This
conceptual,
yet
functional
furniture piece is
designed to mimic the
unexpected twists and
turns of life. The ten
boxes can be arranged
in an infinite number of
ways, always creating a
new piece of furniture
to surprise a guest.
Also, the hinges may
not function as the user
would expect based
on knob positioning.
Lastly, the insides
of the cabinets all
represent good or bad
unexpected life events.
These surprises also
provide entertainment
and puzzlement to the
user.

Excite Advertising Agency Specification Drawings. Spring 2007. Interior Specifications II
At the time
of this
project, the
Red Cedar
Physical
Rehabilitation Center
in Menmoonie, WI
was going through a
redesigning process.
Plans for the expansion
had been drawn, but
no lighting plan was
set. My job was to
propose a lighting plan
for the facility based
on calculations and
techniques learned in
class. Each room was
to have an appropriate
amount of lighting and
selected fixtures. My
design took elements
from the adjoining
hospital, and also
incorporated circular
ceiling pieces.

Coyote’s
Motorcycle
Den is a
proposed
retail/repair shop
selling used bike parts
and Harley-Davidson
paraphernalia. It is also
intended to emphasize
community in its
remote South Dakota
town. As a contract for
the honors program, I
worked with a group of
ten retail management
majors in a marketing
class. Their assignment
was to create a concept
and general layout in
order to generate ideas
for their client. I was
contracted to produce
the design presentation
based on the sketches
and ideas of the class.

  • 3. At the time of this project, the Red Cedar Physical Rehabilitation Center in Menmoonie, WI was going through a redesigning process. Plans for the expansion had been drawn, but no lighting plan was set. My job was to propose a lighting plan for the facility based on calculations and techniques learned in class. Each room was to have an appropriate amount of lighting and selected fixtures. My design took elements from the adjoining hospital, and also incorporated circular ceiling pieces. As a contract for the honors program, I worked with a group of ten retail management majors in a marketing class. Their assignment was to create a concept and general layout in order to generate ideas for their client. I was contracted to produce the design presentation based on the sketches and ideas of the class. Coyote’s Motorcycle Den. Spring 2008. Honors Contract With Retail Marketing Students
