences double
persecution. Throughout the novel she is spoken about in third person, as though she had no ... Show

For Phuong, her Vietnamese culture is compromised when she altered her physical appearance after
starting her relationship with Pyle. I saw that she was doing her hair differently, allowing it to fall back
and straight over her shoulder, I remembered that Pyle had once criticized the elaborate hairdressing
which she thought become the daughter of a mandarin (Greene 4). This quote illustrates how a man,
like Pyle had dominance over Phuong in such a way that she changed her hair and way of dress
because he preferred it that way. In Adah s case, mingling with the Western women around her gave
her more insight as to what her rights were in her marriage with Francis. Once she finds out that
Francis had been cheating on her she confronts the situation in an effort to protect her children. The
greatest mistake an African could make was to bring an educated girl to London and let her mix with
middle class English women. They soon know their rights (Emecheta 241). For Francis, Adah getting

Ovid s Metamorphoses
What can be sweeter than a mother s unconditional love? In most nuclear families, the family
members interact with each other to support and construct a home with values of love and prosperity.
However, not every home can be categorized as loving and bountiful as certain circumstances can
cause an unfortunate crisis that impacts family members to change how they perceive one another.
Revenge, being an approach to handle some circumstances, is a very common topic in Greek
mythology which, leads the characters to take justice into their own hands by any means necessary to
restore their honor. In Ovid s poem the Metamorphoses, tales of grandeur and unpleasant fates are
retold in sequence, revealing heroic people, lessons, and origins from stories ... Show more content on

In the tale Tereus, Procne, and Philomela , Tereus betrays Procne by raping and then mutilating the
tongue of her sister, Philomela, causing Procne to seek revenge from Tereus. Although her method of
revenge consists of killing her son Itys and feeding his flesh to Tereus, the sisters reach their end when
Philomela becomes a swallow and Procne becomes a nightingale. Sacrificing Itys was not an easy task
for Procne as her excess of maternal love (216) in which, Ovid intentionally phrases it with excess , to
augment her compassion for him that softens the reader s heart and makes the act of her killing him
much more moving. However, her mood quickly changes from ... her unwilling eyes were suddenly
full of hot tears that she could not control...felt her sense of purpose falter... (216) to ...[Itys] cries out
Mother! reaching for her neck, as Procne drives the blade into his side and does not turn away (217)
Ovid s purpose of using the word and phrase unwilling and does not turn away is to describe her
conflicting feelings of humanity towards Itys as she experiences brief inner turmoil by debating on
sacrificing him though, that does not stop her for what she feels is necessary to do as he looks at him
in the eyes while committing the dreadful deed. As mentioned earlier, one might argue and say that

What Are The Statistics Of Gender And Racial Differences...
Understanding statistics of gender and racial differences in advertising
Jean Roxanne Santa Cruz
University of Houston Downtown
Introduction Statistics is important in understanding the information and communicating findings to
one another (Healey, 2015). I never paid much attention to statistics before because math has always
been my least favorite subject. I was very hesitant in taking this course but many people assured me
that I could succeed and that statistics is far more interesting than any mathematical course I will ever
take. Statistics is so relevant; the more I am noticing it because of knowledge I have obtained from
this course. For example, the article I will be discussing defines the differences of gender and race
within advertising (Plous Neptune, 1997). Statistics can be used to analyze the amount of
advertisements printed, the different gender and race of models, the year and percentage amount of
gender and race bias occurs, the percentages of the exposure different gender and race models etc. I
can t say that I completely understand statistics but I very much enjoyed this course and when I read
statistical information, I at least can analyze the information given rather than just passing off random
numbers. We often need a strong proof and thoughtfully analyzed data to build and enhance our theory
and understanding of something, which is what statistics provides to make sense of the data (Healey,
2015).

Electronic Voting System in Punp
Original Question:
What is the best way to manually count ballot papers in block vote (BV) systems?
With first past the post systems, one can easily pile the ballots for each candidate, and then tally the
totals. Where there is more than one vote recorded on ballot papers, some kind of tallying system
seems unavoidable. What techniques are used in counting block vote ballots elsewhere?
Introduction
Vote counting is one of the most crucial stages in the election process. Failure to complete the count
and transmit results in a quick, transparent and accurate manner can jeopardize public confidence in
the elections and will directly affect whether candidates and political parties accept the final results.

