Avenged Sevenfold Research Papers
Avenged Sevenfold are an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999.
The band s members are lead vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Zacky
Vengeance, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Synyster Gates, bass guitarist Johnny Christ and
drummer Arin Ilejay.
They are known for their diverse rock sound and dramatic imagery in album covers and t shirts.
Avenged Sevenfold emerged with a metalcore sound on their debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
but their style had evolved by their third album and first major label release, City of Evil, into a
hard rock/heavy metal sound. The band continued to explore new sounds with their self titled
release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen
In mid 2001, it was reported that former bassist Justin Sane had attempted suicide by drinking
excessive amounts of cough syrup. The attempt had an impact on the band s Take Action Tour.
After lead guitarist Synyster Gates joined the band, at the end of 1999 when he was 18, the
introductory track To End the Rapture was re recorded featuring a full band element. The album
was subsequently re released on Hopeless Records in 2002. The band started to receive recognition,
performing with bands such as Mushroomhead and Shadows Fall and playing on the Take Action
Tour.
Having found a new bassist, Johnny Christ, the group released their second studio album titled
Waking the Fallen on Hopeless Records in August 2003. The album featured a more refined and
mature sound production in comparison to their previous album. The band received profiles in
Billboard and The Boston Globe, and played in the Vans Warped Tour. In 2004, Avenged
Sevenfold toured again on the Vans Warped Tour and recorded a video for their song Unholy
Confessions which went into rotation on MTV2 s Headbanger s Ball. Shortly after the release of
Waking the Fallen, Avenged Sevenfold left Hopeless Records and were signed to Warner Bros.
Records.
City of Evil

A Review of the Book Calabash Parkway
At first glance, Dr. Brenda DoHarris Calabash Parkway appears to be a novel about a Guyanese
woman meeting an old friend from her native land, in New York, after several years. Upon further
reading, the novel has resilient records of feminism in the protagonists Agatha, Evadne, and
Gwennie. The three are emasculated by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Living in a masculinized
country the three women refuse to succumb to their struggles of life. These powerless
characteristics of the three young women are overcome after immigrating to New York and
Canada. The first reflection of feminism is Gatha s life of poverty. The shadow of political tyranny
and economic malaise loomed over the country (DoHarris 6)1.Those living in Guyana struggled to

of adult love and protection (31). She meets Compton, a Guyanese man returning to pick up his
residence papers from the US Embassy, and quickly falls in love, marries him, and moves to
New York where he currently resides. Dr. DoHarris expounds that: Not only had Evadne been
able to snag a bridegroom, but she secured one who would be able to wisk her off de mudflat,
thousands of miles away from the stich by miserable stich existence to which she had thought
she was irrevocably wed (39). Nor are Evadne s struggles in New York any less compelling than
Gatha s. Indeed, in some ways, they may be more so; for Evadne s relationship with Compton
becomes complicated when his former lover Jennifer gives birth to his daughter, Joy; and when
Evadne and Compton buy a house from Jennifer s sister the complications erupt with Jennifer
shooting and killing Compton (DoHarris qtd in Birbalsingh p.131). Gwennie, like Evadne, struggles
with overcoming a past of being sexually abused, not by a stranger or distant relative, but by her
father. Once leaving Guyana she never returned, not even when hearing of the death of her mother.

Class notes from April 14, 2011 This presents three different sample outlines for the Preliminary
Research Report, using different research topics. I have edited the outlines somewhat, mostly by
re arranging ideas into the appropriate section (for example, moving some questions out of III and
moving them into III or vice versa). After the examples I present a brief review of style/voice in

Tupac Meaning
Interpretation of Life Goes On Tupac Shakur, in some people s opinion, was one of the greatest
rappers that s ever lived. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes
on. Life goes on, seems to be about the streets taking people s lives, and how even though you
lose someone, you can t waste time mourning because that not what the victim would want you
to do; the victim would want you to live your life because they are not coming back. The three
stanzas in the song gives the audience the feeling that Tupac has lost friend through death, jail,
and soon his time to die will come but he would not want any sad faces and tears, just happiness,
because life goes on. In verse one, the speaker seems to be describing walking through the
hallways of prison for bail. Breath Stinking/ in my jaws, implies that the artist had just awaken,
was rushed, and didn t have any time to brush his teeth because it was time for him to leave. After
leaving the prison it seems as if he was surrounded by loud people he knows that s filled with
excitement because of his release from prison. Then, ring, ring, ring, /quiet yawl/ incoming call,

Fall Of Rome Research Paper
Fall of Rome 467 A.D. The Western Roman Empire fell apart after a nearly 500 year run as the
world s greatest power. The fall can be blamed on hundreds of different elements ranging from
military failures and crippling taxation to natural calamities and even climate changes. The most
probable explanation for Western Rome s decline and decay is a chain of military losses
sustained by external forces. After the Battle of Adrianople in 378 A.D., the shocked Romans
discussed peace with the Goths. All the same, the truce would fall in 410 when the Goth King
Alaric moved west and sacked Rome. Clovis adopts Roman Christianity 496 The Frankish
Kingdom started in 481 A.D. and ended in 843 A.D., they were a Monarchy based society. At age
fifteen Clovis inherits the crown, after expanding his territory and uniting all of France he makes
his capital in Paris. When Clovis was converted to Christianity, he established a close connection
with the French monarchy and the papacy. For two hundred and fifty years, France has been full of
isolated wandering tribes, always warring against the other. Under Clovis, they became a well
ordered Christian kingdom, and it led to the establishment of the French monarchy.... Show more

The Synonyms Of Perseverance
Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th. This quote means that you are not
always gonna succeed on the first try, but if you really want to succeed, you have to work past
your failures and keep working until you can reach your goal. Perseverance. The dictionary
defines perseverance as ВЁsteady persistence in a course of action, purpose, or state, especially

Mustard Seed Supplier In Western Canad Article Summary
Economic Journal Summary of the article The third largest mustard seed supplier in Western
Canada has experienced a shortage of crops. India is another supplier of mustard seed and
rapeseed and have increased their prices to 20%, due to the heat wave that is expected at end of
October. Due to this price increase and the low supply of seeds, companies like Kraft Heinz Co
and Reckitt Benckiser, have been forced to raise the prices of their good, smaller companies with
low consumers have been most affected by this situation. Many exporters are panic buying due to
scarcity. Many businesses owners say it s not about the price, rather supply. Canadian farmers are
to blame for this as farmers sowed only 325,000 acres of mustard, which is... Show more content on

