The purpose of Electronic Mail Feedback is to provide a simple,

 immediate channel though which faculty can pose questions

      about the class and students can respond to them.

               (Angelo and Cross,1993, p. 327)
Limitations
                                 * Lengthy responses
                                  * Lack of response
   Suggestions                  * Access for the wrong
                                        readers
  * Use on a regular basis
  * Use before problems          * Rude or ridiculous
                                      comments
           surface
* Use in times of high stress
* Use to keep students up to
             date

No specific time or place
Honest, informal and open-ended

       process”.

  • 3. “Feedback is one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement.” (Hattie and Timperley ,2007) “Students need opportunities to give and get feedback on their learning before they are evaluated for grades.” (Angelo and Cross, 1993, p. 9)

  • 5. What is Electronic Mail Feedback? • Feedback sent and received via e mail • Opportunity for instructors to give/receive feedback • Opportunity for students to give/receive feedback • Avenue for instructors to get to know the needs of their students
  • 6.  Easy Computer Access  Be Open to Feedback  Provide Clear Instructions  Respond in Reasonable Time
  • 7. The purpose of Electronic Mail Feedback is to provide a simple, immediate channel though which faculty can pose questions about the class and students can respond to them. (Angelo and Cross,1993, p. 327)
  • 8. Limitations * Lengthy responses * Lack of response Suggestions * Access for the wrong readers * Use on a regular basis * Use before problems * Rude or ridiculous comments surface * Use in times of high stress * Use to keep students up to date
  • 9. Advantages Communication Information No specific time or place Honest, informal and open-ended
  • 10. “The best way to avoid misunderstandings is to involve learners early in the feedback process”. (Fenwick and Parsons, 2009, p.185)
