weADAPT is a knowledge sharing platform that aims to build capacity on climate adaptation. It provides a knowledge base of articles on emerging topics in climate adaptation and shares stories and lessons learned from adaptation projects. The platform also links to climate and other biophysical data to support adaptation decision making. Recent updates include new integration with climate data from the University of Cape Town and expanded coverage of an Asian weather station dataset.

Notas del editor
weADAPT began with wikiADAPT 5 years ago and many lessons have been learnt from the transition to creating a platform/network that is open, accessible, credible, trusted and easy to use.
Demand has been identified through stakeholder consultation in many workshops over the years. The are being addressed in a strategic way with partners.
Case studies can be added to the Google Earth interface which is a great communication tool for local NGOs and CBOs to international organizations.
Articles are organized into key themes which are managed by SEI and external partners in each area of expertise.
Downscaled climate data is being added in to weADAPT from the Climate Information Portal (University of Cape Town) through a CDKN funded project. Implemented by end October 2012.
Asian data coverage also available
High impact stories can be told using the content on the website (allows attribution to all authors), climate data and other types of spatial data.
Automated linking to other major global platforms – e.g. CIFOR
Despite the fact that there are a proliferation of portals out there, why would people use weADAPT? Balance between cutting edge technology while maintaining capacity building ethos for developing country contexts.
