3. My First Reading
My first reaction to the poem was that the
tiny woodpecker had made himself a
home in the telephone pole, and was
watching as the weather went by. I felt
sorry that the woodpecker didn't have
any family in the pole with him.

poem is basically talking about a
woodpeckers life.

The poem says that the woodpecker
is red, and looks like it is wearing a
hood and a collar.

This author uses personification,
because it says that the woodpecker is
wearing a hood and collar of red.

Overall, I thought that the poem
was perfectly written, as I would
not change anything. I liked how
they chose a simple subject
(woodpecker), and talked about
it's life (making a home).

I once saw a little bird
Sitting in a tree
He was eating lemon curd
And was accompanied by a bee
I thought he was a nerd
Because he was a referee
His friend was very furred
And he kept staring at the sea
I told my best friend about the bee and the bird
But she just said "Sure" very sarcastically
