- 2. Business Devotional Meeting • Purpose of Devotional Meeting – Gather of business people in the marketplace – Sharing of biblical principle in business context – A platform to garner support from one another – Spiritual growth
- 3. Business Devotional Meeting • Meeting will be held on the first and third Wednesday of every month • Sequence of meeting – 7:30pm to 8:30pm • Praise & Worship • Sharing of the Word • Fellowship

- 7. R E S U L T S • What is partner? – a person who shares or is associated with another in some action or endeavor; sharer; associate. • Partnership right from the start – Gen 1:3-26 – “Let….”

R E S U L T S • Benefits of partnering – Genesis 2:18 (ESV) – Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9 (ESV) – Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. • Can you name some benefits?

- 11. R E S U L T S • How do you seek the right business partner? • 6 basic things to look out for (outwardly) 1. Values 2. Common Goal 3. Commitment 4. Expectations 5. Financial Position 6. Complimentary Strengths
- 12. R E S U L T S • Inwardly? • Examining the personalities of Holy Spirit – friend, comforter, helper, intercessor, advocate (advisor), counselor and strengthener. • LET – Lean – Encourage – Trustworthy

- 14. R E S U L T S • To understand is to know and comprehend the nature or meaning • Audience are the spectators or listeners assembled for a common objective.
- 15. JESUS is all time Greatest Preacher
- 16. R E S U L T S • Jesus preaching attracted enormous crowds • Bible often records the positive reactions of those crowds to his teaching. • Example – Matthew 7:28 – Matthew 22:33 – Mark 11:18 – Mark 12:37
- 17. Why?
- 18. R E S U L T S 1. Began with peoples needs, hurts, and interests – Basic message must be good news – People flock to good news – Start with interest, moving towards objective
- 19. R E S U L T S 2. Jesus related Truth to Life (put into context) – Transform NOT inform – Practicality and simplicity – Clear, relevant, and applicable – Less ought-to, more how-to
- 20. Exhortation without explanation leads to frustration
- 21. R E S U L T S 3. Jesus spoke to the Crowd with an Interesting Style – Entertaining – Tell stories (can name some stories Jesus told?) • Holds attention, stir emotions and helps to remember – Use simple language – Rather be clear than complex

- Matthew 7:28 the crowds were amazed at his teaching. Matthew 22:33 (TLB) the crowds were profoundly impressed. Mark 11:18 (TLB) - people were so enthusiastic about Jesus' teaching. Mark 12:37 (NASB) - The great crowd enjoyed listening to Him.
- Wise teachers know to start with the students interests and move them toward the lesson. Effective salesmen know you always start with the customer, not the product. Smart managers know to begin with the employees complaint, not their own agenda. You start where people are and move them to where you want them to be.
- Entertaining: capturing and holding the attention for an extended period of time.The Bible shows that storytelling was Jesus favorite technique when speaking to the crowd. Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable." (Matt. 13:34)Jesus used simple language. He didnt use technical or theological jargon. He spoke in simple terms that normal people could understand