They strive best in cool climates with some moisture. They need well drained, loamy and fertile
soil to grow sufficiently. These conditions make Canadian grounds a very difficult place to grow
mustard. Since we have a climate that fluctuates between seasons, the only months that we are
able to host the breeding of mustard is in the fall seasons. This time period is not enough for
mustard to grow to its maximum potential and is far from efficient. After conducting some
research, I do not believe that Canadian farmers should continue to grow mustard because it is
putting a strain on the Canadian economy. This is because farmers who are planting mustard are
not receiving high rates of crop returns due to the unfavourable climate conditions, as a result they
are not able to supply the anticipated amounts of mustard and can not earn their maximum profit.
Canadian governments are gaining a bad reputation from the mustard shortage because the
demanded amount of mustard is not being satisfied with the scarce supply of mustard.
Consumers are also also upset because prices of mustard are higher than what it was before this
mustard crisis, therefore many want the product, but are not able to afford it. Businesses are also
angry because they now have to pay more for the price of mustard and have to compete against
other businesses for the supply of mustard and are losing consumers because they are being pushed
to raise the prices of their goods. Therefore, they are not able to meet their maximum potential
because mustard is at disequilibrium, since demand exceeds

to terms with his mother s death who has been dead for a year at the start of the story. Sheppard
hates that Norton is struggling to deal with his wife s death and he has coped by focusing on his

to be true when Rufus tears a page of the Bible and eats it, and act that would typically to be
considered sacrilegious, in order to show his faith in God and/or Jesus. O Connor believes that
people that are liberal and atheistic are wrong and egotistical. O Connor also shows that
conservatives and people that are religious can be hypocritical and egotistical. I believe that she

What Are The Strong Points Of Stewart Box Company s...
CRITICAL ISSUES
What are the strong points of Stewart Box company s current sytem?
Marketing
Stewart Box company differentiated itself from competition by focusing on custom made orders
and targeting a small niche market only. By doing this they are able to actively cater to its
customer s individual wishes, and strictly adhere to promised delivery dates.
What are the weak points of Stewart Box company s current sytem?
Marketing Reach
Stewart Box Company has a very limited customer base. They only market their products within a
radius of about 500 miles from its factory, which was located in a fairly small town. A limited
customer base results to low volume of orders which will lead to the carton factory operating
below its capacity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is very important for Stewart Box Company to be have slightly lower prices than its
competitors to be competitive in a very cutthroat industry.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Expand Market Reach
To address the underutilization of the carton factory, Stewart Box company needs to increase the
volume of their orders. They can do this by going beyond the their existing 500 mile marketing
radius. They can also further increase their volume by catering to not only custom made orders but
also catering to standard packaging sizes. By increasing sales, the capacity of the carton factory is
fully utilized, cost efficiency is improved, thereby improving the bottom line figures of the company.
Improve efficiency of factories
Stewart Box Company needs to address the Carton Factory operating under capacity. The
underutilization of this plant may cause inefficiencies in the company s operations thereby
increasing its standard costs. This inefficiency in operations is evident in the unfavorable variances
in the company s Income Statement and Spending Report.
Reevaluate Costing Method
The company should reevaluate their costing process. Costing based on estimates of annual
standard costs may be result to inaccurate cost estimates as cost of raw materials and manufacturing
equipment fluctuate within a year. The company needs to be more dynamic in their costing

Faulkner Writing Style
If the purpose of your story is to unfold the secrets at the center of your hero s life, then there is
no reason the key events or revelations need to be presented in the calendar order in which they
occurred. What is more important is that there is a march toward understanding, a sense we are
drawing ever closer to the truth wherever it may lie (Blake, 2). This statement sounds like
something I believe Faulkner would say. Faulkner s imagination was very great and this made him
a great writer. Faulkner even went to the extent of creating his own town in Yoknapatawpha
Mississippi (Meyer, 77). William Faulknerwas a great author that has amazed people throughout the
years. A statement he mentioned when he accepted his Nobel Prize really stuck to me. Problems of
the human heart in conflict with itself...alone can make good writingbecause only that is worth
writing about, worth the agony and the sweat (Faulkner, 77). Faulkner s writing style differs from
other authors because it is written in non chronological order, which opens the door to exciting
mysteries and excitement throughout the story unlike the film versions of stories such as A Rose
for Emily, which is predictable due to the sequence of event. Due to this, many individuals that
read books tend to like them more than the actual film that is developed. This can be said for many
movies including recent movies that have been released such as Harry Potter and Twilight.

Oedipus Excessive Pride
In Oedipus Rex hubris, or excessive pride, is theme that is presented throughout the text. Hubris is
the main reason for Oedipus downfall in the story because it clouds his judgement from the truth.
Oedipus coming into Thebes defeated the Sphinx and saved the city. The people of Thebes
praised him for this feat and made him their king. They viewed him as their great savior who
could was so magnificent he could do anything. Obviously, this could boost a person s ego and
make them very proud. Oedipus is very aware of how important he is by announcing Here I am
myself you all know me, the world knows my fame: I am Oedipus. This is ironic because everyone
will know his name for different reasons at the end of the play. In addition to this, Oedipus put
himself above his people by stating ...you are sick to death, all of you, but sick as you are, not one
is sick as I. Which is also ironic because he is the reason for his people s sickness. ... Show more

equal or even better, a demigod at best. Also, Oedipus speaks on behalf of the gods, especially

The Origin Of The Banshee
Connor Harkins
Jonathan Tyler
English 102 10
1 February 2017
The Banshee The banshee is a phantom that is said to wail whenever a person is about to die. It
would visit a friend or a family member of a Irish person who was dying. People are afraid of
them because it shows us our mortality. We are afraid of death because we do not know what is
on the other side, so naturally we would be afraid of the harbinger of death. The origin of the
banshee is intertwined with death as it is in its spectre form. There are many legends that the
banshee came from. It ranges from women who took alcohol to mourn the death a member of a
powerful family to ancient goddesses that the Christian church turned into a demon. No matter what

The banshee is said to be a woman that were paid with alcohol to mourn the death of a person.
The family would pay the woman, who was normally and alcoholic, in drinks to cry at the grave a
their deceased loved one to make it seem like they were very respected. The Christian church did
not like this, so came about the story of the banshee. One theory of the banshee is that they are
being punished for their insincere mourning and alcoholism. They haunt a family and not a place
unlike many ghosts. The banshee probably haunts the family out of loyalty to them from their life
of mourning for the family. The origin of the banshee goes farther than that, it has a more
supernatural myth to it.
In Irish myth, the banshee is considered a fairy and so the church says that is it a demon wailing
that it is losing souls to heaven. It is said that the banshee comes from the ancient god race known
as the Tuatha De Danann. According to Carolyn White in A History of Irish Fairies, The Tuatha De
Danann, the divine folk descended from the mother goddess Dana or Danu, were gods from
Greece (some say, of the Golden race) who came to Ireland enshrouded by a magical mist which
hid the sun and their appearance for three days and nights... (White 18). This supports the idea of
the church that the banshee is a demon, because it is the descendant of a Pagan goddess. Women
are that to be bringers of life because they give birth to children. So the tale of the banshee being the