The set of resources available should also be taken in consideration, as they will greatly influence the
count, balancing integrity, accuracy, and speed.
Most of the experts involved in this question believe that manually counting the ballots per a call and
tally approach can be a time consuming process, but on the other hand that it also helps guaranteeing
transparency, integrity and trust in the system. Basic training of the electoral officials, for example,
could be important because the effectiveness of any vote count process depends on the counting staff.
Voter education is also important, as every individual should be aware of how the votes will be
translated into seats, and how the count will proceed. And finally, the transmission of results should be
structured and transparent in order to guarantee the acceptance of the general outcome of the election.

The country adopted the Block Vote electoral system, where voters had as many votes as there were

What do you think the word agriculture chemicals mean, is it good or is it bad? What I have a hard

Summary Of Videotape By Don Delillo
How can we determine what s real? The mass media were once thought of as holding up a mirror to,
and thereby reflecting, a wider social reality. Now that reality is only definable in terms of surface
reflection of the mirror was once said by Dominic Strinati (1992). The short fiction, Videotape, was
written by Don DeLillo in 1997 published in one of his novels Underworld (1997). The themes of
postmodernism and how the role of mass media forms false representation, resulting in changes of the
meaning behind events, is centered on the story Videotape . The impact of media attracts the society to
postmodernism with the obsession of violence. Don DeLillo was influenced by several historical
events surrounding him such as the Vietnam war, John F. Kennedy Assassination, the Civil War
Rights, and the revolts that occurred afterwards. The material in his novels are described as, Living
with the dangerous times (Nance, Web). Don DeLillo was born on November 20, 1936 in Bronx, New
York. He didn t grow up with an interest in writing until his teenage years, where he began reading
during a summer job. The first novel he has ever written was called Americana, which was finally
published in 1971. The story, Videotape, demonstrates that the society is centered on death and
violence through media because it is viewed as more realistic than the actual event. One of the key
points in the story is that the accessibility of technology creates realism, which portrays daily life

stepping on the serpent of Original Sin and crowned by the Dove of the Holy Ghost. She is surrounded
by angels and by some of her customary symbols, including a spray of lilies, a palm branch, a fountain
and a mirror. The artist uses this scene to show the traditional manner of representing the Virgin s

expenses like local transport, food, gift and hotel, which cost 658 EUR, that $ 912 for 2 night at $456

The Role of Infrastructure in Information Assurance and Cyber Security
The attacks on critical infrastructure have become a growing cause of concern for governments and
private providers internationally whether caused through cybercriminals pursuing financial gain or by
hackers as political acts intended to emasculate governments and companies credibility. The anxiety
around these threats is vindicated, as research exhibits that attacks on the critical infrastructure are
greater than before in both complexity and prevalence and will endure to develop in the near future.
The site management and monitoring have progressed for critical infrastructure facilities as they have
become more increasingly connected to the internet. However, added convenience of connectivity has
turned once limited attack surface of these industries into a fertile landscape for cyber attacks. Due to
the potentially high profile impacts of attacks on critical infrastructure systems, these industries have
become even more attractive targets for cybercriminals (Cavelty, 2014).

The most influential book I have ever read was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.
Rowling. This book was the most impactful book I have read because of all of the people, fantasy
worlds, and adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to learn about a world filled with brave souls
and passionate, kind people. Through all the struggles Harry Potter and his friends, Ron Weasley and
Hermione Granger, faced they stayed loyal to each other and were courageous through all the difficult
predicaments. Additionally, many characters J.K. Rowling created are great role models to all. An
especially significant role model is the character Hermione Granger because of her brilliant and
logical thinking skills in pressured situations. Hermione taught

Lord of the Flies Chapter 4-6
Chapter 4 Summary Life on the island soon develops a daily rhythm. Morning is pleasant, with cool
air and sweet smells, and the boys are able to play happily. By afternoon, though, the sun becomes
oppressively hot, and some of the boys nap, although they are often troubled by bizarre images that
seem to flicker over the water. Piggy dismisses these images as mirages caused by sunlight striking the
water. Evening brings cooler temperatures again, but darkness falls quickly, and nighttime is
frightening and difficult. The littluns, who spend most of their days eating fruit and playing with one
another, are particularly troubled by visions and bad dreams. They continue to talk about the ... Show

