Nicole Torralba is most deserving of recognition by Who’s Who because of her
unique combination of intellectual curiosity and compassion concerning the
global issues her generation will have to face in the 21st century. Having worked
closely with her in the tenth grade, I was privileged to guide her in two research
studies—one on issues facing Africa and one on issues that veterans of the wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan face. She brought her compassion for the plight of others
less fortunate than she to both projects as she delved into in-depth reading and
research about AIDS among the women of central Africa and the issues specific to
female combat veterans. Her research skills, her writing skills, and her
presentation skills far surpassed those of most college freshmen. I expect great
accomplishments from Nicole both personally and professionally, and I will be
3. proud to say that Creekview High School helped make some small contribution to
her success.
