This document summarizes a study that reviewed iPhone applications for diabetes self-management. The study searched the iTunes store for apps with "diabetes" or "glucose" and selected 49 apps that allowed blood glucose monitoring and had an English interface. The study analyzed the apps for various features like self-monitoring, diet/activity tracking, and data sharing. It found that 19 apps were free and the average price was €2. Most apps had rich features but there were gaps in personalized education. Future areas of focus included social support, wireless sensors, and privacy-conscious designs.
