This session will discuss the banana industry market size, export promotion and measures for
further enhancing the competitiveness in Maharashtra and globally. The discussion will
highlight on several challenges the industry has to overcome such as insufficient training
programme for farmers, storage & packing facilities, transportation and technology up
gradation. Notwithstanding, opportunity exist as there is a huge market for banana and its by-
products.
