The presentation is about the student's process in creating their media product, which is a music magazine. They created multiple drafts of the front cover, contents page, and double page spreads. They compared existing magazines to help design their product. Bauer Media would be a suitable publisher as they have experience with music magazines. The target audience is teenagers aged 14-18 who are interested in metalcore music and culture. The magazine represents this social group through its language, images, and topics.
5. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? Bauer media publish a wide arrange of magazines such as - The reason I believe that Bauer would be the most likely company to publish my media product as they already have previous experience in publishing music magazines before. Also they publish magazines such as “KEERANG” and “Q” so they would already know what would be expected of the media product.
6. Dennis – this publisher doesn’t publish music magazines but publishes magazines to do with either mechanics/cars and normal and everyday life. As you can see from above Dennis publication would not be a suitable company to produce my magazines as they do not at this current moment publish any music magazine’s.
7. Future publication – This publication is similar to Bauer but not as big as of a company but publishes magazines which are quite similar like “KERRANG” which i would say is similar to style as “Metal HAMMER” which is also a rock magazine. Classic Rock Classic Prog Computer Music Future Music Guitarist Guitar Techniques Metal Hammer Rhythm Total Guitar Guitar Aficionado Guitar World Guitar World Legends Revolver As you can see from above this publisher mainly publishes music magazine’s but also publishes game and computer magazine’s but this would also be a good company to publish my media product because they have history in publishing music magazines.

11. How does your media product represent particular social groups? My media product depicts a social group other wise known as the metalcore scene this certain social group is shown as quite a violent group and I show this in the article on the double page spread and the use off language I have used within in the article. Also I do believe that the images I have used show that the band and the editor are serious and that they mean “business” and are here to stay. From the ages of 14 to 18 this product will be aimed at. Also as I have mentioned before the language I have used this is rather important as if I had used language such as the independent and the guardian newspaper they might not have understood most of it so toning the language down as if simple terms instead of more intellectual terms so this would make it appeal more to this particular social group.
12. As you can see from the picture on the right which I have took it closely represents the one on the left of the band alkaline trio but as you can also see I have tried to change it just a bit more so they are not the exact same by getting the models in my picture to cross all there arms and in the one left only the vocalist Matt Skiba has his arm’s crossed while the other two members Dan Adriano and Derek Grant do not have there arms crossed.
13. Front Cover Bright, large and unusual text stands out and captures the readers eye also stands out from the background of the magazine front cover. Cover line this is also in a bright large text and unusual which sort of goes with the cover line “KING AND EYE” i mean this by it is quite royal feeling with the word king. Image in bottom of the corner this shows there is other story’s inside the magazine which makes them want to read on and buy the magazine. Also the puff on the top right corner is to subdue the reader to buy the magazine as there is an exclusive story and this will make the reader want to read more. The cover image is a very dominant in the cover as the readers eyes will be drawn straight to it as you can see there is not a lot there but the image being so big makes it stand out more.

20. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? While I have been creating my media product I have learnt and advanced on my skills using desktop publishers such as serif page plus and using image editing software such as Photoshop elements. In these two editing software’s I have learnt and improved my techniques using such tools as the lasso tool in Photoshop or the text settings in page plus.
21. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? After I had created my preliminary task it seemed that I expected more out of it I mean that by I thought with the planning I had done it would have turned out better but going off that when we started this product I thought I would do more planning and make sure it is to the best possible attempt on a magazine. Planning which I had undertook to create my product, this is so that it would turn out better
