2. SULLA MODA
E DINTORNI
by Stefano Guerrini

POINT OF VIEW
Let’s start from the fact that the writer is not a design expert. My vision of the living world, of the great architectural firms, of the brilliant,
sometimes eccentric characters like Starck, Rashid, Newson, Adid is that of a passionate and curious neophyte. Soon there will be the days of
Salone del Mobile in Milan, which each year bring with them many parallel events, often as a result of the collaboration with the world of fashion
with which I deal. With the lightness of one who is not completely of the sector, every time I get the impression that the ‘design world’ has a very
different impact on the audience from that of the fashion system. This is evident indeed during the days which Milan dedicates to these different
but not far sectors. During the Milan fashion week, I have often thought of how fashion, although it arouses curiosity in all the people, if it wasn’t so,
I wouldn’t be able to explain the success for example of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Valentino: The Last Emperor’, it never moves the great
masses, but only an audience of experts, a selected elite, not involving the whole city. With Salone in Milan instead the city seems to bloom and
some areas, such as Via Tortona, become open gathering places; all the corners offer inputs, ideas and creativity to a transversal public. And on
one side this thrills me, since it is true that I always wait for the arrival of these days with trepidation, on the other side it makes me certainly think
that in a moment of crisis like this, closed positions and excessive exclusivity are not useful, the same democratic approach and the same
transversality would do good to fashion too.

The jewels of memory. She was responsible of the Creative Department for one of the most prestigious Italian fine jewelry

collection Travel Diary: unique pieces, which, by mixing objets trouvés to elements of the classical tradition, nourish a
contamination of styles and languages and create a new art of contrast in contemporary jewelry design. Who knows my
space, is aware of the fact that I always remain fascinated by the concept of re-use, by how memory can also become an
expression of present times. For this reason I find the works of Francesca and the new Wonderland Paper memories very
interesting, which include the jewels “Nothing is thrown away”. An elegant and creative way to give new life to objects
recovered during travels around the world, turning them into very precious creations.

Con il nome Aminaka Wilmont
due trentenni hanno conquistato
le passerelle della London
Fashion Week
of the year Award’ a ITS 4, premio prestigioso della
drappeggiati, trovano identità nuove e all’avanguardia.
Royal College of Art, la Central Saint Martins e l’University
Come vi dividete i
compiti?
Mi
