The document discusses the locations used for the film project Brownwonder Productions. The group initially chose a butcher shop and bedroom but footage from the butcher shop was not good enough so they changed locations to a workshop and school corridor. The workshop became their main location as it had plenty of space and tools representing danger, fitting for the thriller genre. The corridor was also chosen because it was narrow and isolated, helping portray fear. In the end, the group was happy with their location choices and changing locations.
2. OUR GROUP IDEAS
As a group, we first chose our locations to be a butcher shop
and a bedroom. We filmed at the butcher shop twice but the
footage wasn’t god enough and therefore we changed the
location to a workshop and the school corridor.
We chose these location because of the large amount of space
available and also because we thought the setting will be
perfect for our two minute opening sequence.
4. WORKSHOP
We believe that this location suited our plot very well and the
decision to change locations was the right decisions. The mise-en-scene
was perfect for the sequence as the room was filled with
tools such as chisels, hammers and saws, representing danger; a
convention of the genre thriller. The workshop is our main location
and most of the movie is filmed in here. Also, the workshop was
quite big which helps us show the isolation as there will only be two
characters in the workshop.
Moreover, the walls are also plain which adds on to the lifeless
look that the workshop gives
6. THE CORRIDOR
The corridor is the first location used in the sequence and it
is a pivotal location as this is where Lucy gets kidnapped.
We decided to use this corridor as it is quite narrow and
the lighting was reasonably high resulting in the sequence
being very visible. Also, the narrowness and the isolation of
the corridor helps represent the ideas of fear and in overall
portray the genre thriller.
8. OUR FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall we are very happy with our locations
and also happy with the decision to change
locations. We felt that the locations were
perfect n size and also helped create the
setting for a thriller film which was our aim to
begin with. They were also highly accessible
for all of us compared to our former locations
and therefore was even more helpful.