Indeed, despite his position of power and responsibility in the group, Jack shows no qualms about
abusing the other boys physically. Some of the other hunters, especially Roger, seem even crueler and
less governed by moral impulses. The civilized Ralph, meanwhile, is unable to understand this
impulsive and cruel behavior, for he simply cannot conceive of how physical bullying creates a self
gratifying sense of power. The boys failure to understand each other s points of view creates a gulf
between them one that widens as resentment and open hostility set in. Chapter 5 Summary As Ralph
walks along the beach, he thinks about how much of life is an improvisation and about how a
considerable part of one s waking life is spent watching one s feet. Ralph is frustrated with his hair,
which is now long, mangy, and always manages to fall in front of his eyes. He decides to call a
meeting to attempt to bring the group back into line. Late in the evening, he blows the conch shell, and
the boys gather on the beach. At the meeting place, Ralph grips the conch shell and berates the boys
for their failure to uphold the group s rules. They have not done anything required of them: they refuse
to work at building shelters, they do not gather drinking water, they neglect the signal fire, and they do
not even use the designated toilet area. He restates the importance of the signal fire and attempts to
allay the group s growing fear

How are Abraham Lincoln and Julius Caesar alike? They were both assassinated, but they have more
in common than that. We are going to find out what Julius Caesar Abraham Lincoln have in common.
To do this, we must first know about their life independent. I will start with Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809, in Hardin County, Kentucky. During his childhood and
early life him and his family moved 3 in their life. In was at one of these homesteads that Lincoln lost
his mother. His father remarried a widow who had three children herself. His new step mother
provided Abraham more affection and guidance than his parent ever did. Abraham and his father had a

Henri Matisse Biography
Henri Matisse was a French artist during the late 19th and early 20th century. In 1941, Matisse was
diagnosed with abdominal cancer leaving him bedridden. His art moved from paintings, sculptures,
and printmakings to decoupage. With the help of assistants, Matisse produced art by arranging
colorful pre painted sheets of paper into dynamic compositions. This technique was his major medium
in the final decade of his life. Matisse created dynamic compositions using the decoupage method and
later introduced text to create his own artist books. One of Matisse s most famous books was Jazz,
first issued in 1947. Jazz contained art that featured Matisse s colorful and abstract use of decoupage.

The works of art in this book were black and white unlike the bright, vibrant colors of Jazz. Matisse
used mostly simple line work instead of shapes to imply objects and create movement. The images
were raw and felt more sketched out. Jazz created a more positive mood with its color scheme while
Pasiphaé, Chant de Minos created a calmer and less energetic mood. The typeface in Pasiphaé, Chant

Pasiphaé, Chant de Minos created a more relaxed energy to the book. Although these two artist books

Who had the more difficult choice? This question is very dependant on two important key factors. The
reader s values, and the reader s experiences. However, for me I believe that the choice made in Cover
ups was the more toilsome task. Although this may also be in part to the tone of the passages. The
reading peice Good Guys Always Win was much more juvenile and light minded, while Cover ups
had a contrasting, darker tone. The biggest conflict verbally noted in Good Guys Always Win was him
turning down money, a cute girl, and avoiding a bully who really all just wanted one small thing, with
lighthearted, exaggerated jokes made throughout, setting up a much friendlier tune, which diminishes

Contemplate any times you had to keep a secret, keeping something hidden that you knew would have
a negative outcome if release, despite the constant tugging at the back of your mind to tell someone,
and then multiply that feeling by a few hundred. Then span it over a decade. That is close to the pain
that this secret had most likely been putting Mrs. Kittredge through. However, this doesn t mean I
believe that this was the best decision to make. Keeping a story with effects that great from a child
until they are in their mid teens could be devastating to some. Richard for example, was incredibly
anxious arriving home, and that was just the anxiety of making the decision of telling them, and
although it doesn t go into detail of his feelings of when he saw his parents found out already, the

Flat Characters
In this article, Clay compares the iconic works of Charles Dickens David Copperfield, Leo Tolstoy s
War and Peace, and Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice in order to argue for the vitality of flat
characters. Through the use of these extremely contrasting novels, Clay contends that when used
correctly, flat characters can be as memorable and impactful as seen in the likes of Pride and
Prejudice. The vitality of flat characters is a pushing point of both Elizabeth s lack of a hero s journey
and proving Austen s literary ability; thereby allowing this article to have dual uses. Had Jane Austen
not made her flat characters as impactful as she did, Elizabeth may have been able to experience a
complete hero s journey. However, seeing as how Austen has expertly utilized her flat characters, as
proved by this article, Elizabeth has yet to complete her hero s journey. This article was

brings about fine points in regards to the lack of pure feminism within Pride and Prejudice. Since
feminism would be an ideal result of a hero s journey on Elizabeth s part, and such is lacking from the
novel, the points that Francis bring up to prove such a lack are relevant to our point as

