Alison shanks is a new Zealand athlete whose specialist event is the 3000m
individual pursuit on the velodrome. Dunedin's , new Zealand Alison shanks
has struck gold in the women's 3000m individual pursuit at the 2009 world
track cycling championships in Poland on the 23 rd of august 2012. Alison beat
Britain's Beijing Olympics silver medallist Wendy Houvenaghel , who was the
fastest qualifier for the final.
