2. Making your mark - Digital Signatures
• The Work Based Learning Programme in Wales is
partly funded by the European Union;
• All auditable documents require a ‘wet signature’
and electronic signatures are not accepted;
• As a consequence the entire administrative system
is paper based resulting in cumbersome and time
consuming management processes;
• The aim of the SWANI Project was to digitise the
administrative system and to make progress
towards the acceptance of digital signatures as part
of that;
• The PotsPan project is piloting the system.

• Pilot of the digitised system across the region
2012/2013;
• Optimisation of administrative and management
workflows;
• Trial and evaluation of both digital pen and digital
signature systems;
• Contribution to the EU process for the development
and acceptance of an electronic signature system
for programme audit;
• Implementation of a time-efficient and cost-
effective digitised WBL administrative system for
Wales.