Nigerian Creation Myth
There is a huge debate about how the world was created and who was first. It can also be questioned if
god created mankind or if mankind created god. There are many different beliefs to how mankind was
created but they are all connected in some way. It can be said that god came first because there needed
to be one person that then realized more people were needed on Earth as mentioned in the creation
myths for Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nigeria. These all talk about different ways that god decided how
mankind should be created. The creation myth for Venezuela starts off with the creator of Earth and
Sky, Wanadi. He then decided that he could not rule the Earth and the Sky so he made a copy of
himself to rule the Earth. When Wanadi II was on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He created these people and gave them traits that have now become societal norms. Women are the
ones who have children and have long hair. Men were the head of the household and had short hair. In
addition, he made people different by creating a variety of ethnicities and languages. Not everyone
was like him because they all have different traits that make them unique. This shows that there had to
be a god first that would be able to create all the different people in the world.
The Nigeria creation myth talks about how Obatala created land on the ground and also created people
because he got bored by himself. As he created the people out of clay, he got drunk and caused the
people to have deformities. But, he took ownership of his mistakes and now protects the people that
have deformities.
Since Obatala made a mistake that affected a lot of people it shows that a god had to have created
mankind because he is the reasoning behind people s deformities. The Yoruba people have the belief
that he protects anyone that has a deformity. Without the mistake of the god, the people on earth
would not have deformities. This is connected to the modern world because not everyone looks the
same and some people are born with deformities. People with deformities turn out to be strong and
other people do not question why some people have these deformities. The Yoruba people do not all
look the same therefore, god had to have come first so there could be differences in

In the midst of a tragedy, a person s morals and ethics can be put to the test. Under certain stressors, a
person can make decisions that drastically change the outcome of their situation. This is shown
comparatively in the readings Trifles by Susan Glaspell and Shiloh by Bobbie Ann Manson. Both
readings contain societies with stereotypical gender roles that impact the ethics of the women and men
in the stories while also making the characters questions their own morals.
In Trifles, the women uncover the dirty truth hidden away in the Wright s house. As they do this the

The Purpose Of Indian Boarding Schools
Topic 1)
What was the intended purpose of Indian boarding schools? According to the Wikipedia page, Native
American boarding schools, they were established in the United States during the late 19th and early
20th centuries to educate and [simulate] Native American children and youths according to European
standards . So, the intended purpose of the Indian boarding schools was to educate and assimilate the
children with the idea of the living the American way . The reformers wanted the children to

traditional Indian relatives. Probably, their Indian relatives were closed minded and did not want to
expose the younger generation to different things. According to the website nativepartnership.org,
reformers assumed that it was necessary to civilize Indian people (par. 2). The reformers wanted the

Their name alone invokes many vivid images; from heroic men clad in Roman red iron to bloody
battlefields, where they stand disciplined and ordered while chaos reigns all around, and even of the

men in the ancient world: The Emperors of Rome.

Causes Of Airplane Accidents
Whether people travel for business, vacation, or simply for pleasure, they must decide on what mode
of transportation to take. Sometimes, they decide that the best form of transportation is to take a plane,
and each time they enter it, they are placing their lives in the hands of a company, air traffic controller,
and most importantly, the flight crew. Although airplanes are the most convenient and quickest means
of transportation, accidents occur due to the failure of one of these three components. Statistically, the
odds of being in an airplane accident are 1 in 7,178 compared to the 1 in 98 involving cars showing
that airplanes are a safer type of transportation (5 Most Common Causes of Airplane Accidents). If for
some reason there is an accident, a spectrum of people are facing the repercussions due to it and
should consider these before deciding on taking a flight. Airplane accidents are a horrific tragedy that
affect a variety of individuals including the airline, the manufacturer of the airplane, and the families.
In the event of an accident, the airline is the earliest involved, and will be held accountable due to
various factors that contribute to the airlines negligence. One prevalent factor is security failure in
which a terrorist enters the plane before departure. In order to prepare for a terrorist attack, mock trials

