update in ARMENIA

Hardware purchase

In the framework of the 14502 1-TEMPUS-
2008-UK-JPCR project ISEC has purchased:
30 Dell Pentium IV personal computers;
Rack mountable server for e-learning;
Uninterruptible power supply for the server
LCD projector;
Printer;
Scanner;
Interactive smart board;
Two D-Link 16-port switches.

Classrooms set up

November 2009
3 classrooms are set up;
Classroom 1 – 9 workstations
Classroom 2 – 16 workstations
Classroom 3 – 5 workstations
One classroom is set up with the smart
board
On the e-learning server Moodle open
source VLE is installed

Co financing
Installation and testing of rack, 10
GB fiber optic backbone and
telecommunication hardware are
going as co financing (funding
agency NATO, ~25000 Euro, grant
‘Harmonization of the Academy of
Sciences Network Infrastructure for
Connecting to GÉANT).
Project is realised by FSL.
