RECOMMENDATION
Dominion Motors
should develop new
design of motors &
continue selling the
10 hp motors at
same prices
Dominion Motors should develop the new design of the motors and till the development phase they should
sell as per old specifications only without reducing the price of the 10 H.P motor.
But the design specifications should not follow the specifications given by Hamilton’s Field Test as these
specifications have not formally released yet & chances of deviations are more.
They should do market research to find out the exact pains & gains of the oil companies.
They should consult or may include the rig supervisors in design phase because their recommendations are
respected by other oil company personnel.
Why they should
develop new
design of motors?
Dominion motor has to develop the new design of the motors not only because the Hamilton is coming up
with new specifications but instead there is already a need to develop new design because of the following
reasons:
New Regulations by Power Companies:
1.Overmotoring – Companies doing over motoring will be penalized so in future the companies will demand
the accurate machines which satisfies their needs ( winter –extra torque)
2. Changes in the power rate charges – as per new regulations now the power will be charged according to
the H.P of the motors hence Oil companies will definitely demand low H.P motors which will give required
torque.
3.New design have to follow the NEMA norms to maintain credibility in the market.
