Prepare a brief fictional case study of a preschool or school-aged child with severe or profound mental
retardation or developmental disabilities.

Write the case study ina 350- to 700-word paper that includes the following items:


· Characteristics of the learner: child’s date of birth/age, cause(s) of this child’s mental retardation or
developmental disability, and the child’s current educational level

· Current educational placement or service delivery such as grade, classroom setting, least restrictive
environment considerations, and any additional services

· Assessment strategies that were used to determine educational, adaptive, and cognitive levels of
performance

An individual education plan (IEP) that includes two goals with three objectives for each goal. The
goals and objectives should focus on areas of need. Also, provide evidence of the goals’ relation to
national, state, and local standards as appropriate.
