The pitch revealing Netflix Original's "The Fraud" initial ideas and plans.

1. My pitch
My series follows a lonely teenage girl, who has broken off her
friendship with her best friend since birth. An AI appears on her
phone in which she befriends. She designs her new friend to how she
desires (girl her age, ginger hair, freckles), shots of her phone
designing, then cuts to her being made in real life (extreme
closeups). As she finalises her changes to her new friend, her AI
shows up at her door (cuts to title sequence). They become best
friends but something is off, when protagonist thinks she’s alone her
AI is watching and studying her. Slowly the AI manages to convince
the protagonist to make them look more alike. The AI captures our
protagonist and sends her to replace her in the virtual world whilst
the AI lives a normal human life. The show follows her trying to
escape the virtual world.
My opening three minutes will consist of our protagonist (Veronica
played by Laura) receiving hurtful messages from her best friend, she
then receives the friend request from the AI (played by Rebecca) in
which she accepts & begins designing her new friend. An easter egg I
have used in my piece is the popular social media app Snapchat,
which captures the attention of younger audiences & reflects the
potential dangers of the app. Then the AI turns up at her door, this is
then interrupted by the title credits building suspense.
