2. Title
• I think of the cinema as a form of
escape, however the title ‘Escape’ is
used by Cineworld’s magazine
• I searched synonyms of escape and
found:
-
avoidance, break, breakout, bypass, depart
ure, desertion, disappearance, dodging, duc
king, elusion, evasion, extrication, flight, freed
om, liberation, outbreak, release, rescue, retr
eat, shunning, sidestepping, slip, withdrawal
3. Outbreak
• I thought Outbreak was the best of
these I designed this using Microsoft
Publisher
• I thought this looked too much like a
travel magazine and started thinking
of more technological words
• Font used: super black SF
4. Technological
I thought ‘Technicolour’ was a good
choice for a film magazine as it sounds
inviting and vivid, but is denoted to
technology and therefore makes the
magazine sound inviting
Looked through several fonts, below:
5. Fonts
• Decided on Adventurer Light SF
• Looks:
- Retro
- Technological
- Interesting
- Uncommon
- Simple
All these characteristics made it suitable
6. Colours
• Too bright
• Irrelevant to the
theme of the
magazine
• Distracting
• Hard to read
8. Pink
• When I highlighted the text to change
the colour, I thought a pink colour
would look good- so I recreated it
• Thought the black strip was too dark
9. Height
• Capitalised it to make lettering have
more of an impact
• Needed more height, the text looked
too flat
10. Spacing
• I preferred the taller one, however as it
is a font with gaps, I think the letters
need more space between, so the title
can be easily read
11. Layering
• I went to make a copy of the text and
the copy landed:
• I decided to combine this with the
green colour I had experimented with
before
12. Layering Colours
• Made the green brighter
• Then wondered what it would look like
if I added other colours
• I thought this was very effective
