This document discusses natural selection and asks students to consider whether it is still occurring today and examples of where it may be happening. It defines natural selection as a process where heritable traits that are favorable become more common in future generations, while unfavorable traits become less common. Students are asked to discuss in groups the best bird and consider modern examples of natural selection, such as drug resistance in HIV or obesity, and whether the effects are positive or negative.
