What is My developerWorks? My developerWorks is everything and everywhere our users can contribute , connect with others and engage with developerWorks. How did we do it? My developerWorks runs on IBM Lotus Connections 2.5. Profiles, My Home, Blogs, Groups, Bookmarks, Activities, Files and Wikis ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]

[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Profiles give you your own identification, allowing users to communicate outward and interact with each other. Profiles Public profile – Persistent display of status updates, “The Board”, Tabs, Interests, Colleagues, Links, Facebook

Profiles Profiles are automatically created for a user when they register or log into developerWorks. A user must have a profile to be able to utilize My developerWorks. A user’s profile can contain both private and public information. A user can choose to keep mandatory information private except: Full name, and display name Edit profile – Contact info with collapse sections. In-line editing; show/hide

Groups ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Groups are micro communities that can be public or private . They have a lot of valuable features for allowing users to create an enriching collaborative environment.

Groups ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Option Description Private : Hidden and restricted to a particular set of users. This group is not accessed via search or other group listings. It is only recommended for groups that are sharing confidential content or have a business critical need for a gated community. Open : Publicly available and anyone can join and contribute. A public group has a low barrier to entry, encouraging participation. Public groups are a great marketing and communication vehicle to the external IT professional audience.
