Travelers - Travel
What are your personal thoughts on traveling? Do you view everything you
can on the subject and try to create your own travel plan? There are numerous
resources available such as magazines, videos, books, and shows. So where
do you begin with your own plan? Try going through these tips to find your
starting point.
If you're going to be travelling by air, make sure you don't put any valuables
or electronics in your checked luggage. Luggage handlers aren't known to be
gentle and any electronics may end up damaged during transport. Airlines are
2. also known to lose luggage and you don't want to take a chance of losing
something valuable.
You have several insurance options when traveling. When you book a trip, you
should decide, first of all, what kind of traveler you are and your appetite for
risk, and then determine which policy or policies you should purchase to
cover contingencies on your trip. The sooner you make these insurance
decisions after booking, the less money you will pay and the more options
you will have. You may buy trip cancellation insurance, a popular option;
insurance against loss of your luggage; insurance against medical
emergencies; or even weather contingency insurance.
Remember, when traveling abroad it is better to avoid drinking the local tap
water. Most visitors will be unaccustomed to the local water, and can get quite
3. ill. It's much easier to go to the local supermarket or grocery store, and buy
bottled water instead. It cuts down your chance of sickness, as bottled water
is usually produced to the highest of standards.
No matter where you're traveling, make sure to wear sunscreen. Even if the
sun isn't shining, your exposed skin is still subject to the sun's harmful rays.
Wearing 15+ SPF sunscreen will ensure that you don't get a painful sunburn
and that your trip can be fun without the pain.
When deciding what to wear on your feet when you go on a plane ride, keep
in mind that you will be most comfortable in shoes that slip off easily. Crocs
or flip flops are best because they can be taken off or put on in an instant.
4. Put your personal ID info inside your bags. It's easy for a luggage tag to fall
of if it's hanging off your luggage. Be certain that you have good identification
both inside and outside of your bags. In this way, if the tags are accidentally
removed, your bag can still be returned to you.
Use noise-cancelling headphones. Because of all the engine and background
noise on an airplane, you have to crank the volume on your headphones up
dangerously high just to hear the music. Invest in a pair of noise-cancelling
headphones, which cancel out the background noise and let you clearly hear
your music at a reasonable volume. Even if you don't listen to music, they are
great for just reducing the noise.
5. When you plan to take an extensive travel time and own a home, it may be in
your best interest to rent out your home to make sure it is well kept while you
are gone. This will ensure that bills are paid, utilities still on, and not make
you lose money while you travel.
If you want to be able to barter overseas, bring something that is difficult to
get outside of your own country. Bourbon is a great example for Americans.
American Bourbon is nearly impossible to find outside of the United States, so
much so that other countries will pay you double the original cost.
