11. Synonyms What do we need them for? You need to think of synonyms because the keywords don’t always work. For example, Zombie probably won’t bring up a lot of search results. But Natural Disaster might. What are the synonyms for my topic? I don’t know! You’ll need to come up with some for your homework.

1 – specifics… like location. Adding United States or Indiana to your search will narrow things down. 2 – look at the results. Skim some articles. Do you see words used that you hadn’t thought of? Add them to your list. Give an example. 3 – similar – look for the tags applied to that article by others, these can be helpful keywords 4 – try different combinations till you find what works 5- keep trying!
