They research the patient's condition, provide specialist referrals, help schedule second opinions, accompany patients to appointments to take notes and ask questions, and serve as a liaison between the patient, family, and insurance providers. The navigator aims to reduce stress by taking on logistical and administrative tasks so patients can focus on their health.
