4. The Real Story of Thanksgiving
16 years later in 1637, the meal was celebrated after a battle
with a local native tribe in which whole Native American
families were slaughtered. Ever since 1970, Native
Americans have gathered at Plymouth, Massachusetts to
honor their fallen ancestors. To them thanksgiving is a
reminder of bloodshed and war.

● Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and count our blessings.
● In America, everyone comes together and celebrates with a thanksgiving meal.
● It is a joyous time and a time to be happy.
● Thanksgiving has been going through the generations year after year

During Thanksgiving we gather together with our
families and play fun games. Also, we watch
Christmas movies to get us in the holiday spirit.

❖ Pumpkin pie- A pie made with pumpkin purée and other ingredients.
❖ Apple pie- A pie with a sweet fillings with apple slices.
❖ Strawberry rhubarb pie- A pie with rhubarb and strawberries.
❖ Chocolate cream pie- A pie with a chocolate pudding and whipped cream
on top
❖ Blueberry pie- A pie with a blueberry filling.
❖ Pumpkin bread- A sweet bread with pumpkin purée
❖ Sweet potato casserole- A casserole with sweet potatoes and
marshmallows on top.

- some families even go play football themselves!