Live casinos promise to bring the real time casino experience into your home and many ways they do
just that. Through a video stream setup you are able to interact with the dealer and play as if you were
at a real casino. What makes them so popular is that you forsake all the expensive costs that come
associated with land based casinos, you can bet anything and everything and do so without the need to
tip or sign up for an expensive casino membership. You ll also never need to travel far, as you can play
24/7 from wherever you are. Many live casinos also run competitions regularly, which you can get
involved in whenever you see fit. The last and probably most popular reason why people play at live
casinos is for focus. Without the casino floor distractions it can be argued that you can implement

Soft Drink Industry Case Study
1. Why, historically, has the soft drink industry been so profitable? There are several reasons why the
soft drink industry has been so profitable. One reason is because these soda companies directly
distribute to stores that sell their product. They do a good job in avoiding a middle man which would
cost a lot more. Instead, they handle all the packaging and bottling before the soda gets to the shelf so
they don t have to pay those extra costs associated with a middle man and keep all that profit. Also,
carbonated drinks are cheap to produce and have a high profit margin. Every aspect of the making and
bottling process is inexpensive so it makes it very easy to turn a profit. This is the same for both
bottles and fountain sales. For the fountain all you have to do is install the fountain and then refill it so
it is inexpensive. Another way they are profitable is because these soda companies have contracts with
stores making it impossible for competitors to sell their version of CSD s in the same location. They
put the contracts in place in order to avoid another company selling and taking their profit and also so
the stores and restaurants won t make it competitive for them when it doesn t have to be. These soda
companies also do a great job of sponsoring events in which helps promote their products which in
turn drives profit. These soda companies also partner with certain locations in order to offer incentives
if you buy the sodas. For example, if you buy a ticket to a

Flannery O Conner is known for her Southern Gothic stories and the Violence that occurs in them.
This prestigious author uses violence to create an intense rising action, a twisted climax, and also an
unforgettable falling action. In the story A Good Man is Hard to Find , O Conner grasp the readers
attention by setting a dark tone and setting that keeps the reader interested until the end of the story.
This story shows its violence when the family crashes the car, again when the misfit shows up, and
also when he shoots the grandmother in the end. Flannery uses the rising action to start of the violence
in her story. This action begins when the cat brought by the grand mother jumps onto Baileys shoulder
causing him to crash in the middle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Flannery says, she sank down in the ditch with her legs twisted under her (O Conner 433). This
makes it seem like the grand mother has about given up and accepted her inevitable fate to meet with
death. When the grandmother tries to confront the Misfit is when the climax of the story happens. She
then tries to reach toward him and then The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot
her three times through the chest (O Conner 433). This sudden act of violence was surprising due to
the way Flannery changed the mood to a more sentimental moment. The murder is perhaps a vicious
attempt at a self slaughter (Sloan 119). This guilt that the misfit has is due to the grandmother
changing his views on how he could be a good person. The Misfit wants to destroy his chances of
believing, the reason for this is he cannot find the pleasure he does in religion that he finds in murder
(Sloan 119). The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves
violence (Psalm 11:5). This bible verse helps describe the Misfit because he knows there is good
within him but his wicked ways can t be changed and his violent ways wont be accepted by the hand
of God, this is why the Misfit reacts the way he does to the grandmother. Then on top of this Flannery
describes how the grandmother is half sat and half lay in a puddle of blood (O Conner 433). This last
detailed scene of the violence is left by O Conner to create a conclusion that the violence is over and
that the story is coming to an

Reverse Discrimination Essay
Affirmative Action to Reverse Discrimination
Question at Issue Affirmative action was implemented with the idea and hope that America would
finally become truly equal. The tension of the 1960 s civil rights movement had made it very clear,
that the nation s minority and female population were not receiving equal social and economic
opportunity. The implementation of affirmative action was America s first honest attempt at solving a
problem, it had previously chose to ignore. However, there are many people that don t see affirmative
action as a positive solution to this major societal problem of racial inequality. These people feel that

best pick from a limited group. Organization Question at Issue: Does Affirmative action use reverse
discrimination to solve discrimination? Definition of A: Affirmative action is an active effort to

