The Wadhwani Skills Colleges initiative aims to address India's large skills gap by building capacity for 3 million higher education seats linked to vocational training. It works with government, industry and educational institutions to offer faster, cheaper credential programs to the 4.5 million youth left behind after high school each year. The initiative provides short-term industry-driven certificate, diploma and associate degree programs with credit transfer options to mainstream degrees, in order to link education to jobs and meet the demand for skilled workers.
