1. What Have You Learnt
Technologies From The
Process Of Constructing This
Product?
2. What key decisions did you make
about technology during pre-
production/ production/ post
production in light of technology
and skills
3. Pre Production
• We chose to use a Canon 500D DLSR camera, we
chose this one as it was readily able for us to use
at school and is easy to get the hang of how to
use it as it was our first time filming.
• We decided to use a mix of handheld and steady
shots for the title sequence. We chose to use
handheld effect because it puts the audience
through the protagonists POV, so they get a
shared experience.
• Also because of modern day ‘selfie’ culture using
the handheld and getting the actresses to interact
with the camera appeals to the the target
audience.
4. Production
• During production we taught ourselves to use the
camera and the tripod.
• The tripod was useful in getting the pans and
stabilized shots smooth.
• Me and Emily and the other actresses used our
iPhones to create lighting for some shots, such as
the ones of balaclavas on the bed. This was
because the details of the balaclavas didn't’t
show up on camera so we had to improvise.
5. Post Production
• We used FinalCut Pro to create and edit our title
sequence
• This was very successful as I had previous
experience with the application and learnt more
techniques whilst editing and the process went
smoothly.
• Such as the ‘colour 3-way corrector’ which allows
you to edit every aspect of colour on a piece of
footage, this was helpful as the footage we shot
at night was too dark on screen
