This document discusses the development of bulletproof fabrics using pure Kevlar and a blended fabric of Kevlar and wool. It outlines the advantages and disadvantages of each material. Testing showed that the blended Kevlar-wool fabric had better tear strength, energy absorption and breathability compared to pure Kevlar. Ballistic tests found that both fabrics provided adequate protection against bullets when used in vests, though a combination of the two fabrics in a vest is recommended to reduce weight. The document promotes these bulletproof fabrics developed by the Nano Science and Technology Consortium for use in protective jackets and vests.