Examples Of Zits Assumptions In Flight
Zits Assumptions In every person s life time they have and make assumptions. They make these
about themselves, other people, and situations in their life. Sometimes these are learned from the
environment a person s n or has grown up in. There are three types of assumptions. One being
paradigmatic which is the one that is engrained in you and can be hard to realize they exist. There
is the casual assumption by which you believe that if certain events happen then there will be a
certain outcome. Finally, there is the prescriptive assumption this is the assumption that you are
told that you should do something if you want another thing happen. Everybody makes
assumptions, and everybody can learn from their assumptions. In the book Flight the character Zits
has several assumptions that he changes by the end of the book, as well as my own self.
A casual assumption that zits makes throughout this book is, if he lets somebody love him and show
him affection, then he will be hurt by them. Zits has major trust issues. Everyone he has loved or
cared about has eventually left him or hurt him. His dad left him and his mom when he was born.
His mom died of cancer, which was not anyone s fault, but Zits blames his dad. When he was put
into foster care and the dads would hurt him. When he got close to Edgar a man who was native
American like his dad and he crashed the airplanes hurting Zits. Everyone he tried to show affection
to pushed him away and hurt him even more. Eventually he

Partition Of Chapel And State Essay
At the point when Thomas Jefferson initially utilized the expression mass of detachment, it is sure
that he never would have expected the contention that encompasses that term two centuries later.
The representation has turned out to be powerful to the point that more Americans are more
acquainted with Jefferson s expression than with the genuine dialect of the Constitution.{1}
In one sense, the possibility of partition of chapel and state is a precise portrayal of what must
happen between the two establishments. History is loaded with cases (e.g., the Inquisition) of the
risks that emerge when the establishments of chapel and state turn out to be excessively interwoven.
However, the contemporary idea of detachment of chapel and state goes a long ways past the
acknowledgment that the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In spite of the fact that that ought to be a conspicuous explanation, it is astounding what number of
residents (counting legal counselors and government officials) don t have the foggiest idea about
that basic actuality.
Since the expression is not in the Constitution and not even fundamentally examined by the
composers (e.g., The Federalist Papers), it is interested in wide understanding and error. The main
clear proclamation about religion in the Constitution can be found in the First Amendment and we
will take a gander at its administrative history later in this article.
Thomas Jefferson utilized the expression detachment of chapel and state when he kept in touch
with the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. At that point the expression slipped into lack of
clarity. In 1947, Justice Hugo Black restored it on account of Everson v. Leading body of
Education. He composed that the First Amendment was planned to erect a mass of division
amongst chapel and State. He included that this divider must be kept high and

Government Privacy Analysis
How much do you know about the American government? Does the government respect the
privacy of their citizens? Is the government violating Americans privacy? In 2013 a guy named
Edward Snowden released government files that prove that the government has a file for every
cell phone in America. Meaning that every text message, photo, phone call, email, etc is being
recorded, making it easier for the government to track down anyone that they want. Americans
privacy is being violated very similarly to the privacy violations in 1984, a novel written by George
Orwell. In the present day and in 1984 people could be easily tracked down and are being watched
every second, of every day. Personally I believe that the privacy shouldn t be violated for... Show

If anyone ever started to act suspicious or do unusual activity, the FBI will then pull up that
person s cell phone file, and review every text message, phone call, email, etc. Thanks to a guy
named Edward Snowden these files were released to show everyone the secret activity the
government does behind the people s backs. Edward Snowden worked for the NSA and had many
important roles. When Snowden came across these files he felt the need the documents because he
believed that these types of decisions should be determined by the public. And just like Edward
Snowden I do strongly believe that the government should not have made the decision of recording
private information without notifying us, the citizens. Even though these actions are meant to
protect and to prevent, however this is a total violation of privacy which is not ok.
In conclusion, every person with a cellular device does have a file that the government has just
in case. Cell phones are losing it s original purpose and should now be considered a tracking
device. If the government kept this secret, who knows what else they could be hiding. Personally
it s frightening to know that the government knows where you are, who you were with, how long
you were with that person, and when you went back home. Just like in 1984 you never know when

Biblical View On Homosexuality And Religion
Biblical view on Homosexuality
In the bible God divinely established the institution of marriage, and this is seen in the garden of
Eden during creation. Marriage was a special gift to man from a loving God before the fall that led
to evil and pervasion entering the spiritual world of man. Marriage was designed by our creator to
give satisfaction to a person s deepest longings for intimacy, love, appreciation and care. The views
of marriage between Christians and Jews are fundamentally different and show the different ways
that they view the world in relation to how they interpret their own doctrine and how these views
are changing over time.
According to the Christian doctrine, reasons why people get married and traditional marriages are
becoming diminished at a faster rate than ever as the culture changes. This is very true for
contemporary culture, law, and society. A growing influence in secular ideologies and practice are
undermining biblical standards in family relations and sexual morality. Marital unfaithfulness,
spousal abuse, sex before marriage, cohabitation, pornography, and promiscuity; these among other
liberated lifestyles of married couples are bringing down the intuition of marriage. Moreover,
alternative sexualities like homosexuality included and other varieties of transgender identities are
becoming increasingly mainstream. In the course of years, the strict Christian community and
Orthodox Judaism have responded to this rapidly changing landscape

How Does Trumbo Use Repetition In Johnny Got His Gun
Many popular public speakers utilize repetition in their speeches to influence a more powerful
statement, however, this also includes literature. Repetition comes in many forms that all change or
implicate different meanings and emotions within a text. Dalton Trumbo uses this technique to
envelope various themes in his stories, like Johnny Got His Gun. In the book Johnny Got his Gun,
Dalton Trumboutilizes repetition to illustrate the idiocy and brutality of war in order to demonstrate
the true and appalling nature of modern warfare and the draft.
Trumbo implicates epimone, a type of repetition that repeats a phrase that is usually a question, to
express how the principles for going to war is a foolish purpose worth dying for. When Joe is ...

