«Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2012»
has been held in Moscow on 20-22 November
This was the 12th edition of the fair uniting the interests of all
key figures of the wine industry - winemakers, experts,
oenologists, wine trade representatives, owners and
consultants of the restaurants, wine shops, wine lovers,
bloggers and journalists.
The fair is supported by the international organizations, structural
ministries and departments of RF, administration of the major
winemaking regions in Russia, Krasnodar and Rostov regions, all-
Russian specialized unions, associations and scientific institutions.
The authoritative support allows the fair to have appreciable effect on
the whole wine industry.

3. More then 250 producers from 22 countries presented more then 6500 wines.
In 2012 «Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair» was held in more extensive format upgraded by the new sections and
status events. The best of Russian winemaking companies were presented near the exposition with top wines from
Europe (Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and others).

4. More then 250 producers from 22 countries presented more then 6500 wines.
It is of special importance that the fair organizer devoted special attention to the demonstration of the domestic
winemaking capacities improving its status in the Russian market. Russia was presented by the leading
companies such as “Aurora”, “Kuban-Vino”, “Ochakovo” (“South Wine Company”), “Lefkadia”.

5. More then 250 producers from 22 countries presented more then 6500 wines.
The great collective stand on “Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair” was with the best of winemakers from Rostov
region. Even for the future our fair is included in the priority list of specialized fairs and events approved by the
Rostov region Government. “Wines from Don Valley” were presented by “Millerovskiy winery”, “Rostov plant of
Champagne Wines”, “Tsimlyanskiye Wines”, “Yantarnoye” and others.

6. Fair highlights
The fair offered the rich program full of degustations, master-classes, presentations, round tables and seminars on
actual problems of the whole industry.
The unique events in the framework of the fair were exclusive gastronomic sets of the Michelin starred chiefs from
Europe: Teresa Galeone, representing the culinary traditions of Italy, and her colleague from France with “haute
cuisine” menu, Thierry Schwartz. The wines presented on the fair became the ideal accompanying for the
gastronomic masterpieces by this winning team of chefs.

7. Fair highlights
The fair program has widen its horizons by more business events not only in the exhibition hall, but also in Moscow
restaurants, wine boutiques, retail chains and wine bars where the exhibitors had even more chances to present
their wines. On 22 November there was a special blind degustation for the professionals and wine journalists with
tasting the Old World and Russian wines in wine bar “Vintage”.

After the degustation the speech was given to Director of the analytic agency TSIFRA, Mr Vadim Drobiz, President
of the Union of the Winemakers and Oenologists of Russia, Mr Leonid Popovich, President of the Exhibition
Company “Asti Group”, organizer of the fair, Ms Nariner Bagmanyan.
The government authorities of the Russian wine industry, our every year guests, actively participate in specialized
fair events: discussions with market players, professional wine master-classes, degustations and evening cocktails.

9. Fair highlights
In the framework of the fair the results of the “Best Wine of the Year” were
announced in the “Monument” restaurant.
In the same place the Gold National Prize “For quality” was presented to its
winners.
The audience also was introduced with the second edition of the “Buyer’s Wine
Guide”, a book already with “must have” status for the Russian wine society.

Master-classes – traditional part of the «Drinks
Industry / Russian Wine Fair» program. This year the
famous winemaker from France, Mr Patrick Leon, in
addition to his already known Chateau d'Esclans 2011,
presented new Russian rose wines from “Lefkadia”.
Mr Leon is confident about the considerable growth of
consuming rose wines in Russia and that is why
leading Russian companies, such as «Lefkadia», aim
to make the really top quality wines of this type.
Other wines from Italy, Spain and Portugal also
presented their wines on 20-21 November to the
key figures of the Russian wine trade.

11. Visitors
«Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2012» was visited by about 3500 professionals (wine trade and HoReCa) from
29 countries (Russia, UK, Hong Kong, Israel, China, USA, France, Japan, Italy and others).
The fair exposition attracted great attention of the category managers and heads of wines & spirits departments of
such retail chains and wine boutiques as: Azbuka Vkusa, Island market, Aromatny Mir, Auchan, Bakhetle, Viktoria,
Karusel, Magnolia, Monetka, Perekrestok, Plus Discount, Vinberry, STK (Globus Gourmet, Zhukovka Gourmet),
Elit4Market+, Victoria Casal from TVRANDOT Gallery, Vinnaya Akademia, Sommelier, Griko, «Kollektsia Vin» and
others.

12. Visitors
As expected, already the first day of the Fair, our exhibitors had B2B meetings with the key figures of the Russian
wine trade and HoReCa. Wine boutiques and restaurants in Moscow and other Russian cities expressed a great
interest to production of our exhibitors with some preliminary signed supply agreements as a result.
