Classroom Management Plan
2. Energy Exploration
Mission
The purpose of this class is for students to gain a
broad perspective of energy exploration within the
Rocky Mountain States.
Energy will be examined through issues of
Economics, Safety, Geology, Exploration, Production/
Operation, Land Reclamation, and Harnessing Energy.

Teamwork
All successful human endeavors require human
cooperation and respect, Energy Exploration is
no exception. This class will attempt to create a
Win-Win teamwork atmosphere where we relyon and help each other.
This class will be herein be designated as
Energy Team - Cougar #1

CLASS RULES
1. Show up prepared.
Bringing all needed materials to class .
Being in seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
During field trips be dressed appropriately with steeltoed boots.

2. Get respect by giving respect.
Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
Listening and staying seated when someone is talking.
Respect your team/classmates by your attitude and language.
Respecting your team/classmates property (if it's not yours, leave it
alone).
On field trips, no horsing around, be respectful to the Hosts.

CLASS RULES
3. Classroom expectations.
During the first two weeks, students will sit in alphabetical
ordered seating so the teacher can learn everyone's names.
After two weeks students can sit where they want. If become
disruptive with their neighbors, they'll have to be separated.
Students are expected to take notes through each class on the
main topics discussed.

CLASS RULES
Students are expected and will be graded on participation
in classroom activities.
During in class work (practice problems, etc.) students are
allowed to collaboratively work together on the problems
as long as it isn’t explicitly copying each other’s answers.
Students need to request leave from the teacher to use the
bathroom. It is expected that the student will quickly
return to the class. Only one student can be gone to the
bathroom at a time.
Cell phones and MP3 players should be off and put away.

CLASS PROCEDUERS
1)
Raise your hand and wait to be called on for a question.
2) If you need to use the restroom, raise two fingers and wait
to be acknowledged.
3) Pencils may be sharpened only when it is not detracting to
the teacher or the class.
4) Homework shall be handed in the homework basket at the
beginning of class.
5) Field trip procedures will be outlined in the class
immediately prior to actual trip.

GOOD CONSEQUENCES
• If you do good you’ll get a thumbs-up.
• If the class rules have generally been
obeyed, by being respectful to the teacher
and class/team members there will be a 10
minute donut party at the end of class on the
last Friday of each month compliments of Mr.
Polson, (during monthly review of our class
plan)

11. Energy Team - Cougar #1
CRISIS PLAN
Sometimes bad things happen: Earthquakes, Fires, Misbehaving
Students, etc. In the event that the classroom or building has become
unsafe, the following crises plan will be followed.
1)
If appropriate, Mr. Polson will dispatch one student to explain the
situation to the office.
2)
If appropriate, Mr. Polson will send the rest of the class to XYZ
room, or outside the building to await further instructions.
3)
Once the crises has passed, the class will be directed by Mr.
Polson or other School Official to either return to class, or follow
alternate directions.
4)
Parents will be notified of any crises occurrence.

Review
At Mr. Polson’s digression we will review the
classroom management plan on the last Friday
of the month, or as necessary.