At the beginning of the book Joe starts to truly realize how destroyed he is as a man, My arms
are gone. Both of my arms are gone Kareen both of them. They re gone. They ve cut my arms off
both of my arms. Oh jesus mother god Kareen they ve cut off both of them. Oh jesus mother god
Kareen Kareen Kareen my arms (38). Just by reading this excerpt, the sad cries and absolute
desolation of Joe is apparent through the use of repetition. Trumbo first repeats my arms are
gone multiple times before switching clearly to repeating they and finally to repeating Kareen .
He does this to powerfully ingrain and fix a dilemma, before placing the blame and then
showing how hopeless this situation really is. Trumbo s use of repetition was very well
organized in the sense that they pressed these ideas into the reader by repeating them and
highlighting the theme. The last use of repetition serving purposely to show what Joe is
emotionally going through by repeating Kareen , representing how Joe has become almost like
a child, or not in a powerful enough state to do anything about his issue. Trumbo emphasizes the
helplessness of being drafted and forced into abhorrent situations again, He too had been taken
away from his home. He too had been put into the service of another without his consent. He too
had been sent to a foreign country far from his native parts. He too had been forced to fight against
other slaves of his own kind in a strange place (183). Here, the repetition of he, referring to soldiers
but more so just the average man, is repeated here to emphasize how regular people are forced like
slaves to fight for people who are higher up. This strongly resembles like the quote above, just like
a child and their parents earlier, where Joe repeatedly cries out for Kareen like a child begging for
help. Really, Dalton does this to show the bigger picture which is how soldiers are

following Marvel movies since 2010. The Marvel Studios has a massive plan for connecting
their multiple produced hero movies into a mega movie creation as well as each movie had their
own epitasis. Even if one has never watched the movie series before, he or she will not get
confused about the plot as there are numerous clues to connect each movie. Matt s review is

the story have a deeper story plot. Hulk is one of the strongest heroes in the Avengers, but he does
not want to share his strength to help Dr.Banner. there are multiple options come from audiences,
but I agree with Matt s point. Hulk got great power to defeat the enemy, but he also destroyed the
human city at the same time. The human didn t appreciate his sacrifice and blames him for his
action. So that Hulk thinks the human and the earth hates him. That s the reason why he appears at
the Knowhere in Thor3. Because he doesn t want to fight for human anymore. At this movie,
Dr.Banner had called Hulk for help multiple times but Hulk never shows up. We can see the

Health Disparities And Health Care
Health disparities are present in our health care system. Whether it be racial, educational, or
environmental, these disparities exist and are detrimental to health care outcomes. While there have
been recent advancements in how to eliminate or reduce these disparities, there is still a major
inequity in healthcare for all individuals.
This paper will include definitions of health equity and health inequity, steps to reduce health
inequity, and two important decisions used to decrease in health inequity and why this reduction in
health inequity occurs. It will also include further discussion on certain steps and decisions used to
decrease health inequity.
Defining Health Equity and Inequity
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), health equity is achieved when every person
has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from
achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances (U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, 2015). Satcher (2010) reports that health inequities are
systematic, avoidable, and unjust disparities (p. 6). He also states that the World Health
Organization (WHO) concluded that social conditions are the most important determinant of a
person s health. Social conditions determine access to health services and influence lifestyle choices
(Satcher, 2010, p. 6). These determinants must be addressed in order to reduce health inequity.
Inequity can be

Analysis On Desert Valley s Budget Adjustment
INTERNAL MEMO TO: Marcus Chelford, Ted Amero, and Fernando Lapan FROM: Li Chan,
CPA DATE:December 2, 2014 SUBJECT: Activity 2A Budget Adjustment The purpose of this
memo is to describe the impact of the change in commodity prices on Desert Valley s budget and
suggest ways to mitigate this threat. We conducted some sensitivity analysis on Desert Valley s
budget to determine the expected impact of a 2% increase in the price of malt barley and wheat
grain. This is especially important given the fact that customers are not willing to increase prices
to compensate for the rising cost of these commodities. This puts pressure on Desert Valley to
absorb these price shocks and still meet its other financial objectives. As one would expect, a 2%
increase on direct materials will lead to an increase in variable costs and in turn, a decrease in
profits and contribution margin. The budget impact of this change equates to ($73,322) which
represents a (1.06%) hit to profits and a (0.86%) change in contribution margin. This shows that at
this point, small percentage changes in commodity prices have a relatively minor impact on the
company s financial position. However, if commodity prices continue to fluctuate further or if
production volumes increase then this may become a more prevalent issue. To mitigate the risk of
future commodity price changes it is recommended that Desert Valley adopt a hedging program by
purchasing forward contracts. This would allow the company to

Babylon Revisited Thesis
Throughout the time period in which the moderns were coming of age and were bearing the
weight of responsibility from the world around them there were many authors that came forth.
One such author was F. Scott Fitzgerald, who was probably one of the greatest American
authors of the twentieth century. One of his many stories that was of interest within class was
Babylon Revisited . Within the story it goes over the life of a man who has recently come off of
being a drunk and is in the midst of attempting to get his daughter back. He had made the mistake
of locking his wife out after a fight between the two in a bar, and now that she is dead he is
blamed for that. His daughter is stuck with her aunt and now that he is no longer the man he once
was he believes he should have his daughter back and be given another chance. However, it is not

and throw them on the floor (yes ladies, this includes dirty underwear). Afterwards, they order the

Film Noir Analysis
With its tone and specific style, Film Noir has become one of the prominent elements that helped
shape the American cinema. Within film noir, drama, romance, thriller, and crime are the main
genres that can be seen in noir films. From all this amalgamation of genres, the topic of whether
film noir is a genre or not does seem interesting, but it is particularly the themes and the style that
seems to generate this conversation. Film noiritself can be seen as more of a film movement than a
genre.
Paul Schrader mentions how it presents a specific period of film history, portraying the world of
dark, slick city streets, crime, and corruption. If this were to be about genres, this description would

of Robert Siodmak s 1946 film The Killers places two hitmen in a diner with a customer and two

The Killers presents it as a more dangerous place. The movie does not start straight from the diner,

Buddhism is the largest religioncultural influence in its own way. Buddhism is becoming popular
and well known in the western parts of the world. Hinduism and Buddhism share the same teaching
of karma. They both teach about the cause and effect that karma leaves on one s life. Buddhism s
main goal is to find enlightment. Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism. He was born
around 600 B.C. to a powerful family in India. He had a comfortable homewith very little
experience of the outside world. He was sheild from many outside influences such as pain, religion
and suffering. He discovered enlightment in the middle way. He discovered the Four Noble Truths :
to live is to suffer (Dukha), suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or attachment), one can eliminate
suffering by eliminating all attachments. This is attained by following the noble eightfold path. The
eightfold path consists of having a right view, speech, action, livelihood, effort , and mindfulness.
The individual teachings are common to Hinduism. karma, Maya, and a tendency to understand
reality as being pantheistic in its placment. Buddhism today is real diverse. It is divided into the
two broad categories Of Theravada and Mahayana. Theravada is a form which reserves ultimate
enlightenment and nirvana. Mahayana Buddhism extends this goal of enlightenment. Buddha

It is important to remember the ACEI block the production of angiotensin II altogether, which also
block the enzyme kinase. This mechanism allows for vasodilation, decreased blood volume, and
the suppression aldosterone: allowing for decreased blood pressure and a slight decrease in edema.
While the suppression of kinase can cause an accumulation of bradykinin in the lungs, causing a
cough, ACEIs are considered the number one go to drug for hypertension and heart failure. ARBS,
working in much the same way as ACEIs, block angiotensin II receptor sites. This allows for
kinase to work again bradykinin, and does not produce the adverse cough. Diuretics are a must in
most hypertensive patients because they decrease edema, lower blood volume, and decrease the
workload of the heart. It is important to watch for adverse side effects such as hypokalemia and
hypotension in some patients. By combining all of this knowledge with appropriate lifestyle

