PREFACE

Today’s industrial scenario of economy is highly competitive and constantly changing.
People are running to survive and fulfil their requirements. People have no time.
People, have therefore, forgotten their responsibility towards the society. To maintain
the system of society by working for social responsibility, some organisations are
working for same. A practical study for understanding of management in such NGOs
is more important with theoretical studies. In a M.B.A. program, students have to
prepare a project report, as a practical study with theoretical concepts, as a partial
fulfilment for the requirement of an M.B.A. degree. Here it is our sincere effort to
prepare project report on BAPS that’s Bochsanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam
Swaminarayan Sanstha.

Basic purpose and reason behind this report is to understand about BAPS and its
financial system and understand the people behaviour towards the BAPS. We have
selected some of the activities done by the BAPS. It also creates awareness in the
management students at grass root level about the difficulties and challenges faced by
the organisation in their social welfare work. This report includes graphical analysis to
represent concept in an illusive way, wherever needed. Based on this analysis, risk
pertaining to the project is identified by evaluating strengths and weaknesses of the
project. Also we had tried to identify the importance of each variable for the
evaluation and the application in different ways.

At the end of the report we have suggested some recommendations based on the
findings that we had made from report for the improvement of some of the factors and
variables. All the facts and figures added in this report are based on the data that was
available to us from the organization, along with the guidance of our faculties; we had
tried to calculate all the variables.

                                                                                       2

Health Fair is very nice concept done by BAPS. Its very beneficial for
many poor people.

BAPS Charities aims to serve individuals, families and communities in
need by providing high quality, low cost health care facilities.

Annual health fairs are at the core of BAPS Charities' medical services.
Physicians and technicians regularly volunteer their expertise to
provide free medical care and advice to the increasing number of people
who lack access to quality health care.

Staying informed about wellness issues can help one make better
decisions on how to lead a healthier lifestyle. In this respect, health
fairs also provide education through personal consultation, use of
tangible, visual aids and numerous informational pamphlets.

Access to quality healthcare eludes many of the world's population. In
India, even simple, easily treatable illnesses can be life-threatening
without proper medical treatment. Our goal is to provide medical
assistance regardless of a patient's social and economic background.

BAPS Charities has built and/or is managing 7 charitable hospitals &
healthcare centers in India, and is currently constructing a major new
hospital and research center in Surat.

MARKETING

• Basically, BAPS is not advertising about their activities which is
going to be happening, in the news paper, TV or to other media.
They are spreading awareness through the people those who are
coming to Mandir. In each and every mandir, from the notice
board and from the hoardings the people came to know about the
    activities.
• For any big festival which will be celebrated by the sanstha, then
for that big banners and hoarding are exhibited nearer to that
particular area where festival is going to be celebrated.
• WORD OF MOUTH is the best strategy using by the BAPS it
    spread the awareness.

                                                                   34

that mainly devotees are giving donation to the BAPS. Only
donation is the source of income for the sanstha.
• BAPS is also keeping books of records of the balance sheet and
    profit and loss account.
• The rules and regulation of BAPS does not allow us them to give
the proper figure of the donation and the donors but from
observing the activities we came to know that there is a huge
amount of donation given by the devotees from the all over the
    world.
• The donation which the BAPS is getting, all that fund is
distributed to the each and every activity for the social welfare.

                                                                         35

SUGGESTIONS

We have given some suggestion to the BAPS like:

   • Organization has to publish their detail activities plan about sabha & satsang
on regular basis So, every person can know the about the activities .

   • Organization can provide low cost education so that poor people can take more
       advantage.

   • They have to start new hospitals in the rural area so more & more people can
       take free medical services.

   • Also they can provide free lunch on a regular basis to the poor children.

                                                                                   40

  • 1. AS A PART OF M.B.A – SEM – III (2008-09) Stallion Group SUBMITED BY: SUBMITED TO: Goswami Jitendragiri KUMAR GAURAV Parakhiya Vasant (LECTURUR)
  • 2. PREFACE Today’s industrial scenario of economy is highly competitive and constantly changing. People are running to survive and fulfil their requirements. People have no time. People, have therefore, forgotten their responsibility towards the society. To maintain the system of society by working for social responsibility, some organisations are working for same. A practical study for understanding of management in such NGOs is more important with theoretical studies. In a M.B.A. program, students have to prepare a project report, as a practical study with theoretical concepts, as a partial fulfilment for the requirement of an M.B.A. degree. Here it is our sincere effort to prepare project report on BAPS that’s Bochsanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha. Basic purpose and reason behind this report is to understand about BAPS and its financial system and understand the people behaviour towards the BAPS. We have selected some of the activities done by the BAPS. It also creates awareness in the management students at grass root level about the difficulties and challenges faced by the organisation in their social welfare work. This report includes graphical analysis to represent concept in an illusive way, wherever needed. Based on this analysis, risk pertaining to the project is identified by evaluating strengths and weaknesses of the project. Also we had tried to identify the importance of each variable for the evaluation and the application in different ways. At the end of the report we have suggested some recommendations based on the findings that we had made from report for the improvement of some of the factors and variables. All the facts and figures added in this report are based on the data that was available to us from the organization, along with the guidance of our faculties; we had tried to calculate all the variables. 2
  • 3. ACKNOWLEDGEMNET We are also very thankful to the Nikhilesh Swami, Vivekpriya Swami; the main persons in the BAPS in Ahmedabad and also thankful to some volunteers for helping We are very thankful to our Kadi Sarva Vishva Vidyalaya University and Director Dr. Chinnam Reddy who has given us an opportunity to get practical knowledge in the field of Non Government Organisation and also for helping us to undergo this grand project. The learning during this project has been a great experience. We are also indebted towards our project guide KUMAR GAURAV for their invaluable guidance through out this project. Us in deciding the sector and the relevant topic of the project that can be helpful to us in the development of our careers. They had also given their valuable input while making this social management study report. 3
