Nam Sudan (Ả Rập: جنوبالسودان‎, Janūbas-Sūdān), tên đầyđủlà Cộnghòa Nam Sudan, làmộtquốc gia ở Đông Phi, không giápbiểnnằm trên phầnphía nam của CộnghòaSudantrướcđây. Thủ đô làthànhphố Juba.Đấtnướcnàycó biên giớivới Ethiopia ở phía đông; Kenya, Uganda, và Cộnghòa Dân chủ Congo ở phía nam; và Cộnghòa Trung Phiở phía tây. Phíabắcgiápvới Sudan, lànướccó dân cư chủyếulà người Ả Rập và người Phi theo Hồigiáo. Nam Sudan gồmvùngđầmlầy Suddrộnglớnmà nguyên là sông Nin trắng, người dân địa phương gọi nơi nàylàBahralJebel.