Laurel Hill Duke Forest Report
Laurel Hill in Duke Forest Report At Laurel Hill Duke Forest there is a large granodiorite cliff
adjacent to a river on one side. This cliff is not smooth and has several parallel fractures instead
of one steep slope. Observations of this cliff were taken in order to gather data and find possible
explanations for why this cliff is where it is located and why the river adjacent to it follows a V
shaped path. One observation was that the range of the strikes and dips of the fractures facing
river were all near parallel ranging from strike of 170 190 degrees and dips ranging from 70 90
degrees. There were other fractures oriented differently on other sides of the outcrop. Also, the
surface of the outcrop was highly weathered in some parts where the rocktype was not
distinguishable without using a rock hammer and had moss growing over it.
On the first side of the outcrop the rock when examined was greenish and had small black grains
indicative of diorite with hornblende giving the green color. The rock was similar to the outcrop
encountered at Hollow rock which also had several fractures parallel although not as many, and that
outcrop was also highly weathered. On the other side of the outcrop, the rock was incredibly

Further, a primary cause of cliff formation is erosion and weathering. Erosion and weathering
provides a plausible explanation for the location and structure of this cliff since erosion and
weathering caused by rain and wind is a common cause of cliff formation, and the observations
recorded are consistent as evidence of erosion and weathering taking place. North Carolina has a
rainy climate, so rain could definitely be a factor in weathering. The rain and wind washes away
and erodes softer rocks separating them from harder rocks forming a sharp crack after the fracture

Psychology, the science of the behaviour and the mind of a person, tries to give us a reason as to
how someone thinks, works, or treats others. Sigmund Freud, a well known psychologist during the
early 20th century created his own interpretation as to how people think. Freud explains that the
mind is separated into three different parts the Id, the Superego, and the Ego. The Id which controls
the irrational and illogical part of our brain controls our unconscious thoughts, feelings and urges.

and implement in his/her life. Kaku makes many references to physics by utilizing popular culture
references, especially to books and films, for example, Star Trek, Back to the Future, Flash

Kaku is very optimistic with the Class I impossibilities because we have technology that can
make these impossibilities possible in near future. Let s take an example regarding the
psychokinesis section. Kaku mentioned about the possibility of Radio enhanced or computer
enhanced psychokinesis. Similarly, Kaku mentioned that we are already able to develop a
technology to implant computer chips into the brain cells and we will be able to control the
computer (Physics of the Impossible 93). This shows that these types of impossibilities are
more realistic and more likely to be possible, and some of them are even possible in this century.
Let s consider the Robots, they already exist in the real world. Kaku talks about creating a force
field, and this makes sense in practical life as well. If we can defect electrons in a magnetic field
why won t be able to deflect a bullet creating a field that can be able to do it. The US military
force has already tested a short gun based Force Field Technology . According to the Tech Times,
with the help of powerful magnets, the force field used to protect battleships including X Wing
and TIE fighters from the enemies laser cannon fires and blasters can be recreated. This shows
that the concept of Force Field is not just theoretical, and likely to be practically possible in the
year to come to make kaku s

What Are The Similarities Between The French Revolution...
France and Russia both underwent powerful revolutions. The French Revolution resulted in the
overthrow of the long established Bourbon monarchy. The Russian Revolution resulted in the
overthrow of the Roman Dynasty. Both the French and Russian Revolution were the direct result of
poor economic conditions, government corruption, and unjust treatment of the lower class. The pre
revolutionary events that led up to the French and Russian Revolutions had similar, yet different
causes and effects.
The French and Russian Revolution are similar because they both attempt to remake society and
used violence against citizens who resisted the new changes. The French Revolution was caused by
a terrible dictatorship and a bad economy, like Russia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette, who were getting the tax money, were
spending it on ridiculous items, like wigs, the lower class were getting more and more upset.
Women started to protest because they could not provide for their family because of the bread
prices rising. The palace where the king and queen were staying at was being invaded by all of
the angry women which caused the king and queen to fled. Later, the Bastille, the place where
prisoners and ammunition was stored, was also stormed into. However, when Louis XVI was
executed, years later Napoleon became the first emperor of France. Napoleon had to go through a
series of successful military campaigns and create advancements in the military to gain power.
The revolution was a burden for France because it caused the Reign of Terror along with other
crisis.People were falling apart socially and politically. Napoleon helped the people of France
expand through Europe and keep Franc together after the Reign of Terror and after the many
casualties. He created new political codes and freedom to benefit the people of France. Because of
Napoleon, the French citizens demolished and redesigned their country s political

The Pieta Essay
El Greco ( The Greek ), also known as Domenicos Theotocopulos, was a painter, sculptor, and
architect of the Spanish Renaissance. El Greco was born in Crete in 1541, which was then a part
of the Republic of Venice, and the center of Post Byzantine art. He had trained and become a master
within that tradition and an icon painter. Among his great artworks, I would like to draw attention
to PietГ (The Lamentation of Christ) , an oil painting. El Grecohad painted this masterpiece about
c.1565 70 in Italy, during the Cretan period.
El Greco, at the age of 26, like other Greek artists had travelled to Venice and came under the
influence of Titian and Tintoretto. During his stay in Italy, he widened his style with aspects of
Mannerism and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a scene which is shown after Jesus was crucified, where his body has been removed from the
cross and his friends and family mourn over his body. Many artists have focused this scene by just
painting four people: the body of Christ, His mother, Saint Mary Magdalene and Joseph of
Arimathea.
El Greco s Lamentation of Christ is a translation in paint of Michelangelo s late sculptured group of
the PietГ in Florence Cathedral, at the time in Rome. The pattern and the feeling are the same.
The figures of the Dead Christ, His Mother, Saint Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea
make one compact group. Michelangelo achieved this by his new treatment of form; El Greco by
paint, by employing broader, more continuous passages of color. The more vivid colors of Rome
combine with the richer palette of Venice to convey the intensity of expression demanded by the
subject. The horizontal composition of Venice, more suited to a narrative type of subject than to
the single image, is given up and is only very rarely found appropriate in Spain. Michelangelo s
PietГ group was not the only source on which El Greco drew: the arrangement of Christ s legs
and his outspread arms, no less than the idea of viewing one of the two bearers of his body from
the side and the other from behind, derive from Michelangelo s drawing for Vittoria Colonna, in
which, as in El Greco s painting, the Virgin is placed behind and above Christ. (Web Gallery of

Planned Behavior And Cognitive Dissonance Theory
Using the Theory of Planned Behavior, Cognitive Dissonance Theory, and Self Perception Theory
as my references if a person has a damaging attitude concerning a certain person or group of
people the possible consequences of their actions toward that person or group of people can alter
the way they identify the concepts by developing the character of one of them. The theory of
planned behaviorput together numerous issues to offer improved calculation. According to this
theory, if we want to predict both intent to behave and actual behavior, we need to know three
things: (1) attitude toward that specific behavior, (2) subjective norms related to that behavior, and
(3) perceived behavioral control (Ajzen, 1991) (Feenstra, 2013). The cognitive dissonance theory
describes how our attitudes alter and has dissimilar indicators through beliefs. The self perception...

