this idea similar to or different from our "United States" view on death?
In the US we don’t “chase after it” we definitely stay as far away as possible from death. We
have different wings of the hospitals for those who are dying and when we hear of someone dying we
are sad and stay away from everyone else..
When is All Saints Day and All Souls Day celebrated?
November 1st is All Saints Day and November 2nd is All Souls Day
Even though each region in Mexico celebrates Day of the Dead differently, what are things that they
do have in common.
Colorful adornments, family reunions at burial spots, special foods, and offerings placed for the dead.

2. What are some things that are used to create an altar?
A picture of the person the altar is dedicated to; a feast; a bar of soap, a towel, and other
grooming items, because the spirit of the person has been on a long journey and needs to refresh
themselves; things that represent the person, hobbies they had when they were here on earth; if
they were married their wife or husband would put a romantic meal to the side to show their love;
incense and spices, to guide the spirit to their altar and the spices so that they can add flavor to foods
that have lost their taste to them.

violent death goes immediately to one of the 13 celestial levels of heaven. A person that dies a
natural death goes to the place of death. They go through the nine various levels of the underworld.

I think they are very intricately decorated. I love the fact that the Mexican people take so much time
to decorate something so much for one night.
