yourself an evidence bag and a pair of
tweezers.
Examine the corpse, can you find the
fibres? Take one strand and examine it
under the microscope. Remember to
leave some for other investigators.
Whose clothes do these fibres
match? compare them to the samples
taken from the suspects....
Which are
smoother
under the
microscope?

A Powder was found at the scene of
the crime. When burned it gave off a

You have a set of samples in front of
you, use the wire to collect the powder
then hold it in the bunsen burner. What
colour does it glow?
Which is our mystery powder?
Do sparklers

4. Blood Chromatography
thicker than water?
The victim didn’t give up without a
fight and a sample of the suspects blood
was found at the scene.
We have taken blood from all of our
suspects. Run a chromatography to
compare the samples and see which one
matches closest.
Use the clinical sticks to diagnose any
conditions that the suspect might have.
Urine Analysis
it’s in the water...
The excitement of the kill may have
been too much for our murderer as we’ve
also managed to locate a urine sample.
Run some tests on this and compare
it to the samples we have taken from
each of the four suspect. Does this help
you in your case?
Note: Wear gloves!