Explicit attitudes are attitudes that are at the sensible level, are consciously made and are
informal to nature description. On the other hand, implicit attitudes are attitudes that are at the
insensible level, are unwillingly made and are naturally unfamiliar to us. An explicit label is
one that you intentionally consider and account. An implicit label is one that happens external
of sensible consciousness and control. I completed the Gay Straight IAT attitude test. My results
data suggest a strong automatic preference for Straight People compared to Gay People. It was
determined that most respondents find it easier to associate Gay people with Bad and Straight
people with Good compared to the reverse. I really don t feel this way about Gay people; my true
feelings are that we are created equal. I cannot judge another person based on my upbringings
and beliefs. I feel that I should not judge a person based on their sexual preference, race, age, or
beliefs but who that person really is. Everyone have the freedom to do as they

Marry Parker Follet
Mary Parker Follett (3 September 1868 18 December 1933) was an American social worker,
management consultant and pioneer in the fields of organizational theory and organizational
behavior. She also authored a number of books and numerous essays, articles and speeches on
democracy, human relations, political philosophy, psychology, organizational behavior and conflict
resolution. Along with Lillian Gilbreth, Mary Parker Follett was one of two great women
managementgurus in the early days of classical management theory. She admonished
overmanaging employees, a process now known as micromanaging, as bossism and she is
regarded by some writers as the mother of Scientific Management. As such she was one of the first
women ever invited to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The New State, Follett ponders many of the social issues at hand today. It is a mistake to
think that social progress is to depend upon anything happening to the working people: some say
that they are to be given more material goods and all will be well; some think they are to be
given more education and the world will be saved. It is equally a mistake to think that what we
need is the conversion to unselfishness of the capitalist class. [9]
Pawelec, (1998) (now Ann Deschenes) found obscure reference pointing to Mary Parker Follet
having coined the term Transformational Leadership . She quote: Rusch, Edith A. (1991) in The
social construction of leadership: From theory to praxis discovered that writings and lectures by
Mary Parker Follet from as early as 1927 contained

A life changing experience
Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life. Caroline Leavitt. My
story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far away land,
called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a
world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the
story of an eighteen year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from
home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind
everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I
had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African
Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said
that we are moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been
stopped, and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was
making me move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was
amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which
would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA
absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the mГ©lange