White Tailed Deer
It can be believed that there is a smaller abundance of Odocoileus virginianus (White Tailed Deer)
than Sciurus carolinensis (Grey Squirrels) around Alfred University. According to the History of
White Tailed Deer in New York (Brown, 1956), there is the possibility that hunting regulations keep
many of these White Tailed Deer safe compared to the lack of hunting regulations on squirrels. A
different article (Ward, 1999) which discusses the effect of poisoning on wildlife in the state of New
York. Within New York s Wildlife Resources (Goff, 1982), the habitat and reproductive habits of Grey
Squirrels. This allows for the connection to be made of whether Alfred maintains the habitat that Grey
Squirrels need. As well as in the Encyclopedia of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1912 when the buck law went into effect it was set to increase the number of deer as well as limit
the abundance of deer to prey on other organisms. This was not as simple as thought, many were
illegally killed leaving many newborns to starve during the winter. (Brown, 1956). Hunting soon
began to be open during certain date ranges during the season to allow more regulation on hunting of
the White tailed deer. (Brown, 1956). These deer prefer matured forests with practically no
undergrowth (Brown, 1956) which brings them to the same place, around Alfred, New York. Although
it may seem that there are more deer, the regulations help, but the deer don t reproduce as many,
squirrels reproduce 2 4 per litter twice a year (Frankis).
Wildlife, for the most part, is out on its own having to rummage and scour the woodlands or their
habitats for food. While looking for food it can be dangerous, poisoning of wildlife occurs all the time.
It has been found that Anticoagulant Rodenticides are commonly used in New York and this cause
many mammals to be poisoned. Of all the animals that are poisoned, the White Tailed Deer and the
Grey Squirrel are the most common. Through the use of brodifacoum in pesticides, this appears to
limit the amount of squirrels and deer in surrounding areas where most pesticides containing
brodifacoum are used. (Ward,

Edna St. Vincent Millay Research Paper
Feminism is the ability to choose what you want to do. Nancy Reagan. Feminism is something that
was almost unimaginable in the early 1900s. Many people held the same beliefs that women should be
limited to certain roles and should not be allowed to do whatever they wanted. If a woman were to
show that she wanted to do something that did not follow the social norms, many that did not think the
same way, would be upset. However, if somebody were to show their beliefs in a way that seemed
tame and calm, like poetry, they might be convinced it was fine. Edna St. Vincent Millay shows her
feminism in her poetry through expressing her feeling on free love, advocating for women s rights,
and using the poetess tradition.
Edna St. Vincent Millay was born in 1892 and raised by only her mother throughout her childhood
after her parents divorced each other. Her mother encouraged her to be an ... Show more content on

She does this throughout many of her earlier poems and by doing this she is putting her views on what
love is and how people should be unafraid to show their love out for everybody to see. This in turn is
her way of showing her feminism in her poetry. One poem that she talks about her love life openly in
is Time does not bring relief; you all have lied. In this poem she talks about missing a man that she
was in a relationship with and recently broke up with. Millay speaks of how people said that time
would heal her broken heart and that she believes that they have all lied to her. This is an example of
Millay showing her feminism because she speaks very freely of her love life to a huge audience.
Although she does not talk about how she supports free love and her expression of free love in her
personal life this poem still shows her stance on expressing yourself and being open about your love
life which is very feministic of

