There is a need to screen for an ever increasing number of chemically diverse contaminants that maybe present in the environment. Typically these contaminants may only be present at very low (ppb or even ppt) concentrations and due to the the complexity of the sample matrices encountered this screening is an increasingly demanding analytical challenge.

Waters Corporation - Environmental Analysis
Environmental analysis can be extremely challenging due to the low detection levels for toxic contaminants specified by legislation, particularly in drinking water, and the complexity of matrices encountered. Consequently highly selective and sensitive detection methods are required. This presentation provides an introduction to tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry and describes the use of high sensitivity tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry for the analysis of various environmental contaminants including pesticides, endocrine disruptors and polyfluorinated compounds such as PFOS.

FDA Compliance Programme Manual : Program 7356.002A is a manual which FDA investigators follow while inspection Sterile drug manufacturing operations This guidance for FDA Investigators covers the manufacture and testing of all sterile drug products, including Drugs that are sterilized by filtration or other means, aseptically processed, and drug products that are terminally sterilized. The type of products covered by this program include Sterile bulk drugs Ophthalmic drugs Otic dosage forms Small volume parenteral (SVS) Products for small molecule and licensed biological therapeutic drug products, Large volume parenteral (LVP) products, and Any other drug products required to be sterile or labeled as sterile. Excluded under this Programme Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) regulated products Veterinary drug product At the end of this compliance guide 7356.002A questions have been given to help FDA investigators understand the manufacturing operations better and help in conduct of Inspections. Subsequent slides gives summary of these questions, which we feel, will help us prepare for an Inspection.

Sanitation plants generally involve low rates of automation, especially in Brazil. This review article makes an attempt to change this scenario by demonstrating the importance of the automation of these plants. This article describes the efficient operation of a plan submitted for the automated control systems of a Water and Sanitation Company. Several properties and issues are observed during the execution of the project. The properties observed include the integration of automation systems, instrumentation, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems). On the other hand, issues observed include the lack of precision in the processing of data, difficulty in system integration and security issues among other things. The aim of this paper is to analyze the importance of process measurement and control in the operational management of the Company. The results indicate that the use of measurement and control systems leads to improved quality of processes and laboratory data. This study suggests technological tools to monitor the specific parameters of the process and presents network topology automation telemetry currently in use for executing critical analyses of the topology and security policy information employed in this environment. It describes and analyzes the automation project, from implementation issues, including justification, to aspects concerning purchasing and validation. Furthermore, it details benefits of automation, such as standardization of technology, economies of scale, time savings, increased productivity, reduced errors, increased reliability of results and the available and accessible production of knowledge, thus transforming it into a tool for decision making.

3546-1 Revision 0 February 2007 METHOD 3546 MICROWAVE EXTRACTION SW-846 is not intended to be an analytical training manual. Therefore, method procedures are written based on the assumption that they will be performed by analysts who are formally trained in at least the basic principles of chemical analysis and in the use of the subject technology. In addition, SW-846 methods, with the exception of required method use for the analysis of method-defined parameters, are intended to be guidance methods which contain general information on how to perform an analytical procedure or technique which a laboratory can use as a basic starting point for generating its own detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), either for its own general use or for a specific project application. The performance data included in this method are for guidance purposes only, and are not intended to be and must not be used as absolute QC acceptance criteria for purposes of laboratory accreditation. 1.0 SCOPE AND APPLICATION 1.1 This method is a procedure for extracting water insoluble or slightly water soluble organic compounds from soils, clays, sediments, sludges, and solid wastes. This method was developed and validated on commercially-available solvent extraction systems. Its procedure uses microwave energy to produce elevated temperature and pressure conditions (i.e., 100 - 115 EC and 50 - 175 psi) in a closed vessel containing the sample and organic solvent(s) to achieve analyte recoveries equivalent to those from Soxhlet extraction (Method 3540), using less solvent and taking significantly less time than the Soxhlet procedure. Other systems and other types of vessels may be used, provided that the analyst demonstrates appropriate performance for the specific application. 1.2 This method is applicable to the extraction of semivolatile organic compounds, organophosphorus pesticides, organochlorine pesticides, chlorinated herbicides, phenoxyacid herbicides, substituted phenols, PCBs, and PCDDs/PCDFs, which may then be analyzed by a variety of chromatographic procedures. This method may also be applicable for the extraction of additional target analytes, provided that the analyst demonstrates adequate performance for the intended application (see Method 3500 and Chapter Two). 1.3 This method has been validated for solid matrices containing from 50 to 10,000 µg/kg of semivolatile organic compounds, 250 to 2,500 µg/kg of organophosphorus pesticides, 10 to 5,000 µg/kg of organochlorine pesticides and chlorinated herbicides, 50 to 2,500 µg/kg of substituted phenols, 100 to 5,000 µg/kg of phenoxyacid herbicides, 1 to 5,000 µg/kg of PCBs, and 10 to 6000 ng/kg of PCDDs/PCDFs. This method may be applicable to samples containing these analytes at higher concentrations and may be employed after adequate performance is demonstrated for the concentrations of interest (see Method 3500). It may also be applicable to classes of analytes, to fuel types, and to ...

YOU CAN EASY WAY TO UNDERSTAND A PROCESS AND ANLYTICAL METHOD OF CLEANING VALIDATION Cleaning validation is the methodology used to assure that a cleaning process removes residues of the active pharmaceutical ingredients of the product manufactured in a piece of equipment, the cleaning aids utilized in the cleaning process and the microbial attributes.[1] All residues are removed to predetermined levels to ensure the quality of the next product manufactured is not compromised by waste from the previous product and the quality of future products using the equipment, to prevent cross-contamination and as a GMP requirement. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has strict regulation about the cleaning validation. For example, FDA requires firms to have written general procedures on how cleaning processes will be validated. Also, FDA expects the general validation procedures to address who is responsible for performing and approving the validation study, the acceptance criteria, and when revalidation will be required. FDA also require firms to conduct the validation studies in accordance with the protocols and to document the results of studies. The valuation of cleaning validation is also regulated strictly, which usually mainly covers the aspects of equipment design, cleaning process written, analytical methods and sampling. Each of these processes has their related strict rules and requirements. Regarding to the establishment of limits, FDA does not intend to set acceptance specifications or methods for determining whether a cleaning process is validated. But some limits that have been mentioned by industry include analytical detection levels such as 10 PPM, biological activity levels such as 1/1000 of the normal therapeutic dose and organoleptic levels.[2][3][4] Cleaning Validation in the context of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient manufacture may be defined as: "The process of providing documented evidence that the cleaning methods employed within a facility consistently controls potential carryover of product (including intermediates and impurities), cleaning agents and extraneous material into subsequent product to a level which is below predetermined levels".

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