  • 3. A Review of the Book Calabash Parkway At first glance, Dr. Brenda DoHarris Calabash Parkway appears to be a novel about a Guyanese woman meeting an old friend from her native land, in New York, after several years. Upon further reading, the novel has resilient records of feminism in the protagonists Agatha, Evadne, and Gwennie. The three are emasculated by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Living in a masculinized country the three women refuse to succumb to their struggles of life. These powerless characteristics of the three young women are overcome after immigrating to New York and Canada. The first reflection of feminism is Gatha s life of poverty. She meets Compton, a Guyanese man returning to pick up his residence papers from the US Embassy, and quickly falls in love, marries him, and moves to New York where he currently resides. Dr. DoHarris expounds that: Not only had Evadne been able to snag a bridegroom, but she secured one who would be able to wisk her off de mudflat, thousands of miles away from the stich by miserable stich existence to which she had thought she was irrevocably wed (39). Nor are Evadne s struggles in New York any less compelling than Gatha s. Indeed, in some ways, they may be more so; for Evadne s relationship with Compton becomes complicated when his former lover Jennifer gives birth to his daughter, Joy; and when Evadne and Compton buy a house from Jennifer s sister the complications erupt with Jennifer shooting and killing Compton (DoHarris qtd in Birbalsingh p.131). Gwennie, like Evadne, struggles with overcoming a past of being sexually abused, not by a stranger or distant relative, but by her father. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes on. • 6. Fall Of Rome Research Paper Fall of Rome 467 A.D. The Western Roman Empire fell apart after a nearly 500 year run as the world s greatest power. The fall can be blamed on hundreds of different elements ranging from military failures and crippling taxation to natural calamities and even climate changes. The most probable explanation for Western Rome s decline and decay is a chain of military losses sustained by external forces. After the Battle of Adrianople in 378 A.D., the shocked Romans discussed peace with the Goths. All the same, the truce would fall in 410 when the Goth King Alaric moved west and sacked Rome. They need well drained, loamy and fertile soil to grow sufficiently. These conditions make Canadian grounds a very difficult place to grow mustard. Since we have a climate that fluctuates between seasons, the only months that we are able to host the breeding of mustard is in the fall seasons. This time period is not enough for mustard to grow to its maximum potential and is far from efficient. After conducting some research, I do not believe that Canadian farmers should continue to grow mustard because it is putting a strain on the Canadian economy. This is because farmers who are planting mustard are not receiving high rates of crop returns due to the unfavourable climate conditions, as a result they are not able to supply the anticipated amounts of mustard and can not earn their maximum profit. Canadian governments are gaining a bad reputation from the mustard shortage because the demanded amount of mustard is not being satisfied with the scarce supply of mustard. Consumers are also also upset because prices of mustard are higher than what it was before this mustard crisis, therefore many want the product, but are not able to afford it. Businesses are also angry because they now have to pay more for the price of mustard and have to compete against other businesses for the supply of mustard and are losing consumers because they are being pushed to raise the prices of their goods. Therefore, they are not able to meet their maximum potential because mustard is at disequilibrium, since demand exceeds ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Faulkner Writing Style If the purpose of your story is to unfold the secrets at the center of your hero s life, then there is no reason the key events or revelations need to be presented in the calendar order in which they occurred. What is more important is that there is a march toward understanding, a sense we are drawing ever closer to the truth wherever it may lie (Blake, 2). This statement sounds like something I believe Faulkner would say. Faulkner s imagination was very great and this made him a great writer. Faulkner even went to the extent of creating his own town in Yoknapatawpha Mississippi (Meyer, 77). William Faulknerwas a great author that has amazed people throughout the years. A statement he mentioned when he accepted his Nobel Prize really stuck to me. Problems of the human heart in conflict with itself...alone can make good writingbecause only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat (Faulkner, 77). Faulkner s writing style differs from other authors because it is written in non chronological order, which opens the door to exciting mysteries and excitement throughout the story unlike the film versions of stories such as A Rose for Emily, which is predictable due to the sequence of event. Due to this, many individuals that read books tend to like them more than the actual film that is developed. • 16. The Origin Of The Banshee Connor Harkins Jonathan Tyler English 102 10 1 February 2017 The Banshee The banshee is a phantom that is said to wail whenever a person is about to die. It would visit a friend or a family member of a Irish person who was dying. People are afraid of them because it shows us our mortality. We are afraid of death because we do not know what is on the other side, so naturally we would be afraid of the harbinger of death. The origin of the banshee is intertwined with death as it is in its spectre form. There are many legends that the banshee came from. It ranges from women who took alcohol to mourn the death a member of a powerful family to ancient goddesses that the Christian church turned into a demon. No matter what the origin ... The family would pay the woman, who was normally and alcoholic, in drinks to cry at the grave a their deceased loved one to make it seem like they were very respected. The Christian church did not like this, so came about the story of the banshee. One theory of the banshee is that they are being punished for their insincere mourning and alcoholism. They haunt a family and not a place unlike many ghosts. The banshee probably haunts the family out of loyalty to them from their life of mourning for the family. The origin of the banshee goes farther than that, it has a more supernatural myth to it. In Irish myth, the banshee is considered a fairy and so the church says that is it a demon wailing that it is losing souls to heaven. It is said that the banshee comes from the ancient god race known as the Tuatha De Danann. According to Carolyn White in A History of Irish Fairies, The Tuatha De Danann, the divine folk descended from the mother goddess Dana or Danu, were gods from Greece (some say, of the Golden race) who came to Ireland enshrouded by a magical mist which hid the sun and their appearance for three days and nights... They make these about themselves, other people, and situations in their life. Sometimes these are learned from the environment a person s n or has grown up in. There are three types of assumptions. One being paradigmatic which is the one that is engrained in you and can be hard to realize they exist. There is the casual assumption by which you believe that if certain events happen then there will be a certain outcome. Finally, there is the prescriptive assumption this is the assumption that you are told that you should do something if you want another thing happen. Everybody makes assumptions, and everybody can learn from their assumptions. In the book Flight the character Zits has several assumptions that he changes by the end of the book, as well as my own self. A casual assumption that zits makes throughout this book is, if he lets somebody love him and show him affection, then he will be hurt by them. Zits has major trust issues. Everyone he has loved or cared about has eventually left him or hurt him. His dad left him and his mom when he was born. His mom died of cancer, which was not anyone s fault, but Zits blames his dad. The representation has turned out to be powerful to the point that more Americans are more acquainted with Jefferson s expression than with the genuine dialect of the Constitution.{1} In one sense, the possibility of partition of chapel and state is a precise portrayal of what must happen between the two establishments. Edward Snowden worked for the NSA and had many important roles. When Snowden came across these files he felt the need the documents because he believed that these types of decisions should be determined by the public. And just like Edward Snowden I do strongly believe that the government should not have made the decision of recording private information without notifying us, the citizens. • 22. Biblical View On Homosexuality And Religion Biblical view on Homosexuality In the bible God divinely established the institution of marriage, and this is seen in the garden of Eden during creation. Marriage was a special gift to man from a loving God before the fall that led to evil and pervasion entering the spiritual world of man. Marriage was designed by our creator to give satisfaction to a person s deepest longings for intimacy, love, appreciation and care. The views of marriage between Christians and Jews are fundamentally different and show the different ways that they view the world in relation to how they interpret their own doctrine and how these views are changing over time. According to the Christian doctrine, reasons why people get married and traditional marriages are becoming diminished at a faster rate than ever as the culture changes. This is very true for contemporary culture, law, and society. A growing influence in secular ideologies and practice are undermining biblical standards in family relations and sexual morality. Marital unfaithfulness, spousal abuse, sex before marriage, cohabitation, pornography, and promiscuity; these among other liberated lifestyles of married couples are bringing down the intuition of marriage. Moreover, alternative sexualities like homosexuality included and other varieties of transgender identities are becoming increasingly mainstream. How Does Trumbo Use Repetition In Johnny Got His Gun Many popular public speakers utilize repetition in their speeches to influence a more powerful statement, however, this also includes literature. Repetition comes in many forms that all change or implicate different meanings and emotions within a text. Dalton Trumbo uses this technique to envelope various themes in his stories, like Johnny Got His Gun. In the book Johnny Got his Gun, Dalton Trumboutilizes repetition to illustrate the idiocy and brutality of war in order to demonstrate the true and appalling nature of modern warfare and the draft. Trumbo implicates epimone, a type of repetition that repeats a phrase that is usually a question, to express how the principles for going to war is a foolish purpose worth dying for. When Joe is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the book Joe starts to truly realize how destroyed he is as a man, My arms are gone. Both of my arms are gone Kareen both of them. They re gone. They ve cut my arms off both of my arms. Oh jesus mother god Kareen they ve cut off both of them. Oh jesus mother god Kareen Kareen Kareen my arms (38). Just by