  • 2. The Physics Of Natural Space Time Sensitive Architecture IN RESEARCH OF NATURAL SPACE I could only hear my heart beating; the time seemed to stop when I was riding in the wave tube. Furthermore, I experienced the dynamic space when my body was being enclosed by the wave. I began noticing the dynamic relationship between my body, the wave, space, and time after I started surfing and interacted with nature. The wave changed every second with the ocean s perpetual motion. My consciousness of time was piqued, the sunlight reflecting and penetrating the ripples in the water s surface (Figure 1), as I rode through the tube. The enclosing space of the tube merged with the different dimensions of light and dynamic movement. Pure nature (water and sunlight) and the movement of wave fabricated Time Sensitive Space. In architecture, natural building materials continue to deteriorate and change every second by environment, as I observed the wave changing with sunlight and dynamic movement. The rate of deterioration is decided by the material characteristics, the regional environment and the division of building materials. Firstly, the rate of deterioration is mostly decided by the material characteristics, especially organic natural material. Secondly, the materials were influenced by the regional climate such as, oxidation, fading and corruption. Thirdly, the division of building materials affects the deterioration rate in the architecture by more contact area reacting with oxygen and moisture. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Apology By Socrates, The Inquisitive Catalyst Socrates, the Inquisitive Catalyst The Apology in The Trials of Socrates is a translation of the defense Socrates makes at the trial where he is charged with not believing in the gods recognized by the state, inventing new beliefs and modes of thinking, and corrupting the youth of Athens. Socrates speech is more him trying to defend his logic rather than an actual apology in our understanding of the word. So, Socrates attempts to defend himself and his actions rather than actually apologize for it. He explains that he has no experience with the law courts and that he will instead speak in an honest and straight forward manner. He believes that his arrogant wisdom was conceived when a prophecy by an oracle claimed that he was the wisest of all men. Knowing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It may be against the law, but they are fighting for what they believe in and are spreading the message of what is actually the just action in the scenario. Like Socrates, they are putting the perseverance of the greater good in front of their own lives. For example, in 2013, the World War II memorials were closed off due to the government shutdown, which enraged veterans everywhere. The government was viewed as doing this only to make a statement concerning legislation funds, but in turn cost millions of American workers their pay. These protests shot up everywhere to bring to light the selfishness and unjust reasons for the shutdown. It may not have been legal, but people marched down to the memorials and protested this action because they believe in what is just, and that you cannot shut down what is not yours to begin with just to make a statement. The protesters acted as a gadfly of their own in that they tried to open up the eyes of the government to see the harm and anger they are causing by taking advantage of basic equal rights of the American ... • 4. Symptoms And Treatment Of Chronic Pain Pain is one of the most recurrent nursing diagnosis and the most common problem for which patients in the clinical setting seek the most help. In a common perspective, pain can refer to distressful, unpleasant, and a painful feeling. Pain is a critical problem in the health care system and it affects more people than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined. Chronic pain can begin with an injury or a problem such as a problem in the lower back. Also, it can be related to headaches, back pain, joint pain, nerve pain, or other local symptoms. There are millions of people who suffer from chronic pain every year which effects the emotional and financial stability of the patient and their families. Definition of Chronic Pain Chronic pain is based on the view that acute pain signals damage tissue, whereas chronic pain results from central and peripheral sensitization in which pain is constant after nociceptive inputs have weakened. Defining chronic pain by duration does not indicate whether long lasting pain is clinically significant. Some people that may have low back pain can have normal lives. Patients with unrelieved chronic pain problems often results in the inability to work which can lead the patients unable to pay for their health insurance (AAPM Facts and Figures on Pain, 2011). Chronic pain is known as pain that is persisting. There are pain signals that keep firing in the nervous system for two or more months. Another source states that the pain must last more than ... The Sports And Entertainment Organization As an Executive in the Monumental Sports and Entertainment organization, I have been tasked with the responsibility to analyze the upcoming culmination of our broadcasting contract with CSN Mid Atlantic. Currently, we have a partnership with CSN for the broadcasts of the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards games. The Capitals contract is coming to an end after the 2016/2017 season and the Wizards contract is not until after the 2020/2021 season. With all the specifics of the current partnership in the favor of CSN s (Steinberg, 2014), our organization has reached out with them to talk about restructuring our deal, but had no luck as of date. Monumental Sports and Entertainment is an enterprise that showcases both sports organizations, the Verizon Center venue along with multiple other ones. Monumental has also started a broadcasting network which is relatively new. The Network utilizes the internet to distribute its content and provides fans with all news in DC sports. It currently does not broadcast Wizards or Capitals games. We have explored the option of broadcasting the games in house and through Monumental Network. Majority owner of Monumental and both teams, Ted Leonsis expects that Monumental Network could one day broadcast Caps and Wizards games, in addition to other local programming. The dance routine, called The Bublebee Sips Honeuy in English, was designed by a man called Mario and the female performer Mario and I Gusti Ngurah Raka helped create the female role while the male role was danced by Anak Agunbangdi. Of the many stakeholders opposing hate crimes, specifically those relating to a race bias, Black Lives Matter is the most prominent one in the media. Black Lives Matter, which