2. C/U
• This is a close up of the
cake, it is shot this way
to show the text on the
cake, which establishes
who the girl is, and
enough of the girl to
acknowledge her but
not show her identity.
This show is ended by
tracking the girl and
showing her blowing
out the candles to
signify the end of the
dream.
3. Mid Shot
• This is a midshot
which is used to
establish Sarah’s
surroundings. Its
follows her
move movement
thus displaying
more of here
room.
4. Wide Shot
• This wide shot is
forcing as much of
the set into shot as
possible, it makes
sarah seem small
and week as well as
making the corridor
seem longer than it
really is. This is
probably shot with
steadicam as the
camera is moving
but there are no
tracks
5. Trombone Shot
• This is a special
shot which is
predominantly
used to show a
daunting
realization on a
characters face.
The camera
moves forward
and then zooms
out to create the
effect.
6. Arc Shot
• This shot is
used to show
that Sarah is
safe now and
that the fading
of the lights
was just in her
head.
7. C/U
• This clsoe up is
used to show
emotion on
Juno’s face, she
truly seems
upset, this could
be hinting at her
personal loss of
Paul (Sarah’s
husband)
8. Establishing Shot
• This is the final
establishing shot
which is used to
end the scene,
after this the
opening titles
appear after a fade
to black which also
suggests time has
pasted and
locations have
changed.
