• Initial success 2010 fall, 2011 spring
• Bad systems project
– AARA funds used to do SSO
– NCIIA funds used to enhance system
• personal transition to faculty
• no activity for 2011 fall/spring
• ramping again now
– 3 tech entrepreneurship courses
– 220 students, 60+ teams
– 40 (out of 200) mentors

• roll out across CTI
– as many as 1,000 BIS, 250 teams
• need full-time mentor management
• or, try self-organization
• roll out across ASU more difficult
• re-emphasize the Mentor Marketplace
• attempt global connections
• adopt some of UofW Foster center approach

18. lessons learned
• make process as simple as possible
• provide clear policies, procedures, etc.
• must engage with the system
• need to accommodate all styles
• virtual does not replace f2f
• avoid major systems project: no SSO
• at scale mentor management is a full-time job