reading this excerpt, the sad cries and absolute desolation of Joe is apparent through the use of repetition. Trumbo first repeats my arms are gone multiple times before switching clearly to repeating they and finally to repeating Kareen . He does this to powerfully ingrain and fix a dilemma, before placing the blame and then showing how hopeless this situation really is. Trumbo s use of repetition was very well organized in the sense that they pressed these ideas into the reader by repeating them and highlighting the theme. The last use of repetition serving purposely to show what Joe is emotionally going through by repeating Kareen , representing how Joe has become almost like a child, or not in a powerful enough state to do anything about his issue. Trumbo emphasizes the helplessness of being drafted and forced into abhorrent situations again, He too had been taken away from his home. He too had been put into the service of another without his consent. He too had been sent to a foreign country far from his native parts. He too had been forced to fight against other slaves of his own kind in a strange place (183). Here, the repetition of he, referring to soldiers but more so just the average man, is repeated here to emphasize how regular people are forced like slaves to fight for people who are higher up. This strongly resembles like the quote above, just like a child and their parents earlier, where Joe repeatedly cries out for Kareen like a child begging for help. Whether it be racial, educational, or environmental, these disparities exist and are detrimental to health care outcomes. While there have been recent advancements in how to eliminate or reduce these disparities, there is still a major inequity in healthcare for all individuals. This paper will include definitions of health equity and health inequity, steps to reduce health inequity, and two important decisions used to decrease in health inequity and why this reduction in health inequity occurs. It will also include further discussion on certain steps and decisions used to decrease health inequity. Defining Health Equity and Inequity According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), health equity is achieved when every person has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2015). Satcher (2010) reports that health inequities are systematic, avoidable, and unjust disparities (p. 6). He also states that the World Health Organization (WHO) concluded that social conditions are the most important determinant of a person s health. Social conditions determine access to health services and influence lifestyle choices (Satcher, 2010, p. 6). These determinants must be addressed in order to reduce health inequity. Analysis On Desert Valley s Budget Adjustment INTERNAL MEMO TO: Marcus Chelford, Ted Amero, and Fernando Lapan FROM: Li Chan, CPA DATE:December 2, 2014 SUBJECT: Activity 2A Budget Adjustment The purpose of this memo is to describe the impact of the change in commodity prices on Desert Valley s budget and suggest ways to mitigate this threat. We conducted some sensitivity analysis on Desert Valley s budget to determine the expected impact of a 2% increase in the price of malt barley and wheat grain. This is especially important given the fact that customers are not willing to increase prices to compensate for the rising cost of these commodities. This puts pressure on Desert Valley to absorb these price shocks and still meet its other financial objectives. As one would expect, a 2% increase on direct materials will lead to an increase in variable costs and in turn, a decrease in profits and contribution margin. The budget impact of this change equates to ($73,322) which represents a (1.06%) hit to profits and a (0.86%) change in contribution margin. This shows that at this point, small percentage changes in commodity prices have a relatively minor impact on the company s financial position. However, if commodity prices continue to fluctuate further or if production volumes increase then this may become a more prevalent issue. To mitigate the risk of future commodity price changes it is recommended that Desert Valley adopt a hedging program by purchasing forward contracts. This would allow the company to ... He discovered the Four Noble Truths : to live is to suffer (Dukha), suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or attachment), one can eliminate suffering by eliminating all attachments. This is attained by following the noble eightfold path. The eightfold path consists of having a right view, speech, action, livelihood, effort , and mindfulness. The pre revolutionary events that led up to the French and Russian Revolutions had similar, yet different causes and effects. The French and Russian Revolution are similar because they both attempt to remake society and used violence against citizens who resisted the new changes. The French Revolution was caused by a terrible dictatorship and a bad economy, like Russia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette, who were getting the tax money, were spending it on ridiculous items, like wigs, the lower class were getting more and more upset. • 40. The Pieta Essay El Greco ( The Greek ), also known as Domenicos Theotocopulos, was a painter, sculptor, and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. El Greco was born in Crete in 1541, which was then a part of the Republic of Venice, and the center of Post Byzantine art. He had trained and become a master within that tradition and an icon painter. Among his great artworks, I would like to draw attention to PietГ (The Lamentation of Christ) , an oil painting. El Grecohad painted this masterpiece about c.1565 70 in Italy, during the Cretan period. El Greco, at the age of 26, like other Greek artists had travelled to Venice and came under the influence of Titian and Tintoretto. During his stay in Italy, he widened his style with aspects of Mannerism and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a scene which is shown after Jesus was crucified, where his body has been removed from the cross and his friends and family mourn over his body. Many artists have focused this scene by just painting four people: the body of Christ, His mother, Saint Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea. El Greco s Lamentation of Christ is a translation in paint of Michelangelo s late sculptured group of the PietГ in Florence Cathedral, at the time in Rome. The pattern and the feeling are the same. The figures of the Dead Christ, His Mother, Saint Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea make one compact group. Michelangelo achieved this by his new treatment of form; El Greco by paint, by employing broader, more continuous passages of color. The more vivid colors of Rome combine with the richer palette of Venice to convey the intensity of expression demanded by the subject. The horizontal composition of Venice, more suited to a narrative type of subject than to the single image, is given up and is only very rarely found appropriate in Spain. Michelangelo s PietГ group was not the only source on which El Greco drew: the arrangement of Christ s legs and his outspread arms, no less than the idea of viewing one of the two bearers of his body from the side and the other from behind, derive from Michelangelo s drawing for Vittoria Colonna, in which, as in El Greco s painting, the Virgin is placed behind and above Christ. • 41. Planned Behavior And Cognitive Dissonance Theory Using the Theory of Planned Behavior, Cognitive Dissonance Theory, and Self Perception Theory as my references if a person has a damaging attitude concerning a certain person or group of people the possible consequences of their actions toward that person or group of people can alter the way they identify the concepts by developing the character of one of them. The theory of planned behaviorput together numerous issues to offer improved calculation. According to this theory, if we want to predict both intent to behave and actual behavior, we need to know three things: (1) attitude toward that specific behavior, (2) subjective norms related to that behavior, and (3) perceived behavioral control (Ajzen, 1991) (Feenstra, 2013). The cognitive dissonance theory describes how our attitudes alter and has dissimilar indicators through beliefs. The self perception... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Explicit attitudes are attitudes that are at the sensible level, are consciously made and are informal to nature description. On the other hand, implicit attitudes are attitudes that are at the insensible level, are unwillingly made and are naturally unfamiliar to us. An explicit label is one that you intentionally consider and account. An implicit label is one that happens external of sensible consciousness and control. I completed the Gay Straight IAT attitude test. My results data suggest a strong automatic preference for Straight People compared to Gay People. It was determined that most respondents find it easier to associate Gay people with Bad and Straight people with Good compared to the reverse. I really don t feel this way about Gay people; my true feelings are that we are created equal. I cannot judge another person based on my upbringings and beliefs. I feel that I should not judge a person based on their sexual preference, race, age, or beliefs but who that person really is. Everyone have the freedom to do as they ... • 42. Marry Parker Follet Mary Parker Follett (3 September 1868 18 December 1933) was an American social worker, management consultant and pioneer in the fields of organizational theory and organizational behavior. She also authored a number of books and numerous essays, articles and speeches on democracy, human relations, political philosophy, psychology, organizational behavior and conflict resolution. Along with Lillian Gilbreth, Mary Parker Follett was one of two great women managementgurus in the early days of classical management theory. She admonished overmanaging employees, a process now known as micromanaging, as bossism and she is regarded by some writers as the mother of Scientific Management. As such she was one of the first women ever invited to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The New State, Follett ponders many of the social issues at hand today. It is a mistake to think that social progress is to depend upon anything happening to the working people: some say that they are to be given more material goods and all will be well; some think they are to be given more education and the world will be saved. It is equally a mistake to think that what we need is the conversion to unselfishness of the capitalist class. [9] Pawelec, (1998) (now Ann Deschenes) found obscure reference pointing to Mary Parker Follet having coined the term Transformational Leadership . She quote: Rusch, Edith A. (1991) in The social construction of leadership: From theory to praxis discovered that writings and lectures by Mary Parker Follet from as early as 1927 contained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Life Changing Experience Ankit Bhardwaj ENG111 13D Mr. Treanor 10 November 2017 Essay 1 draft 3 A life changing experience Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life. Caroline Leavitt. My story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far away land, called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the story of an eighteen year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped, and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the mГ©lange ...