was founded on July 13, 2013, is an activist community that strives to end the world of anti Blackness, where every Black person has the social, economic, and political power to thrive (What We Believe). • 9. Humans Ought To Use Nature To Serve Their Own Needs Summary In the essay Humans Ought to Use Nature to Serve Their Own Needs, Tibor R. Machan says humans should use nature for their own wants and feel no guilt or shame about it. He feels that it is okay for human beings to keep destroying the planet with pollution, and the toxic fumes and chemicals that we pump into the air we breathe every day. Machan believes that because human beings are nature themselves, we should be able to use nature however we please and indulge in activities just for our own personal enjoyment and happiness. There are many environmental activists concerned with the disappearing rain forests and scientists who study global warming who would be appalled at Tibor R. Machan when he says he is grateful for all of the despoiling of our planet, not to mention everything else he feels about exploiting nature just for fun activities. Imagine you are a scientist who studies global warming and have seen the effects of human activity on the planet. You have studied and watched the temperatures rising every year, the ice caps slowly melting causing sea levels to rise and whole species becoming in fear of extinction. The evidence of global warming is staggering to you, but still people deny it is even real, and then to read Tibor R. At the start of the novel, Phuong is introduced as Thomas Fowler s lover; an English reporter living in Vietnam. I shut my eyes and she was again what she used to be: she was the his of steam, the clink of a cup, she was a certain hour of the night and the promise of rest (Greene 4). In this quote Phuong is being reduced to the sexual pleasure she once gave Thomas Fowler. Understanding statistics of gender and racial differences in advertising Jean Roxanne Santa Cruz University of Houston Downtown Introduction Statistics is important in understanding the information and communicating findings to one another (Healey, 2015). I never paid much attention to statistics before because math has always been my least favorite subject. I was very hesitant in taking this course but many people assured me that I could succeed and that statistics is far more interesting than any mathematical course I will ever take. Statistics is so relevant; the more I am noticing it because of knowledge I have obtained from this course. For example, the article I will be discussing defines the differences of gender and race within advertising (Plous Neptune, 1997). Statistics can be used to analyze the amount of advertisements printed, the different gender and race of models, the year and percentage amount of gender and race bias occurs, the percentages of the exposure different gender and race models etc. I can t say that I completely understand statistics but I very much enjoyed this course and when I read statistical information, I at least can analyze the information given rather than just passing off random numbers. Each composition was thoughtfully placed to create complex yet balanced works of art. Matisse s use of black and white and line work in Pasiphaé, Chant de Minos created a more relaxed energy to the book. However, for me I believe that the choice made in Cover ups was the more toilsome task. Although this may also be in part to the tone of the passages. The reading peice Good Guys Always Win was much more juvenile and light minded, while Cover ups had a contrasting, darker tone. The biggest conflict verbally noted in Good Guys Always Win was him turning down money, a cute girl, and avoiding a bully who really all just wanted one small thing, with lighthearted, exaggerated jokes made throughout, setting up a much friendlier tune, which diminishes the size and power of the conflict. Flat Characters In this article, Clay compares the iconic works of Charles Dickens David Copperfield, Leo Tolstoy s War and Peace, and Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice in order to argue for the vitality of flat characters. Through the use of these extremely contrasting novels, Clay contends that when used correctly, flat characters can be as memorable and impactful as seen in the likes of Pride and Prejudice. The vitality of flat characters is a pushing point of both Elizabeth s lack of a hero s journey and proving Austen s literary ability; thereby allowing this article to have dual uses. Had Jane Austen not made her flat characters as impactful as she did, Elizabeth may have been able to experience a complete hero s journey. • 43. Soft Drink Industry Case Study 1. Why, historically, has the soft drink industry been so profitable? There are several reasons why the soft drink industry has been so profitable. One reason is because these soda companies directly distribute to stores that sell their product. They do a good job in avoiding a middle man which would cost a lot more. Instead, they handle all the packaging and bottling before the soda gets to the shelf so they don t have to pay those extra costs associated with a middle man and keep all that profit. Also, carbonated drinks are cheap to produce and have a high profit margin. Every aspect of the making and bottling process is inexpensive so it makes it very easy to turn a profit. This is the same for both bottles and fountain sales. For the fountain all you have to do is install the fountain and then refill it so it is inexpensive. Another way they are profitable is because these soda companies have contracts with stores making it impossible for competitors to sell their version of CSD s in the same location. They put the contracts in place in order to avoid another company selling and taking their profit and also so the stores and restaurants won t make it competitive for them when it doesn t have to be. She then tries to reach toward him and then The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest (O Conner 433). This sudden act of violence was surprising due to the way Flannery changed the mood to a more sentimental moment. The murder is perhaps a vicious attempt at a self slaughter (Sloan 119). This guilt that the misfit has is due to the grandmother changing his views on how he could be a good person. The Misfit wants to destroy his chances of believing, the reason for this is he cannot find the pleasure he does in religion that he finds in murder (Sloan 119). The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence (Psalm 11:5). This bible verse helps describe the Misfit because he knows there is good within him but his wicked ways can t be changed and his violent ways wont be accepted by the hand of God, this is why the Misfit reacts the way he does to the grandmother.
