Material and methods. 76 patients having 1-3 grades of
TC were treated with standard TB pharmacotherapy. 17
patients with TC grades 2-3 underwent laser surgery with
YAG-ND laser – endovesical interstitial canalizations.
Results. Standard TB
pharmacotherapy had poor
results in 57.9% and 42.1%
could be cured. Combined
pharmacological and laser
surgical treatment
responded in a favourable manner: urinary frequency
reduced about 75%, bladder capacity increased an
average of 3.1 fold, the intensity of pain significantly
reduced. None of the patients developed true microcystis
after the combined treatment. However, in the 1-st group
this complication developed in 21.1% of the patients.
Conclusion. TC is secondary to renal TB, however quite
often renal TB may start with voiding symptoms.
Urinalysis reveals – pyuria, erythrocyturia and growth of
unspecific bacteria is possible. Laser surgery improves
the results of pharmacological therapy for TC.
