Challenges using ICT
• Equipment of classrooms with digital media is still very low
• only 7.5 percent of cases each student in the classroom, a PC, notebook
or netbook available.
• The use of digital media in German schools is still characterized by
shortages - particularly in computers
• classic standard software , lack of concepts, the small number of training
and non-scholastic software and hardware for the digital media
• more than half of teachers to online content for their lessons or preparing
lessons
• Nearly two-thirds of respondents saw drastic improvement in this area
• digital media have opened the way to school, but not found in the
classroom
• high level of personal use and use for class preparation
• lack of methodological and didactic concepts, appropriate training and
custom hardware and software to successfully integrate digital media into
the classroom.
• 121 €, parents were annually prepared to invest
• also very conceptual support for the schools needed
(key results of the education program "Digital Media in Schools" Initiative
D21 , which interviewed by Cornelsen and Texas Instruments supports and
for which TNS over 300 teachers from all over Germany who teach
mathematics or a science subject)

8. Innovation in education
• Our school system must enable more children and young people to earn
higher education qualifications
• In schools, the strengths and individual abilities and background of each
child must be in the centre. The principle of challenging and supporting
must be followed consistently.
• The capital investment program "Zukunft Bildung und Betreuung" (future
education and care) is a federal measure to support the Länder in building
up and expanding all-day schooling in Germany. The program is one step
in an educational reform supported by federal and state governments. To
date, more than 8.200 schools profit from the capital investment program.
• All- day schools.Time for more - Education needs time!
(program "Ideas for more! Learning all the day“: Half a day is too short for
explaining the world!)
