5. Confidentiality Violations
• When staff discusses student in
inappropriate places
• When staff gossip about student and
family
• Giving too much information
• Identifying students as being in
special education on displays
around the school, campus
newspapers, yearbooks, signs
outside the classroom door,etc.

folder please contact your
campus coordinator before
anything is released.
7. A note about discussing your students
with others on your campus……..
please remember that you should be an
advocate for your students. It is very important
that you present a positive attitude about your
students. It is your job to help them navigate the
campus, problem solve if conflicts arise, and
help with organization of assignments, etc.
Confidentiality of student information
(behavioral, personal, and academic) applies
to all staff who do not have an academic
interest in your students. This includes bus
drivers, cafeteria staff, custodial
staff, paraprofessionals, and other professional
staff.
