Vanessa discusses improvements needed to be made to a music video rough cut before the final deadline. Transitions need to be added consistently throughout and some base tracks need to be re-synced as clips were sped up or slowed down. Finishing touches will include desaturating cutaway clips, adding smoothing and sepia effects to base tracks, and enhancing reds and blues in graffiti backgrounds.

2. My goals for the editing session on Monday was
to at least have the beginning of the video
edited to the beat. We managed to mark every
fourth beat and have most of the cutaway clips
transition on the fourth or second beat, where
the base can be heard the most. However, more
work has to be done to make sure this is
consistant throughout.

3. As this is a Dubstep song, our Music Video relies
heavily on the editing to bring it to life. Thus,
one way of doing this was to manipulate the
timings of different clips, by using slow motion
and speeding up sections of clips. This then
meant that some of our base tracks were
thrown out of sync and needs to be re-synced in
areas, as seen in the rough cut.

4. Transitions on some clips need to be added. For
example, so far we have stuck to using crossdissolves because of the imagery of our graffiti
backgrounds merging into other images

5. For the finishing touches we are going to add a
desaturation to the cutaway clips to signify the
difference between the narrative and the base
tracks. We are then going to add a smoothing
effects and a low percentage sepia effect to the
basetracks, as well as enhance the reds and
blues on the graffiti backgrounds.
