Demonstration Thermal survey conducted with Testo 875 series Thermal Imaging camera.
Conducted in Glazed walkway between Lounge and Kitchen extension.
The homeowner is complaining of possible water leak under the tiled floor.
At the time that this Thermal and Digital image were taken, the heat pattern effect from the hot water pipes
under the floor were able to be seen in the the Thermal image, travelling the length of the walkway and now
a hot spot can be seen clearly.
Spot Temperatures have been added to the image to indicate the temperatures along the path of the pipes.
A Auto Hot spot indicator HS1 has been added to pinpoint the hottest point on the Thermal image. A
temperature profile line graph has been added to the thermal image, to highlight the temperature variation
across the tiled floor.
As can be seen, the temperature in this area has increased and is indicating an anomaly that requires
investigation.

A Thermal Survey of the Heating / Hot Water System pipework was conducted at a property as part of a
demonstration of the Testo 875 series Thermal Imaging cameras.
The thermal survey was conducted on the Heating / Hot Water system on the Ground Floor of the dwelling to
establish if there are any anomalies in the system. This survey was conducted in conjunction with an ongoing
Investigaton regarding a suspected Water Leak at the Property. As can be seen, substantial areas of the
floor had been dug up to expose the pipework in order to try to find the leak. However no leak had been
found.
Thermal images were taken of the Heating system pipework in the Kitchen, adjacent to the refrigerator and
next to the area of floor that had been exposed.. As can be seen, the Thermal Imaging camera has been
used to Trace / Highlight the Heating system pipework, located under the floor. There is a Thermal anomaly
in this section of the kitchen, Heating system pipework, which it was felt could be a leak and therefore
necessitated further investigation.
Spot temperature markers have been added to the thermal image to show the temperature variation across
the section of the floor above the heating system pipework. A Temperature Profile Line Graph has also been
added to provide further visual verification of the temperature variation across the floor / Heating system
pipework. The Auto Hot Spot indicator has also been applied to the thermal image, (HS1), to automatically
identify the hottest point in a defined area. Subsequent 14/17

pipework which was leaking.

Review:
Demonstration Thermography Report to highlight the capabilities of the Testo 875 series Thermal Imaging
camera and the Testo IR software.
This is an example report for Demonstration purposes only. The Report format is the "standard" template from
the selection of Report Templates available in the software. The images used in this report were taken with a
Testo 875-2 Thermal Imaging camera.
The Thermal images and this report are compiled to demonstrate the capability of the camera and the
software and its suitability for Trace and Access Applications, tracing the Heating and Hot Water System
pipework and locating leaks in these systems.
It should be noted that the Emissivity of individual materials / components were not taken into consideration for
the purpose of the Demonstration and therefore the indicated (Apparent),temperatures may not be truely
representative in this instance.
For this application the accuracy of the temperatures indicated is not relevant.
The purpose of the Report is to Demonstrate the capabilities of the Thermal Imaging camera and its suitability
for this application and to show the quality / Resolution of images taken and how they can be easily
transferred into a Report.
The images taken were not of any specific areas or conditions/anomalies, the images taken/used were purely
for the Demonstration of the camera and the software.
The images taken were solely for the purpose of Demonstrating the Equipment and the software, not for
specific fault finding in this instance.
Testo do not provide Consultancy /Conclusions for any of the images taken during the course of the
Demonstration.
It is not the purpose of this report to specifically identify any faults found or comment on the images, it is to
highlight the capabilities of the camera / software and its use for various applications.
Some of the features of the camera and software have been applied to the images, such as:
Spot Temperature Markers have been added to the Thermal images to indicate temperatures.
Auto Hot / Cold Spot Indicator has been applied, which automatically highlights the Hottest or Coldest
temperature point in a defined area.
Temperature Profile Line Graph shows the temperature variation in graph form across the subject.
The images are automatically Time and Date stamped to verify the time and date when the image was taken.
The report also details the Emissivity Value relating to the image taken.
