Our projectโs subjects are high school 1st students.
We think that they have to learn about each courseโs concept. Our presentation is theory central.
In 1st class, they will learn about mathematics. Solving math problems has many different ways,
so comparison is needed. By comparing their process of solving problems with each other, they
can learn how to access the problem with various perspectives. Therefore, we thought that
sharing what theyโve studied after studying with group members is effective. Also ,we thought
Jigsaw is fine to be adopted because it is explaining that shows the highest rate of efficiency of
memory.
In 2nd class, they will learn about Korean. Skills of problem solving are becoming more and
more important themselves. Thatโs because complex and not-structured problems are prevalent.
So, we adopted concept map when teaching Korean, especially non-literature. Concept map is
not only a representative tool but also a evaluation and knowledge structuring tool.
In 3rd class, they will learn about physical education. For physical education, we create a classroom lab
and theory room. Nintendo has equipped in classrooms, so that students can practice a variety of exercise.
It is also equipped with a feedback mechanism that after recording the activities.
In 4th class, we present in Korean history class, historical figures communicate with students and students
learn in dynamic environment. For this educational goal, we borrow talking dugong technology which
was used in Yeosu Expo. The most important reason why we adopted this technology in history class is
dugong was very interesting to crowds. By this technology, historical figures emerge in front of students
so this class conducts by students and figure's virtual conversation. Therefore, the learners have to deal
with the class actively and effectively participate in class.
In 5th class, they will learn about Korean geography. We have to take into account that Korea will
be unified in the future. New education curriculum will link North and South Korean information
and that will make enormous contents to study. So, I come up with 4D simulation and Jigsaw
learning. Simulation of the direct experience is fairly active learning method that could be found
in the cone of learning by Edgar Gale. Also teaching what theyโve learned to others can improve
the efficiency of memory that could be found in the learning pyramid.
