Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy
 Entry Age 5 months and 65 years of age at the time of entry.
 Automatic Restoration of Sum Insured for Section 1 benefit only.
 Guaranteed renewal for lifetime. Sum Insured 5, 7.5,10,15,20 and 25
 Section 1: In-patient hospitalization expenses
o Covered where the hospitalization is for a minimum of 24 hours

o 101 Day-care treatments covered
o Pre-Hospitalization expenses up to 30 days prior to admission in the hospital
o Post Hospitalization expenses up to 60 days after discharge from the hospital
 Section 2: Delivery and New-Born Cover:
o Expenses for Delivery - normal delivery or by caesarean section, including Pre-natal and Post natal

o Automatic coverage for the New Born (including internal and external congenital problems) up to
the expiry of the current policy (On renewal this new born baby should be covered specifically)

 Section 3: Out-Patient Dental, Opthalmic treatment:
o Elective Dental / Ophthalmic treatments as an out-patient - once in a block of every three years
irrespective of whether a claim is made or not.
 Section 4: Hospital Cash:
o Hospital cash benefit for each completed day of hospitalization.
 Section 5: Health Check-up
o Cost of Health Check-up once after a block of every three claim-free years.
 Section 6: Bariatric Surgery
o Expenses incurred on hospitalization for bariatric surgical procedure and its complications thereof
are payable subject to a maximum of Rs.2,50,000/- during the policy period.
o This maximum limit of Rs.2,50,000/- is inclusive of pre-hospitalization and post hospitalization
expenses.
o Claim under this section shall be processed only on cashless basis.
o Coverage under this section is subject to a waiting period of 36 months and payable only while the
policy is in force

 Section 8: Option for Second Medical Opinion
o The Insured Person is given the facility of obtaining a Second Medical Opinion in electronic mode

 Any person between 18 years and 65 years of age can take this insurance for his/her family. Children can be
covered from 16th day onwards.
 This policy can be renewed for the whole life of the Insured Person.
 This policy is on Floater Basis. The entire sum insured floats among all covered persons. Family for the
purpose of this policy means self, spouse and dependent children not exceeding three in number.
 Surgeon, Anesthetist, Medical Practitioner, Consultants, Specialist Fees, Anesthesia, Blood, Oxygen and
Operation Theatre charges, Cost of Pacemaker, Cost of Medicine and drugs etc.
 More than 400 Day Care procedures
 Expenses incurred towards cost of Health Check up
 Coverage for New born Baby
 Coverage for Domiciliary hospitalization treatments
 Donor expenses for organ transplantation
 Recharge Benefit: This benefit provides additional indemnity upto specified limits, when the sum insured
under the policy is exhausted / exceeded. This can be utilized for any claim payable under the policy.
 Bonus: Bonus in respect of a claim-free year of insurance is allowable upto the limits specified. The bonus so
granted will be reduced in the same order in which it was given following a claim. However the Basic sum
insured shall not be reduced.
 Automatic Restoration of Sum Insured: There shall be automatic restoration of the Basic Sum Insured once
immediately upon exhaustion of the limit of coverage during the policy period subject to the limits specified.
This restored sum insured can be utilized, during the remaining policy period, for any other illness / diseases
unrelated to the ones for which claim/s has /have been made.

 Pre Hospitalisation expenses upto 60 days prior to admission in the hospital.
 Post Hospitalisation expenses upto 90 days after discharge from the hospital.

 Section - I - Accidental Benefits:
o a. Accidental Death Benefit (or) Permanent Disablement
o It means not only Road/Rail or Travel accidents but also includes Accidental Fall / Electric Shock /
Snake Bite / Drowning in Water / any thing other than Natural Death or Death due to Disease.
 Section – II - Hospital Expenses Benefits:
o a. Hospital Expenses due to Grievance Injuries (In patient)
 Premium Rs. 400/- Service Tax Extra. [Group Consideration]
What cannot be claimed?
 Treatment of illness/disease/sickness contracted by the insured person during the first 30 days from the
commencement date of the policy
 First 2 year Exclusions: If these are PED at the time of proposal, covered only after 24 months’ of
continuous cover with the company:
o Deviated Nasal Septum, Benign prostate hypertrophy, Hernia, Hydrocele, Congenital internal
disease/defect, Fistula in Anus, Piles, Fissures in Anus, Sinusitis, Nasal Polyps, Post trauma non
union/ mal union, Cholecystectomy, Renal stone and Gall Bladder stone removal
 First 2 years’ Exclusions: If PED at the time of proposal, treatment for the following are payable only after
24 months’ of continuous cover with the company
o Cataract, Hysterectomy (abdominal & vaginal), Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB), Fibroid Uterus,
Prolapsed Uterus, Myomectomy, Cystectomy, Treatment of Internal Derangement of Knee,
Treatment of Joint, Arthroscopic procedure, Inter vertebral Disc Prolapse, Varicose veins/ulcers,
Thyroiditis, Treatment of Goitre, Tympnoplasty, Mastoidectomy, Glacuma
 Naturopathy treatment
 Expenses which are purely diagnostic in nature with no positive existence of any disease
 Expenses incurred for non-allopathic treatment
 Treatment of external Congenital disease/defects/anomalies
 Expenses which are mainly cosmetic in nature.
