Wouldn’t that be nice? Sounds to easy right. Well, as crazy as it sounds, its true. Lets double your blogs email
optin rate in just a matter of minutes.
T he goal here is to capture more email subscribers that we can convert into buyers. We all want subscribers
but we spend most of our time trying to get traf f ic to our blog. T he sad reality is that we are letting that traf f ic
slip through our net.
We want to limit the amount of people that come to our website and don’t sign up f or our mailing list. T his is a
key part of email marketing success.
When it comes to your optins and your optin f orm there are a number of small tweaks that can make a big
dif f erence.

How To Double Your Opt in Rat es
Email Optin Form Placement. It starts with placing your email optin f orms in convenient places. Simplif y the
process of joining your mailing list. T he easier it is to sign up, the more subscribers you will get. Have a f orm
displayed within blog posts, in the sidebar, and other convenient Locations. Don’t link to your f orm that is on
another page (this drives me crazy!) Why make it so dif f icult f or someone to join your mailing list.

Tell them why they should join your mailing list. Its nice to let your readers know you have a mailing list but
why should they join it? If they don’t know why they should join they never will.
Let them know the benef its of subscribing. Are you giving them an amazing f ree report? Tell them that! Do you
send awesome tips f or signing up? Let them know that! Give them a reason to subscribe to your mailing list.
Provide comfort to those that will potentially join your mailing list. Add some text to your email optin
f orm that lets them know you don’t spam your subscribers.

you a lot of valuable inf ormation f or improving your email optin conversion rate.
Use Social Proof. Have a lot of subscribers already? Yes, Awesome! Tell potential subscribers that.
Example:
Join 2000+ marketers just like you who get daily tips f rom our blog.
Show Testimonials. Do you have an appealing story f rom one of your subscribers on how your emails have
helped them? If so, consider putting this as a testimonial f or joining your list.
Use a call to action. Tell readers to sign up. Don’t just tell people why they should sign up, give them the
nudge and tell them to sign up.
Provide a better incentive. If you aren’t getting many subscribers but have a decent amount of traf f ic, your
email of f er incentive probably needs improved. Is the f ree gif t you are giving to subscribers f or signing up
targeted to your traf f ic? Is it valuable enough f or them to give you their email address?
Consider upgrading your email subscriber incentive by making it more targeted or more valuable.
