2. Friction and gravity!!!
• Friction- the force that one surface exerts on
an other when the two rub together.
• Gravity- the force that pulls all objects towards
another.
Not a lot of
gravity there!!!!!
3. Newton's 1st Law
• Newton’s 1st Law-an object at rest will stay at
rest and an in motion will stay in motion at a
constant velocity or until acted upon by an
unbalanced force. More Mass, More Inertia!!!
4. Newton’s 2nd Law
• Newton’s 2nd Law- force equals mass times
acceleration (F=MxA)
5. Newton’s 3rd Law
• Newton’s 3rd Law- every time one object
exerts a force on another object, the second
object exerts a force that is equal size in the
opposite direction back on the first object.
6. Glossary
• Friction- the force that one surface exerts on an other when the two rub together.
• Gravity- the force that pulls all objects towards another.
• Mass- the amount of matter in an object.
• Balanced Force- equal forces acting on an object that do not make it move.
• Unbalanced Force- two unequal forces acting upon an object forcing it to move.
• Newton’s 1st Law-an object at rest will stay at rest and an in motion will stay in
motion at a constant velocity or until acted upon by an unbalanced force.
• Newton’s 2nd Law- force equals mass times acceleration (F=MxA)
• Newton’s 3rd Law- every time one object exerts a force on another object, the
second object exerts a force that is equal size in the opposite direction back on
the first object.
• Inertia- the tendency of a moving object to continue in a straight line or a
stationary object to remain in place.
• Acceleration- a change in velocity(speed up, slow down, and changing direction)
