Natural Artesian Water from the island of Sardinia, Italy Acqua Smeraldina natural artesian water is a unique bottled water coming from the beautiful and pristine island of Sardinia, Italy. The remote island of Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and it is considered to be one of the environmentally cleanest areas in Europe.
The island of Sardinia Rugged, isolated, and untamed, Sardinia is perhaps the most mystical and beautiful island in the Mediterranean. Its jagged coastline and granite-mountain highlands also offer some of the most pristine scenery in all of Europe. Sardinia is home to unspoiled beaches and emerald waters, such as stunning Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast), with glamorous hotels, villas, and marinas developed by Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, which has become the playground of the rich and famous. Costa Smeralda is located about 30 miles from the source of Smeraldina water. Due to the fact that it is a sparsely populated island with very little industry and no intensive agriculture, Sardinia has remained one of the cleanest environment in Europe.
The “Mountain of God” Smeraldina pure artesian water comes from an underground aquifer 1000 feet under the Mountain of God (Monte di Deu), part of the large granite rock formation of Mount Limbara located in the north-east region of the island. For hundreds of years the region has been known for the freshness and purity of its waters.
The Company Smeraldina has been in business for over 20 years thanks to the vision and hard work of Giovanni Maria Solinas, who has transmitted his passion on this product and his focus on quality to his five sons, who are today managing the company. Smeraldina remains a privately owned company that employs state of the art technology to preserve the quality of its water and to deliver a unique product in a stylish package that can satisfy the most demanding customers in foodservice and retail channels. As a demonstration to its commitment to quality and environmental protection, Smeraldina is certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Kosher. Its research lab performs over 100 tests every day to assure that the water and the materials used are always conforming to its high standards.
